I am Rod Hull Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Did Huth play for Stoke against Wrexham? yep, just checked
Number 6 Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Hamer Simpson Was Wes Konchesky Albrighton James Cambiasso Schlupp Mahrez Kramaric Early goal would mean Lambert getting all sorts of earache.
Mark Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 Clarke will probably end Kramarics season knowing our luck.
Grewks Posted 10 February 2015 Author Posted 10 February 2015 Amazing this, really. Pre kick off back 5 was the stupidest idea going now it's the way forward. It's an option, not one i'd pursue I think we go 4-4-2, we're against a team that struggles against most back fours anyway but I guess if we go with 5 I'd be confident of them not scoring and if we get a replay there is only one winner in my eyes. I've suggested 5 for a while.....
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 February 2015 Posted 10 February 2015 I've suggested 5 for a while.....i At the back You should apply for the San Marino job if so, I've not seen you suggest it once, nor would I want to play it again on a regular basis its the kind of formation that drives wenger crazy so fair play to Nige tonight but I wouldnt want us sticking five at the back against teams around us. If we just picked the right two I feel we'd be better off. As I say it's all about what works best for you primarily and what works against the team your playing, five across the back line against Villa is a waste of a player if you ask me, only need four to keep them out.
cjslcfc Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Wouldn't go with 5 at the back. We don't need to against a team that has scored 12 goals all season!!! My team would be Hamer De Laet Was Morgan Konchesky Mahrez James Cambiasso Schlupp Nugent Kramaric I think that's our best team with Huth cup tied. Think with that team we will get a good win. Just need to turn in the performance we had against them at our place!
ACF Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I would go with at the back, purely for the continuity of a system we'll be using in the next few fixtures. Keep as close to the same team as possible, reward those who gave a good performance against Arsenal, rest Cambiasso and give Hammond or Drinky a run. RDL in for Konch.
RowlattsFox Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Shame Huth is cup tied as id like to see the same team. We need to pick a side and shape and stick with that. Wasyl in for Huth in only change for me. Maybe de Laet in for Simpson, hopefully Cambiasso can give us an hour.
Sunbury Fox Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I think we should stick with the 3CBs. It gave Cambi and James more freedom to push forward. I'd go: Hamer Was Wes (only cos Huth is suspended) Upson RDL Cambi (or if he needs a rest, DD) James Konch Mahrez Kram Schlupp
st albans fox Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Back three with wing backs but Only if upson is fit Can't play a back 5 against vllla - they never play enough men forward The others dont have the capability - need to be comfortable on the ball Expect DD to play i/o EC Nuge behind krama in our Standard 4-4-1-1 assuming upson won't make it Whether I think thats right or not, I believe that's how he will start
Grey Fox Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 The shape has looked decent for the first 45 minutes to be honest. 2 Terrible individual errors...from players which should be dropped at villa. ..........................................Hamer ..............Was.....................Huth...................Upson .RDL............................................................................Schlupp .............................James.............Cambi ......Mahrez.............................................................Albrighton ........................................Kram Maybe swap kram and albrighton to start ulloa instead. That's the exact team I picked this morning, before I read this. IMO that team until the end of the season would give survival a real go. Just because a couple of the others won one of their own winnable games, and we lost away to a top 4 team, doesn't mean we are dead yet!

You need that power and pace running if you start Kramaric, not what Allbrighton can offer. Although if you play Ulloa (who has been shit recently) then you can start Allbrighton
crisp packet Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Hamer Was Moore upson Delat James Cambiasso shlupp Albrighton mahrez Kramaric More pace and quality ?!? Minimal changes ...give it a go ...?
General Smuts Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 If Nugent plays I riot. As it's the cup and rotation required I'd like to see; Hamer Simpson - Moore - Was or Upson if fit - RDL Mahrez - Drinkwater - James - Schlupp Vardy Kramaric Wouldn't mind 5 at the back as an extra game to get used to it, expecting to see it used against Everton and Man City. Wouldn't expect to see it against a weak Villa team though. Mixed feelings about seeing us go through as well. Could do with focusing on the league.
Nick Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 We've struggled to retain possession all season - last night we looked like we could hold the ball and that was because we played they system we did. Hard to justify dropping Konch after last night. It all occurred to me that his hoofing in previous games may be due to having nobody to pass to when under pressure. Cambiasso needs to sit in front of the 5 he was incredible against the gunners.
Benguin Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I would love to see that team So Mahrez puts in a class performance and you bench him? You sound like Pearson! ...................hamer..................... .....Wasyl....Huth.....Upson........ ..RDL..............................Schlupp .........Drinkwater...James........... ...Albrighton...................Mahrez... ..................Kramaric.................... Subs: Schwarzer, Morgan, Konchesky,Cambiasso(brake), Knockaert, Ulloa, Wood(if fit)
RedSoxUK Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 I'd rest a few given the Prem really is our focus and I reckon we can do Everton over. Hamer Konchesky Moore Morgan RDL Schlupp Hammond King Albrighton Nugent Kramaric
MikeyT Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Hamer De Laet Wasyl Huth Upson Schlupp Mahrez James Cambiasso Albrighton Kramaric Basically the side that started yesterday, minus Morgan.

Ollie93 Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 ...................hamer.........................Moore.......Wasyl.........Upson(If fit)......RDL..............................Schlupp....................James.................... ............Knockaert........................Albrighton...................Mahrez.....................Kramaric.................... Subs: Schwarzer, Morgan, Konchesky,Cambiasso(brake), Drinkwater, Ulloa, Wood(if fit) It's the cup, lets go out like a team with confidence and go for the win, attacking as possible, keeping that 5 at the back. From what i've seen of Villa recently they don't look like they are creating many chances, definitely less than Arsenal, allowing Schlupp to push into a more midfield/attacking role. I'd give Knocks a chance, he might have something to prove and the cups the perfect chance to do that.
kingcarr21 Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Hamer De Laet Wasyl Huth Upson Schlupp Mahrez James Cambiasso Albrighton Kramaric Basically the side that started yesterday, minus Morgan. and Konchesky
kingcarr21 Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 As with the Arsenal i will stick to my 4-1-4-1 formation. Hammond did a good job for us at the start of the season so im surprised he doesnt even get a look in now. Give Hamer the FA cup games and let him prove his worth. Hamer Simpson Huth Was Konch Hammond Mahrez Cambiasso James Schluup Kramaric I noticed someone put Huth is cup tied. If thats the case then stick Upson in for the cup and give Morgan a rest. Wouldnt begrudge seeing De Laet play at either LB or RB.
LCCFox96 Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Test the system that worked well enough for us again but with different personnel to last night. Hamer Simpson Moore Wasilewksi Morgan Konchesky Albrighton James Hammond Knockaert Kramaric
dbtcity Posted 11 February 2015 Posted 11 February 2015 Upson limping off with 50 mins gone says to me there is no chance he will be fit for Sunday, I'd go Hamer Was Morgan moore Rdl Schlupp james Drinkwater mahrez knockaert Kramaric Keep to the same formation as yesterday as I think it looked like it worked so well for our style of play, looked solid at the back (although Huth contributed massively to that) we looked dangerous going forward and actually looked like we could keep the ball, granted villa won pose the sort of threat that arsenal did but regardless we need to get a formation that works for us and stick to it, cambiasso would be in over dd but I think we've got to rest him
