Matt Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 We're already gone though imo, if you asked me before last weekend when we were only 3 points adrift had a winnable home game against Palace and a tough but on our day we could have got something at Arsenal and I'd have said forget the FA Cup game focus on staying up, but we lost both and results went against us (which we cannot blame, we blame ourselves for the sorry position we're in, no one else) and we're now 5 points adrift with some tough games still coming up, imo it's only a matter of time till we're relying on other teams results to go in our favour - never a good situation to be in or be reliant on. Therefore keep one eye on the league just in case it turns our way but imo at this current time that's gone, we're gone, therefore prioritise the FA Cup in a year that it now looks quite winnable, albeit still tough. And I'm not really a fan of cups, I'd normally always choose to focus on the league, but we're royally ****ing that up.
melrose Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Sorry mate this is total s**t. The Premiership is the be all and end all these days. Ask Wigan fans what they would have preferred! Absolute bollocks! A magical FA cup winning year would easily trump a mediocre year near the bottom of the prem.
Jimmy Lad Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Absolute bollocks! A magical FA cup winning year would easily trump a mediocre year near the bottom of the prem. Guess we will have to agree to disagree then. Rotherham year on year or Arsenal year on year is a no brainier for me despite how competitive we are. FA cup win would be glorious and history making but the Premership is the bread and butter that will ultimately shape our future. Ask Portsmouth fans
lestajigs Posted 12 February 2015 Author Posted 12 February 2015 Sorry mate this is total s**t. The Premiership is the be all and end all these days. Ask Wigan fans what they would have preferred! No chance, I wanna see us win the FA cup, in my life time, and this is the best chance were going to get at it it in a long time
Filbert_Ross Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Leicester winning trophies is the be all and end all for me.
Filbert_Ross Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Have Wigan & Portsmouth fans said they'd rather of not won the FA Cup or something?

Jimmy Lad Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 We could have another season in the prem and go down that year so why not choose the cup?Or we could go from strength to strength and become the next Southampton.. Guess we will never know!
Filbert_Ross Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Bet Forest fans would rather of not won the European Cup than be in the Championship right now.
Webbo Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 If we win the FA Cup I wouldn't give a shit about relegation. And I don't think any City fan would, we are in the game to win silverware, the fact that we as a club haven't won the FA Cup in our history is shite. We can f**king do it. Spot on. If we win the cup I can die happy.
Donut Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Whilst obviously the Premier League IS the place to be A Leicester team winning the FA cup will be remembered forever by fans and the history books. And for a club of our stature, it would be a huge success.
Jimmy Lad Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Have Wigan & Portsmouth fans said they'd rather of not won the FA Cup or something? Clearly not but I am sure you understand the point I am trying to make considering what has happened to them since winning the Fa Cup
Corky Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Clearly not but I am sure you understand the point I am trying to make considering what has happened to them since winning the Fa Cup And it doesn't have to happen to us. Portsmouth won the FA Cup with money they didn't have, for one thing. Wigan- no idea what's happened but they managed to finish fifth last season so the following year wasn't a disaster.
Witton..arms Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 THE WITTON ARMS, B6 6SN, Welcomes all Leicester City fans to use our Pub, before and After the Villa game on Sunday, Doors Open from 9:AM, 2 Minutes walk from Witton Train Station, and 2 Minutes Walk to Away Stands at Villa Park, ALL WELCOME, SPREAD THE WORD.

Wigan- no idea what's happened but they managed to finish fifth last season so the following year wasn't a disaster.Agree but I can't recall any team who recently finished bottom 3 of the premier league and won the FA Cup and came back stronger for it.
Webbo Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Agree but I can't recall any team who recently finished bottom 3 of the premier league and won the FA Cup and came back stronger for it. We're more than likely going to end up in the bottom 3 anyway, how is winning the cup going to make that worse?
Filbert_Ross Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Agree but I can't recall any team who recently finished bottom 3 of the premier league and won the FA Cup and came back stronger for it. Maybe because there has only been one team in the entire history of the Cup that has won the FA Cup and gone down.
Jimmy Lad Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 We're more than likely going to end up in the bottom 3 anyway, how is winning the cup going to make that worse?Totally agree. I would love to win the FA Cup. Been watching City for 35 years and I have been waiting a long time. The point raised by the earlier poster however was that they couldn't care less if we were relegated as long as we won the cup. To this I can't agree.
Harry - LCFC Posted 12 February 2015 Posted 12 February 2015 Sorry mate this is total s**t. The Premiership is the be all and end all these days. Ask Wigan fans what they would have preferred! If Wigan fans would've taken an extra season in the PL they're fools. Wigan were always likely to find themselves in the position they're in now eventually - they simply aren't a big club. That was their only chance to win anything and they've done it. Scary that people would even consider sacrificing that for a few more years in the top division,
Matt Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Or we could go from strength to strength and become the next Southampton.. Guess we will never know! Weren't Southampton half decent last season and had something to build on (despite selling a lot of those players from the previous season) we're dogshit to start with we will not be the 'next' Southampton. As for the Witton Arms I warn people you are charged to get in there, only £2 but even so abit of pisstake having to pay to get in somewhere where you're going to spend a few quid on Ale.
Dan Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 People STILL think certain clubs' demise is due to a cup win. Absolutely brainwashed.
Guest Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Even pre season I'd have taken FA Cup n relegation.. Pretty sure I'm not gonna see us win the league in my lifetime but having already seen us lift the League cup twice and get promoted to Prem loads of times, the FA the next best thing I could see.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Would be great to see us progress in the cup
Dan Posted 13 February 2015 Posted 13 February 2015 Would be great to see us progress in the cup Don't be ridiculous. Obviously if we win this weekend it means we'll be docked league points. That's why Portsmouth are where they are now. Nothing to do with their owners, that bastard FA Cup!!!

Nothing to do with their owners, that bastard FA Cup!!! Daft thing is they've set aside so many weekends for it, that it barely clogs the fixture list up unless you are in Europe
