ktfox59 Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 I dont really get the thought that decent players wont come to us cos we are bottom. If they arent playing for their clubs, then here is an opportunity to put themselves in the shop window, perhaps be the difference between relegation. Improved profile. If not successful, they have their club to go back to. Win win for all concerned surely? meant relegation and survival
chapero82 Posted 3 February 2015 Author Posted 3 February 2015 Looking at all the activity yesterday I think it was all about nobody wanting to lose any players, there was hardly any business done this transfer window compared to normal
sphericalfox Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 This transfer window has felt like this video. Waiting for **** all to happen, and not giving a shit when it finishes. I'm hoping the additions we have made make difference. None of us knows for certain whether it'll click or we're going on the worst run since Derby, but whilst the others around us falter, we need to keep up, there's every chance that they are having their own problems.
Guest Col city fan Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 The players have the capabilities but the managers decisions and tactics are preventing them fro................you know what, forget it. This merry go round really doesnt need climbing on again. No it doesn't. You'll get nowhere. Personally, I think again our signings are not particularly what we needed. We still don't have a new left back nor a better quality midfielder. I guess we'll know soon enough.
RUDZY Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Looking at all the activity yesterday I think it was all about nobody wanting to lose any players, there was hardly any business done this transfer window compared to normal Yes sometimes it's best to look around for a Bargain. MAN U bought an unknown in from Bolton. Not nearly as busy or exciting as per usual
MC Prussian Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 Pearson's main cock up was back in the summer transfer window, when he only brought in a couple of good signings. We were desperate for a left back then, and he did nothing. Just how can people be happy with him, when he has anchored us at the bottom of the Premiership, with just four wins? It's not as though we were even competing with other sides; far from it. Hopefully the arrival of Huth, will change things He's the manager( supposedly), so he will carry the can if we go down. Leicester City forever, despite him. The summer signings were as much the club's decisions as it were his. But keep on banging about your lone gunman theory.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 3 February 2015 Posted 3 February 2015 How do you know he did nothing? We don't know what goes on inside the club. He might have big for ten left backs and just not got any. Just because we haven't heard about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. How come when we are linked with a bad player, you criticize Pearson. Yet when we are linked with a left back - remember Aaron Cresswell and our bid apparently - you still criticize Pearson. It's not as easy as going out, bidding and buying. It's not Football Manager or FIFA. Who is your suggestion as a left back then? Pay me megabucks, and I would find one. That's what he's paid for. He didn't get one, and now we are in "queer street"

stuartn27 Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Pearson again states he has faith in his players Wake up mate, look were we are
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 It's only three days till one of the biggest games in the club's recent history, I suggest. The proverbial 6 pointer. People seem pretty much agreed that this is a game we must not lose and really need to win. We'll soon see whether we have finally assembled a squad with sufficient quality to keep us up.

If not successful, they have their club to go back to. Win win for all concerned surely? If you were a decent player, would you want to go out on loan to a team bottom of the league, being beat more often than not, or go to a team that is doing ok.Like Lennon, why would he want to go to us or hull, as soon as Stoke came in, we had no chance, and then he went to Everton who are better again.
Burbage Fox Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 This is not the point. Whether Pearson should keep his job is not the question. He is being criticised for his many failings this season and some people think that he's doing alright. He isn't, he's fvcked up and unless he pulls something out of the bag we are getting relegated. We've not been up against it like Burnley, we've had all the resources to stay up, including a very strong squad to work with. We have failed to strengthen that squad in crucial areas and have underperformed due to poor tactics. If we go down Pearson will have failed big time, and regardless of whether he stays or not that will be how this season is remembered. Oh my God someone talking sense.. just because you disagree with NP choices does not mean you do not support the club. As said above NP has made massive errors this season in many areas, however the fact that there are 6 equally shite teams means we still have a chance and might survive, this does not mean that NP is the messiah but a little fortunate in having a season where the lowest points total ever could mean survival. And by the way... did our owners who have done nothing wrong at all, expect maybe trust people judgment a couple of times, say that want European football within 5 years.. so I am guessing finance is available, the support is there 32k most weeks its just we need a manager who is capable in the PL and unfortunately NP has shown he is not in both tactics and inability to see we needed a CM and LB.. oh well and for those of you who misguidedly think NP will bring us straight back, please look at Wigan!! Lost to Palace at the weekend and its more or less over anyway.. but you never know we may well just turn it on.
Babylon Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 We'll soon see whether we have finally assembled a squad with sufficient quality to keep us up. People keep saying it's his fault that we aren't many points better off, so surely that means they think the squad is good enough. What annoys me is that the same people them lambast him for not signing better players and say the squad isn't good enough. They can't have it both ways. It's either good enough or it's not. I wish people would make up their mind.
narboroughblue Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Not that it's a particularly good source but listening to Harry Redknapp on talksport this morning he was saying how difficult this particular window was to work in and that there wasn't the players available. I imagine there's some truth in there and although we tried our best we just couldn't add anymore quality from the pool of available players at a fair price.
Babylon Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 1) Well and for those of you who misguidedly think NP will bring us straight back, please look at Wigan!! 2) Lost to Palace at the weekend and its more or less over anyway.. but you never know we may well just turn it on. 1) Wigan have been through several managers, they did not keep their man in charge when they got relegated. In fact very rarely does a man take a team up, stay all season, come back down and get a decent crack at it again the next season. So if you want to use fair comparisons then do it with teams who have done the above. Wigan are more of an advert for sticking with one manager, so are cardiff and a multitude of other teams who jump back on the manager merry go round just before or after relegation. Constantly changing managers, players and philosophy can be a recipe for disaster. 2) No it's not more or less over. Why the hell are so many people wanting to write the season off before it's finished. We've had this for the last three months. Don't win this and it's over, don't win that and it's over... it isn't over and it won't be over after the Palace game either. I find it amazing that so many people who find so much stuff to moan about are always the first ones to throw the towel in... if the players did that you'd be moaning about that as well.
Guest MattP Posted 4 February 2015 Posted 4 February 2015 Calm down with the common sense there Babs. It's only our seventh must win game or we're down of the season on Saturday. I'm a bit bemused about how people are not happy with this window, compared to our rivals we've done pretty well. A much needed keeper in as we were one injury from calling in a youth player, the signing of a striker the league leaders wanted and a centre half with vast experience in this league. If you think it gets much better than that being newly promoted and rock bottom I'd suggest a trip back to reality.

Don't think Chelsea would have lost any sleep, if they brought him I doubt he would have had a look in, that's why he signed for us I should imagine. If we had added better quality in the summer, this window would be a good one, the window has been ok, but will it be enough, I really don't know.
