Not sure if this has been discussed before but if you look at individual players it compares their performance this year and scores them.

Statistically our best striker is Nugent, best midfielder (central) is Drinkwater and best keeper is Hamer

Load of tosh probably but it will appeal to some so decided to post it.

nb Vardy has most assists :-)

Ulloa's 17 chances created with 1 assist just sums up how shit we are at taking chances.

Hopefully Krammy and Leo will form a solid partnership.

can see why statistically nugent would perhaps be best, hamer is obviously statistically our best keeper but not sure how anyone can claim drinkwater has been anything other than our worst midfielder so far this season. stats ey.

I've not actually had time to work out how they calculate it. I.e if you look player by player, I think King out performs Drinkwater in most areas yet his overall score is lower. If it takes into account the final result of the game etc it's already flawed.. I'm sure it's flawed anyway  :) Nothing seems to work out for poor old Albrighton who comes up a big minus!

but nugent is shocking... lol

Tbf Ulloa has been our best striker this season by a mile.

Ulloa has been one of our better players. Everything about his play is good.

Would Nugent have played 22 games for a premier league club if he was 'shocking' ....

My post was meant to be sarcastic. I'm one of the few on here in the Nugent camp.

Statistically, how boring is this thread?

Statistically, how many threads do you open that don't interest you so that you can post a negative comment?

As I said in the opening gambit   'Load of tosh probably but it will appeal to some so decided to post it.

If you are not one of the 'some' then just don't read it - quite simple really  :)

Yes, quite simple.

Bet the team would be bottom of the league if he did

Don't be fooled by Squawkas overall performance score which tries to compare apples and oranges.

As anyone who works with stats will tell you, data is meaningless without applying insight and context.

For instance Nugent has only 39% shot accuracy compared with Leo's 48%. In the context of being a forward, Leo's 48% accuracy is much more meaningful, especially if you take into consideration they both have 1.4 shots per game and Leo has loads of goals! I could go on.

FYI Whoscored also has good stats on players.

Statistically Leonardo Ulloa is the strongest link whilst Paul Konchesky remains the weakest link. But will the rest of the team see it that way? Let's see how the voting goes on The Weakest Link

Is what I said to myself when I read the thread

Surely Hammond won't feature highly in the rankings but he does a lot especially in his positioning that makes him a vital part of the team. Him and Cambiasso are our best two midfielders this season
