Stuliasz Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Bad Day All Round In Third-Worst Performance of the Season lcfcratings.wordpress.com Saturday 31 January 2015, 15:00Barclays Premier LeagueOld Trafford, Manchester Manchester United 3van Persie 27′, Falcao 32′, Morgan 44′ (og) Leicester City 1Wasilewski 80′ Marcin Wasilewski's consistently high level of performance continued with a solid display (6.75) that was enough to earn him man of the match in a disappointing outing at Old Trafford. Wasilewski scored the consolation goal that was set up by second-placed Marc Albrighton (6.45), with the ex-Villa winger comfortably doing enough in his half-hour on the pitch to beat fellow substitutes David Nugent (5.77) and Esteban Cambiasso (5.56) into second spot. Wasilewski was the only starter to score above average while the only others to do so were the three second-half substitutes. The rest of the team received disappointing ratings throughout with out-of-form Jamie Vardy (3.42) the worst ranked player against Manchester United, some contrast to his 9.68-rated display in the reverse fixture. Andy King (3.59) finished in the bottom three for the fourth game running, while fellow midfielder Danny Drinkwater (3.64) took his place in the bottom five for the third consecutive time. As a result the team performance was voted the third-lowest seen this season (4.82) with only the collective performances against Shrewsbury and Swansea considered worse. However Manchester United made tougher opposition than in the home fixture, with their performance (6.70) voted the seventh best against the Foxes this season. Martin Atkinson is proving to be a bad omen for the Foxes as he refereed his third City game this season receiving his lowest vote yet (5.02) compared to his other performances in the away fixtures at Newcastle United and West Ham United. With the substitutes taking three of the top four spots in the rankings this week, it's no surprise that Nigel Pearson's match rating was very low (3.49) with many fans deeming that he picked the wrong starting eleven as City went down 3-0 by half time. Meanwhile Pearson also suffered a 14% swing taking his overall supporter confidence down to 81%, the lowest since boxing day. It's the third game running where the manager confidence has swung by more than 13% as a collection of the voting support continues to change their opinion of the manager on a weekly basis. Leicesterpool Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 I'm surprised Jeff came lower than Simpson and Schwarzer I thought on the day Schlupp was one of our better players on the field.
AKCJ Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Manager confidence down 14% after losing at Old Trafford. Own up to it so you can be shamed.
BoyJones Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Jeff tried hard as usual, but I thought he was ineffectual and off the pace most of the time. He is a player I rate, but the game seemed to pass him by IMO. I think the ratings are pretty fair.
Fox92 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Manager confidence down 14% after losing at Old Trafford. Own up to it so you can be shamed. I'd say more of the fact it was the manner of the defeat/the way we set up and then our performance (up until Nugent and Albrighton came on anyway).
ratlad Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 dont agree with that kingy was one of our best. leicester city legend. waselewski not that good morgan was better.
Monsell1976 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 dont agree with that kingy was one of our best. leicester city legend. waselewski not that good morgan was better. Really ??
gazfox9 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 dont agree with that kingy was one of our best. leicester city legend. waselewski not that good morgan was better. Maybe Wes and Was' votes were given based on the ends at which they scored?!
Claridge Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 dont agree with that kingy was one of our best. leicester city legend. waselewski not that good morgan was better. How do you type in a straight jacket?
Witch Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 How do you type in a straight jacket? With his nose, I suppose.
ADK Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 I doubt King would have got such a low rating if he wasn't Andy King, granted he wasn't particularly effective. I gave Vardy an awful rating but thinking about it now, he wasn't clearly worse than Kramaric, Drinkwater or King. We were just steamrollered and few attacking players had any chance. Vardy gets such a low rating because he's Vardy.
Guest ttfn Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Marcin Wasilewski's consistently high level of performance Yeah but the sooner Huth is in the first team in his place the better.
sdb Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Pretty much exactly the order I went, although I was slightly kinder with my scores.
Dickov22 Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 I'm surprised Jeff came lower than Simpson and Schwarzer I thought on the day Schlupp was one of our better players on the field. I thought Jeff had one of his games where he spends most of the time daydreaming
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 For King to average that, some must have given him 4's and 5's which he really didn't deserve. I re-watched the game on MUTV on Sunday and he probably completed 50% of his passes, and almost all of them were sideways. Got absolute knocked about by Blind and Rooney in midfield and looked so out of his depth it was frightening.
Monsell1976 Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Shows how poor we were, first half especially, when 3 out of the top 4 rated players were subs.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 dont agree with that kingy was one of our best. leicester city legend. waselewski not that good morgan was better. You've been eating too much poison!!
LCCFox96 Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Ratings are fair in my opinion. The substitutions - to Pearson's credit - turned the game for the second half which we we're able to win 0-1. The tactics and set up displayed in the first half was all wrong. If those substitutes had started, particularly Cambiasso and Albrighton, we may have had a better chance of winning/getting something from the game!

King didn't have a good game by any stretch of the imagination, but there were far more players guilty of losing possession. Pearson should know by now not to play King and Drinkwater together. Hammond and James are much better partners for the both of them. Probably Cambiasso, too.

LAprice_ Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 We weren't great but I'm surprised it's our third worst performance! The quality of the opposition should help justify a players rating. Like King wasn't great but he was bullied by two world-class players. It wasn't our third worst game, we were just up against a very good team. I'd argue that West Brom, Sunderland and Stoke were worse. I think sometimes we're too critical.
DB11 Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 I thought we were bad but a loss away at Old Trafford - how can that be one of the worst manager performances?
