Naughty Nigel calling a reporter a pr*ck

HIs conduct this season has been appalling, it's left me totally shocked, the pressure of the PL has well and truly topped him over the edge.

Posted

Hardly.

So far this season weve watched our manager, the figurehead of our club:

Tell a fan to FOAD

Strangle a player

Get into a public spat with a club legend, talking about tax bills and slagging off pundits paid to give opinions on tv

Put a ban on communication with local radio

Tell a journalist that is is a p***k

Funny that i havent seen any other managers do that this season.

Highly unprofessional.

All this and his latest outburst where he clearly calls a journo a p***k. As other posters have suggested you have to question his current state of mind, he should leave now for the best interests of the club and his health!

I like that he's a sore loser. It shows he actually cares for the club, and yes he has acted strangely this season, but clearly he's passionate about winning and doesn't react well when we're not. Fergie was like that too, and although I'm not comparing the two, it's not exactly the worst trait to have. Better than Holloway who was so positive in our relegation scrap and that we were too big to go down

He can't hack it..he's lost the plot!!!

If he cared for the club hed have realised by now that he is out of his depth and handed in his resignation

its his job. he cares about his family first as we all do. why the **** would he resign and lose all that money. you woulndnt

That just emphasises he don't give a **** about the club...its just ££££

He's completely failing to handle the pressure, as so many others have said. All he needed to say was "No comment". If he's this tetchy as this about everything it's no wonder the team looked like a rabbit in the headlights yesterday.

I haven't read through the entire thread so probably I'll be repeating what some others have said but some of the first few posts saying 'hallmark of our desperate to be offended culture' are way off the mark. I'm not offended by what he said, the journalist was probably a ****, most of them are. But it's hugely unprofessional again and doesn't benefit the club in any way. If he had created a siege mentality at the club and we were 10th in the league we could just about forgive it. But a bit more humility would be nice when we're bottom of the league just before Easter with 19 fvcking points.

It's an over-simplistic comparison and one that's been made a thousand times but you can't do that at your work. Every job has an element of PR attached to it, especially in Premiership football which is the most broadcast league in the world. If he can't hack journalists asking stupid questions (after a stupid display from the team) he's in the wrong business. The posters defending him to the last and making themselves look silly. People were hacked off about 'chill out and have a sandwich' which is pretty tame compared to all the shite from this season.

They're both going to have the same ending, so who cares?

Oh and why can't we write ****?

|What surprised me was what Pearson actually had a problem with, it wasn't the probing of the 'referee red card incident' but the Waxing or waning question.

He clearly says "Waxing and waning... f***ing p***k... chunter, chunter... etc."

To me it was a valid question; to mean 'do you feel your survival bid is on the up (after a point at home after lots of loses) or on the way down (after a point at home after lots of loses)'?

I.e. is your glass half full or half empty, no need for the arrogant reaction to what was a decent question (both on and 'off' the mic)!

Post an interview of any of those 3 calling press "fvckin pr!cjs". Yeh, they get irritated, but they're PROFESSIONAL enough not to resort to offensive language that is unacceptable from a manager in public.

As far as im concerned, from this point on, any Nige we trust tossers can fvck off and die.

End of.

How about Brian clough?

What would you lot make of Big Nige if he did this?

If 'Big Nige' had won some Premier League titles and European Cups he can say what he likes. Christ, if he'd kept us up and won a trophy he could say what he likes. You're not comparing apples with apples.

This place is so ridiculous at times. People who have used the most vilest language about Pearson are now offended by the word pr ick. People who condemned Stringer for asking awkward questions are now defending a journalist for doing the same.

Calling for Pearsons head for the disaster of a season we've had is completely understandable and undeniably correct but making a big deal about fvck all, which this is, is petty, spiteful and pathetic.

Top post that Webbo, totally agree.

So this isn't about what he said? It's about what's happening on the pitch?

Why do medals and trophies matter? If a manager has a European Cup medal or whatever, he can say what he likes? Rubbish. Still got to act professionally. People forget managers/footballers are only people too, I would have got wound up by the stupid questions this reporter asked.

Because the context matters. Winning trophies doesn't give anybody more of a right to treat people badly but it does mean that they will get more leeway from their employers if they do, because they're more valuable to the organisation. Why do you think the BBC have pissed about with Clarkson for years? If he was shit at his job he'd be gone already.

Pearson is digging his own grave.

'Big Nige' coud heabutt some of these lot's Mum and they'd be saying "well, she kind of had it coming".

On it's own you can maybe let it slide, but coupled with all the other incidents it shows an unprofessional, unhinged bully. That's before we get into the embarrassin 19 points from 28 games. Please get out of my club.

Context doesn't matter, you treat people the same if you've won 30 trophies or none. Being a winner doesn't give you the right to belittle people in public.

It's either acceptable for all or unacceptable.

How was the question stupid?

Pearson said in the past that his players dont surround referees and Steve Bruce accused of just that.

Perfectly reasonable question considering the events at Chelsea.
