Naughty Nigel calling a reporter a pr*ck

Do you love the local lout when he twats someone? The local pisshead for hurling abuse at people?

A good point.

It seems every time he loses his cool, behaves like a bully, does something confrontational or funny, that there's a whole resurgence of support for him by people who for some reason admire a bit of oafish, inarticulate abuse. There was an article published about him recently which made several references to him behaving like a playground bully and people on here loved the portrayal of the man, as if those qualities were desirable. We saw it when he yelled 'f off and die' - appalling professional conduct in the public eye for which he was rightly banned - some people genuinely admired that, as if it summed up their own feelings towards many of their own fans.

There's a very unpleasant, aggressive edge to Pearson's character; confrontational to a degree which is very unusual even in high level football management; and it seems to appeal to some of those who are more confrontational and intransigent in their support for the man. I honestly believe that this faction of our support (which also, largely, incorporates those who would rather us go down with Pearson than stay up with him, and those who think we have no right to think it's realistic to play in the Premier League, or remember anything that happened before Craig Levein was in charge) have been an incredibly divisive force this season. And I wouldn't be surprised if they'd had an influence on him remaining at the club.

He's an embarrassment to this football club. Why does he feel the need to have these outbursts at people who are merely doing their job? When he isn't doing his properly (which is all the time), anyone who moans about it gets told to "f#ck off and die". The irony of his hypocrisy is embarrassing. Can't wait to crack open the champagne when this idiot gets sacked.

. Bravo bravo well said. The guy is a useless, talentless c*nt. Should FOAD.

Seems John Percy has defended Nigel and said that the question was designed to provoke and the video shouldn't be taken for how it seems.

If he acts like this with press and the fans who dare to criticise him then I think it's fair to believe some of the stories about him falling out with players who dare to question him.

The fact that Albrighton hasn't even made the squad since his wife's post following the sacking says a lot. Whatever people's opinion may be of just how effective Albrighton has been he's surely a clearly better player than Lawrence.

Some people need to gwt a grip and stop being ao easily offeneded. It seams some supporters who are anti pearson are using every little thing to criticise the guy.

Do you think fergie, mourinio, wenger etc have never done the same?

Get a grip people!

Donut living up to his name...again.

Would you care to expand on that?

Obviously seeing your manager behaving in such a ridiculously obnoxious fashion is all well and good in your world.

How did we arrive at the utterly bizarre situation with this team, where a manager's position is strengthened every time HE acts like a p***k in the media?

Yesterday's dismal performance, no forget that, this whole dismal season can easily be glossed over now because big bully boy wants to play hard man and in the process looks ridiculous, but people like you absolutely lap it up.

Open your eyes. The guy YET AGAIN completely loses his rag over absolutely nothing. What was so offensive about the journalist or the question he asked? Absolutely nothing. He only repeated himself because he was getting short shrift because the arrogant Pearson couldnt be bothered to answer his perfectly legitimate question.

If he loses his temper so easily as what weve seen this season, how do you think that reflects on his ability to handle pressure. Or command respect? Do you think maybe this ridiculous side of him doesnt come out behind closed doors? You dont think some players have looked upon this behaviour and thought what a complete and utter knob?

So, please put me right p.rick...........whooops, i didnt like your question, it offended me and i lashed out.

Post an interview of any of those 3 calling press "fvckin pr!cjs". Yeh, they get irritated, but they're PROFESSIONAL enough not to resort to offensive language that is unacceptable from a manager in public.

As far as im concerned, from this point on, any Nige we trust tossers can fvck off and die.

End of.

Just watched the press conference back. Speaks of a man who really cannot control his behaviour in stressful situations and adopts a bullying attitude to whichever poor sod is doing their job. How this in some quarters is considered justifiable run of the mill banter etc is beyond me.

It's not acceptable and it does get reported and it does reflect badly upon our club... AGAIN. That's multiple incidents this season and in multiple environments.

'Big Nige' coud heabutt some of these lot's Mum and they'd be saying "well, she kind of had it coming".

On it's own you can maybe let it slide, but coupled with all the other incidents it shows an unprofessional, unhinged bully. That's before we get into the embarrassin 19 points from 28 games. Please get out of my club.

Think it just goes to show that keeping a failing manager in a job for this extended period of times benefits neither party, I mean look its obviously all effecting the guys mental health.

Not that his actions are justifiable though.

one wonders how he behaves in private with the squad and back room team. Suspect there are no issues or something would have leaked out.enough player have moved on and could have put the knife in.

So I'm not going to suggest that poor standards in public could be reflected by even worse in private. There is no evidence to support that. I already thought the owners had decided to get rid and yesterday's events only confirm this.

This place is so ridiculous at times. People who have used the most vilest language about Pearson are now offended by the word pr ick. People who condemned Stringer for asking awkward questions are now defending a journalist for doing the same.

Calling for Pearsons head for the disaster of a season we've had is completely understandable and undeniably correct but making a big deal about fvck all, which this is, is petty, spiteful and pathetic.

Part of any manager's job, especially in the Premier League, is dealing with the media. You're bound to get leading or pointed questions, espceically when we're playing so poorly, but you deal with it professionally.

He's quite clearly cracking under the pressure

Look we can bitch and moan and rightly look at the situation and justifiably conclude he needs to go

BUT

What's really worrying me is his mental state , the pressure is getting to him he is a shadow of the man that managed his team to a 5-3 win over man utd just a few months ago

His facial expression and eyes look dead , strain and stress is etched in his facial expression , his behaviour is more and erratic and bizarre he is embarrasing himself his family and the club , but in mitigation it's obviously NOT a true reflection of the man , it's because he is showing Classic stress related mental health issues.

I don't care is you want him in or want him out , what we should want is the club and his Backroom team to protect him a bit more , genuinly Im very concerned about the mans mental health

We are Fooked and look shot now and in the best interest of NP and the Club he needs to step out of the spotlight , sick leave , gardening leave , sack , what ever you want to call it , but the poor man needs supporting by the club and the best way is to take him out if the firing line

Using a boxing analogy , the club need to help there man and throw the towel in !!!! And give him a break or rest

To sum it up: Based on less than a handful of "incidents", which I'd claim are either justified or understandable (with one or two that are odd for my understanding), you create a "mountain out of a molehill" and a psychogram alongside with it. It's silly season on Foxestalk.

People who have met him in person paint a completely different picture of the manager as far as his character is concerned. Managers don't have to be likeable, they have to measured by what they deliver on a sportive basis, nothing else. And whether Pearson should or will remain at this club at the end of the season is nothing for me, you or any fan to decide.

The "support" that is often mentioned is not for him, but takes place within the success and failure under him. People who are labeled his "supporters" have equally pointed out his weaknesses and failures so far and have also been critical of him and his tactics. There is no "love" for the man - some fans are just fed up by the constant ridiculous accusations against him, accusations that are way too often blown out of proportion (in particular when we've not done well, which has been more often the case than expected, misled by the media whom they believe word by word - anything to support their own notion and agenda they've had against Pearson ever since he took care of the club (a second time). People who mistake a public persona for whom he really is and people who are essentially very picky in their negative argumentation.

Professionalism is what we want from a manager first and foremost, someone who can manage the pressures and deal with people who have a different opinion.

Nigel demonstrates the classic traits of passive aggressive behaviour in that any one who questions him (or is perceived to be questioning him) is met with hostility.

The question about the players surrounding the ref was a fair question and Nigel could have just answered it simply by saying "we never encourage that kind of behaviour here" or something to that effect. Instead, he turns aggression toward the reporter by saying "how many games have you been to?" and "you are qualified to comment" etc.

I worry about his mental state and he clearly needs help.

We are currently failing on the pitch and off the pitch. To preserve the integrity of our club the owners should step in and say "that's enough of that".

Posted

Leaders should be judged by two things, what they are delivering and their behaviour in how are doing it - Pearson over the last 6 months has failed spectacularly on the what, and is exhibiting increasingly erratic and worrying behaviour. In football that's surely long enough to be moved on. Can't imagine Top and co would tolerate similar anywhere else in their business so why here?

Posted

How people can defend Pearson now astounds me. Yes he is the manager of our football club, but then man has lost the plot. Someone on here listed the things that he had done this season and it was awful to read. Professionalism is completely abliterated.

He either needs to get some help or he needs to leave. Simple as that
