Best footballer you never saw

Reputation etc. I'm sure that not many of us saw Sir Tom Finney play but he was undoubtably a great player.

Just ignore me, I was only jumping in before some other smart arse said it.

As for the q, I'd go Rowley as well. In terms of all time, someone like Dixie Dean.

Frankie Wortho.

Stood next to him in the urinals at Toddington services on the way to the Derby play off final.

Hundreds of City fans in the bogs singing "there's only one Frankie Wortho" as he pissed all over his brogues with embarrassment.

Zidane, ... By a million miles, watched Real Madrid play Malaga approx 2005/6?....glided his way around the pitch.. Beautiful to watch.

Thought the thread was about the best Leicester player you never saw play. Did we sign Zidane when I wasn't watching lol

I love the fact that this thread is about the best Leicester player you never saw play and you've gone with a player who never played for us who you did see play lol

I'll go with Davie G. Not that Davie G but the other one. Lineker, Lynex and Wortho would have been good too.

Gordon Banks I guess.

Ah, Mark, you would have appreciated him. His anticipation of where the ball would come, was second to none. I can remember newspaper reports that described him as being "more reliable than Superman"! He was.

Izzet

Can't believe there's young dudes on here that never saw Muzzy play. I feel really bloody old now!

Only seems like yesterday that him, Lenny and Savage were bossing midfields across the lands - happy days.

Izzet was quality. Great touch, great vision, great range of passing and scored some pearlers. Chelsea should never have let him go.

Gary Coatsworth

You missed a real treat.

He definitely had the best hair cut of any Leicester player - ever. Like bald with an inch rim of hair. Remember his first few touches in a Wembley final ending up in row Z. Then he went on to own a pub in Broughton Astley I think. Good luck to him.

not leicester but I saw and met maradona in Naples in just before Italia 90 , my uncle was a leading mechanic with boats the owner of Napoli had a huge boat and my uncle had to fly out and service the engine and fix a few issues was a 6 day trip he took me with him for company , Napoli we're going to be champions and he knew the owner as he had serviced the engine before and the owner liked him , the owner Mr Ferlindio invited my uncle pat and me to the game that weekend and after the match Diego Maradona came to the club owners suite we were in there and I got to shake Maradona's hand , funny wasn't the famous hand , NO CAMERA , NO PHONES for pictures but the memory of the day a true sporting God shook my hand , I was 15 and when we got back from Italy no one believed me , till uncle Pat produced his programme team sheet signed by one Diego Maradona , he later donated that to a charity auction and some one paid €500 for it , looking back I really didn't have a clue how lucky I was to have had that experience

The chap who posted it said: "and I was wondering what is the best Leicester player that you never saw and wish you could have?"

Just saying...

Weller I suppose. Lynex, Lineker, Gibson all contenders. :dunno:

Like said above, can only really judge by reputation. Fortunate enough to have been a kid through the Little and O'Neil success of recent years including being in the Kop for our mugging by the refs vs Atletico.

I was there in pen 1 aswell joke that game was

Saw the Brazilian Ronaldo play twice for Barca when Bobby Robson was manager. Scored a hat-trick both times, as they beat Athletico home and away (who were champs at the time).

Best player in a LCFC shirt? Saw Lineker many times and he was an assassin, and I'd rate Worthington up there too
