Naughty Nigel calling a reporter a pr*ck

Normally these things go unnoticed, but in this instance it's all been blown out of proportion by the media because we are bottom.

No, they dont go unnoticed.

We all noticed when Pardew had a few spats on the touchline, with Wenger, when he put his head towards Meyler.

We all noticed when Joe Kinnear started swearing in a press conference and looked an idiot at Newcastle

We all noticed Di Canio's touchline antics at Swindon and Sunderland.

And we all thought how stupid they looked. How stupid they had made their clubs  look too.

Pearson has had 5 completely avoidable incidents in the space of a few months.

And rather than being condemned for those actions, we have people who find them justifiable and funny.

We will have to see if the board find it funny in due course. Considering theyve wanted him gone once, odds are they wont see the humour.

Its quite simple as i see things, do you see other managers acting like this on a regular basis?

No.

Now why might that be?

Well, I haven't seen Pearson acting like this on a regular basis either, so what's your point exactly?

Posted

Hardly.

So far this season weve watched our manager, the figurehead of our club:

Tell a fan to FOAD

Strangle a player

Get into a public spat with a club legend, talking about tax bills and slagging off pundits paid to give opinions on tv

Put a ban on communication with local radio

Tell a journalist that is is a p***k

Funny that i havent seen any other managers do that this season.

Highly unprofessional.

Which doesn't exist. He doesn't talk to Stringer, that's all. Nothing is stopping Radio Leicester from sending another reporter but they never do that.

In what way am I trying to justify his actions. I'm just merely pointing out the sort of exaggeration that is used all over the place, especially in the media. In what world has absolutely any fan who has moaned been told to "**** off and die". It was one fan. One arsehole fan by all accounts. He shouldn't have said it but it doesn't in any way highlight that "anyone who moans about it gets told to **** off and die".

Ok, any Leicester fan Pearson is in earshot of caught moaning. The blokes a tit. In the space of 9 months I have gone from loving the man to despising him.

Don't lower yourself buddy

We all noticed when Pardew had a few spats on the touchline, with Wenger, when he put his head towards Meyler. - Very stupid, Agreed. Pearsons was not like this in any way at all (as much as the media tried to make it look that way)

We all noticed when Joe Kinnear started swearing in a press conference and looked an idiot at Newcastle - Oh dear a bad word? Every manager swears on the touchline infront of fans.

We all noticed Di Canio's touchline antics at Swindon and Sunderland. - Passion, Looked an idiot? not sure...

And we all thought how stupid they looked. How stupid they had made themselves look too.

You think United fans know about his spat with some idiot at radio leicester?

You think united fans know about him swearing in a press conference today? (You think it will be on the front pages tomorrow?)

The "Strangle" was nothing more than harmless fun between the two, The player and manager both said so, the media swooped in to try and brainwash people like you it was more than that when it really wasnt.

The Gary lineker thing was 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other, nobody came out looking good there, and it was garys initial statement that done the damage.

So the spat with the fan, the spat with Lineker and MOTD, the spat with McArthur, the spat with Stringer, and the spat today were all my imagination. My bad.

Yeah, he's starting to do my head in now as well. What I don't understand is why some people (not you, you haven't really twisted anything) seem to be trying to twist absolutely everything against the man to suit their argument. Realistically the strangle wasn't really a "strangle" and the response was to a fan and not "fans".

Yes, they do know, thats the whole point. Fans of other clubs think our manager is a highly amusing bully boy who spits his dummy out and acts unprofessionally.

Carrying yourself with dignity really is not hard.

So what if they think that?

The only opinions that matter are that of the owners because they are the ones that can take any sort of action.

A lot of people think Mourinho is arrogant and don't like him, so what?

Put it this way. Do you think the owners are going to want to see their manager being involved in all of these incidents?

Im not sure Pearson cares much about his own reputation or what his employers currently think. Hes not adding any credit to himself from either angle

The FOAD comment was justified.

The touchline meeting with McArthur was hardly a spat.

If you were the manager, you'd have a spat with Stringer, too. It's all banter, anyway.  :) Btw, what do you make of that throat-cutting gesture by a public broadcast employee made towards Pearson?

The post-match comment wasn't a spat, but a snide (and understandable) comment made whilst the mic was still on - the "journalist" at the other end was asking the same stupid question over and over again.

So, yes. Just anything peculiar to make your blood boil.

Meanwhile, Africa mourns another few casualties caused by malnutrition, HIV or other viruses.

I don't think want to/like to see him in any incidents, no. But my point was I doubt the opinion of other fans really matters.

Thought at first maybe he's saying it to the guy at the front who comes up cause he says something.

That god damn stare though.. jesus.

Sorry Bono. Didn't realise this was a Unicef forum?

I think what Pearson said is funny and I don't really care how professional it is.  Pearson is the same prickly, no nonsense character he has always been, and the fact he doesn't snuggle up to the media in today's media obsessed game is something to be applauded in my opinion.

People's opinions will differ, but I wonder whether that's due to Pearson's behaviour in this instance or because of our poor season.  Would the same people who are slating him for this be laughing their heads off if he had said it last season when top of the Championship?

How many people, in whatever they do for a living, have called someone a name or otherwise criticised a co-worker or client who has been an idiot?  I bet all of us have, we just don't tend to have cameras rolling when we do it.

Posted

He's turning this club into a laughing stock and yet again the papers will be running a story about him & the club for all the wrong reasons.

As soon as he has gone the better, for both us & himself because at the minute I think he's losing it mentally.

Why would you assume id have a spat with the local radio? just answer the questions.

I wouldnt put myself in a position where anything i did on the touchline could be interpreted as a spat.

The throat cutting gesture was equally highly unprofessional, and i will not condone that either.

And the last bit is just a daft first world problems statement that adds nothing.
