Rincewind Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 There are some sick people about. A friend who goes in the Kings Head and volunteers for the Leicester charity Wishes For Kids went to the Globe to pick up a collection tin and discovered it had been stolen. This is also the charity that a part of the poker fee is given to on a Monday night. Full story here. According to the landlord it must have been stolen Wednesday afternoon probably by two blokes that were refused to be served as the place was not busy that afternoon
Guest MattP Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 It looks disgraceful but I'll wait until we see the full facts, for all we know the thief could have just came from the job centre where he might have been sanctioned.
Rincewind Posted 13 January 2015 Author Posted 13 January 2015 No excuse if it was. I don't know why you are assuming that though. They are scumbags regardless their status.
Unabomber Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Another day, another tragic story. What a world we live in atm.
MooseBreath Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I expect there to be a protest and for Leicester to be the capital of the world for a day. #iamglobecharitycollectiontin
One Legged Beaver Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Minutes silence on Saturday for this?

Guest MattP Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Something sounds amiss doesn't it? If you refused to serve someone surely you would watch them leave the place after doing so?
Soar Fox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 A minutes applause in the 30th minute for every pound that would have been in there.

The Charity grants wishes for those of eighteen years and below. Wishes 4 Kids has already granted hundreds of wishes for local children. Sadly we do not have a magical cure for the suffering of these youngsters, however, we can bring a short period of respite. The time when a child has a wish granted is a moment that will be treasured by them for the rest of their life. It is also a time which parents will remember - that time when their child forgot the suffering.

Webbo Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 I think we have a suspect. Had a dry July, August, September, October, November and December. Now having a wet January to dissipate the gloom. A nice little crawl last night - a hoppy little bitter in The Pub; a lovely liquorice stout in The King's Head; a solid Brakespear's in Firebug; a perfect Tiger in The Globe (shame they've moved it upmarket, as they're still keeping their ales well); an over-dry ruby ale and a tasty Festive Ale in the Ale Wagon, all topped off with a warming bottle of Old Peculier on returning home.....brain cells pleasantly marinated.
Soar Fox Posted 13 January 2015 Posted 13 January 2015 Thanks Smudge , £30.00 donated on behalf of all at Foxtalk !!! Fantastic gesture.
