The Horse's Mouth Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I honestly don't want to risk Mahrez and Kramaric against these thugs.
Father Ted Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 The shape has looked decent for the first 45 minutes to be honest. 2 Terrible individual errors...from players which should be dropped at villa. ..........................................Hamer ..............Was.....................Huth...................Upson .RDL............................................................................Schlupp .............................James.............Cambi ......Mahrez.............................................................Albrighton ........................................Kram Maybe swap kram and albrighton to start ulloa instead. This for me too, except Simpson in for cup tied Huth and shift Was into the middle of the 3.
cjslcfc Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I'd rest a few given the Prem really is our focus and I reckon we can do Everton over. Hamer Konchesky Moore Morgan RDL Schlupp Hammond King Albrighton Nugent Kramaric ???? We have a week between this game and Everton away. There is absolutely no need to rest anyone at all.
cc_star Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Hamer... plus 10 outfield players in a similar setup to Arsenal away
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Based upon how we played yesterday. The fact that many people have said the formation freed up our best players to all play well, and we nearly came away with a draw....why would people change the formation? Haven't we been calling for some sort of consistent formation and team all season. Why not stick with it?

Haven't we been calling for some sort of consistent formation and team all season. Why not stick with it? I think the 4-5-1 was played purely because we knew Arsenal would have the majority of the possession and it meant we could sit deep and play on the break. Against other teams who don't play like that it might not be as effective?
Guest Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Hamer Simpson Wasilewski Moore Konchesky Albrighton James Cambiasso© Knockaert Ulloa Kramaric Shame Huth is cup tied. Assuming Upson wont be ready here? Schlupp seems like he's struggling to put in full shifts would rest him. Mahrez just had a long AFCON and put in a big shift last night, Albrighton serving Ulloa would do just fine.
Len Finsbury Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Whatever team and formation we play, we need to really attack them in the first 15 minutes. They really are lacking in goal scoring confidence so if we can score first, they're going to struggle. If we play it too cautious, we might just fizzle out to nothing. This is an ideal game for both sides really - a break from the day job of the league. Win, and confidence might just start a resurgence, lose and there's always the league to concentrate on.

Haven't we been calling for some sort of consistent formation and team all season. Why not stick with it? I'd have to agree. People tend to see five at the back as being negative but we didn't look particularly negative against Arsenal. You could look at it as an extra defender, or two extra attackers, with the full backs able to get forward more with the extra cover. Not to mention the concern about Cambiasso being shackled by his defensive duties, which didn't seem to be a problem last night. Hamer Simpson Wasyl Morgan Upson (if fit) Konchesky Mahrez Cambiasso James Schlupp Kramaric
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I'm sure we will give it our best shot whoever plays and hopefully we can nick a result Up the Foxes!!!!
Buzzell Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Unsure as to whether Pearson will make a few changes to keep our stronger players for the league as the last thing we need right now is injurys to the likes of Mahrez, Kramaric and Cambiasso.

The fact that many people have said the formation freed up our best players to all play well, and we nearly came away with a draw....why would people change the formation? Haven't we been calling for some sort of consistent formation and team all season. Why not stick with it? Exactly this! Consistency is what we've been crying out for, Everton isn't for another week. Let's use this as another chance for the players to get used to the system. Get Mahrez and Kramaric linking up together too, looks like that partnership could be key to staying up.
st albans fox Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 that system will work against teams that keep the ball and try and get into the final third so you can break Villa keep the ball but they don't get I to the final third If we play it, could be like west Germany v Austria!
Dan Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Hamer De Laet - Morgan - Wasilewski - Upson - Konchesky James - Cambiasso Mahrez - Kramaric - Schlupp I actually really liked that formation yesterday. Not for it being unorthodox, but I think it's quite a good fit for our current group of players. That is of course, providing Upson is fit.
Guest Cujek Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 So Mahrez puts in a class performance and you bench him? You sound like Pearson! ...................hamer..................... .....Wasyl....Huth.....Upson........ ..RDL..............................Schlupp .........Drinkwater...James........... ...Albrighton...................Mahrez... ..................Kramaric.................... Subs: Schwarzer, Morgan, Konchesky,Cambiasso(brake), Knockaert, Ulloa, Wood(if fit) Sorry, sarcasm don't come across to well on the internet.
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Cambiasso not being shackled by defensive duties = the best Cambiasso. IMO. It doesn't matter he's traditionally been a DM. He's older now and needs to move a little further forward to pull the strings.
Dan Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I've said it elsewhere but I think he's been guilty of over-estimating his team-mates/own physicality or even both, and gets forward a bit too much. Considering he actually does this, it makes sense to play another defender to cover for it. His on-ball quality is unquestionable and would not look out of place at any team in the league, well except maybe us
orbison Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I think Huth is cup tied? If so: Hamer De Laet Wasyl Moorsyl Konch James Cambi Alrbrighton Nugent Mahrez -----------swapping positions all game------- Kramaric Subs; Schwarz, Simpson, Knocky, Drinkwater, Ulloa, Vardy really agree with this, looks decent, i personally think schlupp and ulloa need benching on present form.
sphericalfox Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 This game is going to be who wants to lose it more. With Lambert gone, it'll give us an excuse.

Against other teams who don't play like that it might not be as effective? Vile will have a lot of possesion, they will be passing it sideways all night, they will have no where near the threat arsenal have though, if they play direct we should tear them to pieces, that cvnt clarke will get a few digs I hope

Ergo - we just gave to play our own game. I imagine we may well go 3 at the back to see if we can play it without Huth. anything could happen now. Villa may play 2 up top!
Callabinho Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Mahrez Cambiasso Mahrez Cambiasso Mahrez Cambiasso Mahrez Cambiasso Mahrez Mahrez Kramaric Thoughts?
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Bloody Burnley drawing at Old Trafford..
Callabinho Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Lambert sacked. ****ing typical. Shit, wanted him in CDAM.
