Jace Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 Has anyone been watching it? Comes to an end tomorrow Betfair are taking bets on who did it just put a cheeky £5 bet on it
MC Prussian Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 I gave up on the American (Canadian) version after a few episodes into the first season. They're milking every bit of story out of the original and artificially extend it beyond meaninglessness.
Jimothy Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 I'm pretty sure it's Alain the hotel owner, but he's only 5/4 so not worth it. Next I'd guess the Mayor, he's 7/1.
LCFC Rennie Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 Should have made the series a lot shorter. Just dragged.
Jon the Hat Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 As a dad with young kids the storyline is not something I want to watch. At all. no problem with it being made or with others watching it. Just wouldn't watch it myself.

Just wouldn't watch it myself. I don't have kids and I've found it heart wrenching to watch, especially the first few episodes, so I can see why you'd feel that way. It is well made and well acted, so I've enjoyed it as well as finding it heart wrenching.

foz.foz Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 Its on my Sky + to binge watch. Did the same with Breaking Bad. Thing is I think I'll probably hear the culprit before I've seen it all.
Saxondale Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 Uneasy watching but bloody good. The mayor is a good shout actually.

I did the same for this version for the same reason seems to be the standard approach for modern serial dramas
AoWW Posted 15 December 2014 Posted 15 December 2014 I only started watching from episode 4 onwards. I really don't have a clue what's going on or who anybody is.
Ric Flair Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 It's made a change that a British drama has been produced that is more than 3-4 episodes long. I was expecting it to be a bit quicker paced after the first 2 episodes purely because I assumed it would be a short series, but the last few episodes have been very good and although the storyline is obviously harrowing it's made a change from most of the dross on TV.

Agreed, I've enjoyed Season 2 of 'The Fall' as well. Recording 'The Legacy' as well - it's the latest from the makers of The Killing and Borgen - not started watching yet though.
Jimothy Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 Alain is clearly making this up. We saw Ollie at the window of the house alive and he drew the picture there, he wasn't dead when he arrived. EDIT: Spoke too soon.
Buzzell Posted 16 December 2014 Posted 16 December 2014 I'm pretty sure it's Alain the hotel owner, but he's only 5/4 so not worth it. Next I'd guess the Mayor, he's 7/1. Great guess!
Jace Posted 16 December 2014 Author Posted 16 December 2014 Such an annoying episode and ending, making it out all through the episode that he would have ended up alive in Russia with that picture at the beginning, Betfair haven't decided what to do regarding the betting to no surprise
indierich06 Posted 17 December 2014 Posted 17 December 2014 Thought the ending was a total cop-out. No resolution whatsoever.
Len Finsbury Posted 17 December 2014 Posted 17 December 2014 A very dissatisfying ending to a very good series. They dragged the story out for seven episodes then rushed the rather convenient 'deathbed' confession. Such a shame.
LCFC Rennie Posted 17 December 2014 Posted 17 December 2014 Season 2? Completely different case apparently.
