lol I do not run the account on tik tok, but I may be a member of the group...

I thought you might have something to do with it when I saw Little club won your restaurant of the year award.

Went to Broadway, the veg food was excellent. Ordered a stack of veg and non veg between us. Only Durham ox left for me to tick off now. @Chris_OGrady
Very useful 8 or so days in Leicester during my Xmas fortnight in the uk. Longest I’ve spent in the city since I was at school, I think.

I wouldn’t bother, the group I went with thought the food was average. Though this was a couple of years ago.

Beers prices were/are very good though and it was a decent atmosphere in there.

Quick question; what's the best pizza place in the City, please, in your estimation?

I don't get to the City as often as I'd like and it changes a lot every time.

Thanks mate. Someone recommended Dough What... I think we did a place called Peter Pizza or something last time; which was good.

My kids love pizza. I suppose everyone's kids love pizza.

Great stuff! You've put a shift in whilst you've been back! Your insides will be ready for a break lol I need to do Durham Ox next year, Himalaya Tandoori, Chef's Flavour and Chettinad. Also want to try Mitsuki as I've heard good things.

I've heard it's pretty good from a few people, very basic inside though. I rated Wyvern so intrigued to see what it's like.

Haha yeh has been a good shift! Enjoyed being back in Leicester for this period, will look to do longer weekends around the football for the rest of this season, or less time in London.

Nice one mate, goes without saying put your reviews on this thread so I can update my to do list!

I would agree with this. Doughwhat is ok, but doesn’t come close to the others imo.

Went to Efes Mangal last night. It was awful. So cold we all had to eat with our coats on. We were a group of 6, 3 were served meals and then 20/25 minutes later the others were served. One ordered steak, which was tepid served with tepid chips, cooked well done instead of medium rare and tough. One person ordered a vegetarian dish, which was served with lamb in. The casserole was served with a fork. My lamb shish and chicken kofte initially came the incorrect way round. Definitely not as nice as Istanbul. So, all in all not a great experience. The bill was adjusted and we did get a complimentary pint.

Probably a bit harsh point out restaurant temperature with how cold it is outside but Crafty was cold last night as well.

Food wise I thought it’s gone down hill. Had a Dragon Chicken burger which was meant to have an Asian sauce and slaw. Barely had any sauce and the slaw was little the pre made shop bought bags which I thought was quite poor. It tasted alright but I could have made much better at home.

It's s**te.  As you say, half the time it's cold and the burgers are genuinely underdone.

Makes the demise of Meatcure all the more painful that Crafty remains the main burger place in town.  RIP.

First time I’ve questioned whether it’s decent any more but it just felt a bit lazy and could have been much better.

I had this same burger a few weeks ago and thought it was decent. The dragon fries are very good too.

I agree it was a little chilly when we sat upstairs.

It was better a few years ago still a solid place to go.

Don’t get me wrong the food was nice, I just don’t think it had much flavour and could have been better with home made garnish etc.

Meatcure was alright but never touched Crafty at its peak imo. Crafty also has the added bonus of not having to wade through seven types of piss to go for a slash

Just because you lack the refinement to appreciate to vibe of piss stained chipboard and exposed plumbing.

And if we're talking thrones, Crafty's are basically puddles tbf.  Not seen the like since a Nottingham Burger King.

A further visit to The Bull in Broughton Astley confirmed it was as excellent as the last time.

I noted a couple of comments on temperature after my complaint about Efes Mangal,  where it was freezing not just cold. The restaurant was full and they've a  full on fire grill. But, it was still absolutely freezing and you could feel a draft. Most people dining in coats isn't good.

When we were seated today it was cool and there weren't many people dining. Understandable as it's a large open area. Half an hour later, a lot more people, warm food etc and it was lovely and warm.

I had a roast at The Hunting Lodge in Barrow yesterday and thought it was really good. Not a massive fan of roast dinners generally, but that's the best one I've had round here (admittedly I have not been for that many).
