An open letter to Nigel Pearson a fans perspective

In terms of content it's about right as far as I am concerned, but I don't understand the purpose of it.

Nige has cocked up this season, and has to bear responsibility for the results, but nobody really expects him to change his views, actions or beliefs on what somebody else thinks do they?

He has and will do what he thinks is right, and that is the only way one should operate.

What he has done this season nobody can call a success that is for sure. Saturday, for all our possession, 'shots' and chances was another defeat derived from a bizarre starting 11 ( no Albrighton or Kramaric), and this is typical of his mistakes since October.

He will not change - he's a bloke in his 50s!!

This morning's Metro back page headline

PEARSON GETS IT IN THE NECK

Under-fire manager loses stranglehold on Foxes job

so they've got their finger on the pulse lol

on the subject of the "open letter" this sounds like the points made by the caller on 606 last night - when everyone thought NP was toast . I suspect that Nige will take all this on board and do absolutely FA about any of the issues raised

There hasn't been that much chopping and changing, most of the changes are in the midfield and that's come about because we've had injuries, suspensions and players away on international duty a lot of late.

Early in the season I agree there were too many changes. I think that came about due to people like Hammond and Schlupp coming in and doing well and others who were great last year not performing. He had to try and find the balance, but then took it too far pissing about with the diamond.

He also can't win, if he stuck with the same team after a loss people would moan. If he stuck with the same team after a win and he then lost, people would moan that he's not changing the team to suit the opposition.

Babs..He's a football manager, now at the top level.

That's not about changing the team to suit the fans, the players, the Board or whoever.

This 'can't win' thing is a null and void argument. That shouldn't matter.

Do you think Mourinho would give two hoots actually about what anyone else thought.

Nigel should know his best formation and his best players to play it.

He clearly doesn't.

That has, unfortunately, translated to 'can't win' on the field of play.

Injury aside (of course I do accept that), Pearson must develop his best way of playing and stop changing it up.

This is why he doesn't seem to be 'learning' the Prem.

If he was, we'd be looking better now than we did in August. We don't. If anything, we look worse.

I'm well aware it's not about changing the team to suit the fans, you seem to be missing the point. The point I'm making is the fans moan no matter what he does, so the point is not null and void. He can't win in the eyes of some fans, they will critisise him no matter what.

People will moan about changes and then in the next breath say we should drop Schlupp for Albrighton, bring back Mahrez, put Upson in for Wes, De Laet in for Konch and give Knockaert a try. The contrasting arguments often contradict each other.

For instance he clearly rates Mark S in goal over Ben Hamer, yet you'll moan about him changing the team and then moan about him not knowing his best team, when clearly he prefers the former.

The back four has mostly been the same other than the odd rotation of De Laet and Konch. De Laet came in for him over a  suspension and did well, so no shock he got a few games there, was poor against Man U and Konch came back.

Midfield has been hammered with different injuries, suspensions and AFCON. How anyone can moan about changing players in that area over the last month or so is beyond me as we've had a nightmare.

Upfront it's mostly been Ulloa and Nugent since the 21st December.  Vardy came in for the Liverpool game and we got a great team performance. The only other changes from what I can see were Spurs in the cup (Kramaric got a start which everyone wanted), Stoke where Ulloa sat it out and United.

As for looking worse than August, if you expected that all season then I'm sorry but you've deluded yourself.

Come on then Chris... step forward whoever you are (I assume someone so in touch with the wider opinion of Leicester fans reads the club's most popular forum?).

If you're going to write an open letter on behalf of me and the 'vast majority of City fans' then please make yourself available so that I can channel my opinion towards you direct for you to then reflect it in the utter crap that you're writing.

But be aware that my opinion on your letter will also be the first thing I provide my feedback on.

As Delia Smith once said... where are you? Come on, let's be 'avin you!

I hate open letters. They are written purely to stroke the writer's ego and are only intended to be read by like-minded people, never the "recipient" - as if NP would give shit like this the time of day

Write a blog from your own opinion, or write to the club from your own opinion - don't just type shit on the internet in the form of a letter and claim that it's the general consensus.

There's also the fact that none of our central midfielders have shown any ounce of consistency.

James, Drinkwater, King, Hammond and Cambiasso have ranged from abysmal to sublime over the course of this season. Compare that to last season when James and Drinkwater were so on-song that they were keeping King out of the side (who always did a very good job whenever he came on), there's no wonder why Pearson hasn't been able to keep a settled two.

Also, say we go to Chelsea and play 3 in the middle to give us extra manpower there, if that was then maintained for Hull at home then people would complain about negativity etc. It's all very easy to keep a settled side when you're top of the league, every one is in form and you expect to win/dominate most games.

Nigel played our best eleven on Saturday and we dominated Crystal Palace but didn't get the rub of the green. If we make changes against Arsenal it will be because:

a) Players are tired.

b) Arsenal pose specific threats that need to be negated.

c) With the expectation of a loss, it is an opportunity to give players who have potential a chance (Huth, Kramaric)

He probably wouldn't even get that far.

I find it all really weird that a grown adult spend so much time doing something like this so God knows what a manager of an actual Premier League football club thinks  :nigel:

So far NP has demonstrated that he is not up to PL standard. He may yet prove that he has learned from his PL induction and mature into being a decent PL manager. Until then he will have to accept conjecture and criticism from people. Many of these people are genuine fans who are not enjoying the anger and frustration that they project after seeing their team being regularly beaten.
