Bettsj2 Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Think the atmosphere will go from accepting the inevitable like yesterday to angry and abusive once we're mathematically down ,and pearson's bought it on himself , not that he'll give a toss either way .Think he's got off light to be fair , lucky we haven't had a few good hidings. Completely agree. I'm also pretty sick of people using the fact that we havent been spanked in support of Nigel staying. Its not a good thing that we've only just lost games!
foxfanazer Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 I've said it time and time again though, me speaking from a personal point of view if someone slags me off, questions or challenges something I do, I try harder, I make it my mission to prove them wrong - sometimes it doesn't work out, but I try my bloody best to do so. Now being competitive sportsmen I expect them to have the same mentality, now I guess if you're not good enough, if you don't have the quality there are times where you simply can't prove people wrong, you have to admit defeat and unfortunately fail and I guess that is where we are. Like I said I cannot question the players commitment, they have always tried this season but the fact is they're not good enough, zero-quality in this league. I just hope they bear that in mind if Premiership teams come in for them next season because they don't deserve the grace this league again, I want us to get promoted with these players (Who we all know what they're capable of in the Championship, they've done it before, doesn't necesserily mean they'll do it again but there will be no excuses for them) then if/when we get promoted I want an overhaul and those players out because as I keep saying they are no-where near Premiership level. I can only really understand booing playerd for a lack of effort because that is disrespecting the club and the fans but if we boo them for a lack of quality then we are guilty adding to the problem imo as it is going to achieve nothing. I was really disappointed yesterday and feel we are down and out but I just can't imagine feeling the need to boo
john ridley Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Completely agree. I'm also pretty sick of people using the fact that we havent been spanked in support of Nigel staying. Its not a good thing that we've only just lost games! Think it's only that that's kept him in his job .Never experienced a relegation season like this one before ,and I've seen a few since going down in the Mclintock disaster, no other manager has got off so lightly.
sdb Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Is anyone really surprised that our players are struggling to flourish when the atmosphere is so poisonous atmosphere at home? From the 5th minute every misplaced pass, poor touch or backwards pass was groaned upon. No wonder the players aren't willing to take risks and express themselves when the crowd get on their backs for the entirety of the game. Of course I'm not saying that's the reason for our impending relegation, because we just haven't been good enough in both penalty boxes but as fans we need to stick with the team for these last 10 games and see where that takes us. Whatever hour view on the manager just get behind the players and give them a chance. If we end up going down most of you will probably get your wish and Pearson gone so just get behind the team. Agreed. Didn't want to post the same as i'm too tired for the inevitable debate/arguments, but the atmosphere yesterday was very defeatist and sour, if only from a minority. The groans for any misplaced pass, the personal assaults on the manager, the 'we never score from a corner/set piece' chat, a few 'sacked in the morning' chants (class). The best was the standard chanting for Ulloa 5 mins into the second half when we were well on top. Great motivation for the XI. Then the same fans moan when he came on (yes, for Kramaric, but still encapsulates how some people just won't be happy whatever happens).
Danno Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 The booing of Tom Lawrence was worse. Dickheads. He's only played about 5 minutes yet people can't wait to slate the poor lad.
john ridley Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 It's going to get worse, people are pissed off , spent a lot of money to watch one good game all season , they're not all going to sit quiet and accept that .

He's only played about 5 minutes yet people can't wait to slate the poor lad.Don't think it was as imed at young Tom directly.More at clueless Nigel whacking s young lad in at the deep end when he's got experienced players who he refuses to hive a chance to. Young Tom will be another Ulloa,Krammy,Albrighton,Knocky....young potential players who Pearson can destroy!!!

It's not exactly rocket science on to bring a more attacking player on than De Laet who couldn't cross properly all game. Thought Lawrence played well and made some good passes, although everytime he miscontrolled the ball he'd get groaned at by all the ***** in the crowd.

Danno Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Probably been better in training and has a better attitude. Pearson can't fix the fact the fact that Knockaert's in France and that Albrighton doesnt work hard enough
Matt Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Probably been better in training and has a better attitude. Pearson can't fix the fact the fact that Knockaert's in France and that Albrighton doesnt work hard enough Ok 2 points there. Since when has Knockaert been in France and why is he there? How do you know Albrighton isn't working hard enough in training? Genuine questions, I'm not challenging your points, just curious to know the answers - Especially about Knockaert.
Corky Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Ok 2 points there. Since when has Knockaert been in France and why is he there? How do you know Albrighton isn't working hard enough in training? Genuine questions, I'm not challenging your points, just curious to know the answers - Especially about Knockaert. Knockaert's father is ill and was granted compassionate leave last week.

And Pearson said in his press conference that Knockaert has gone to be with his dad.
Raj Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Oh the old better in training crap!!! I couldn't give a fook about what players do in training especially as its hardly worked wonders this season!
Danno Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Oh the old better in training crap!!! I couldn't give a fook about what players do in training especially as its hardly worked wonders this season! Yeah you're right, we should reward people who put in zero fight and effort with a start every week. Really would show a good message to the playing staff.
Raj Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Knockaert's father is ill and was granted compassionate leave last week.So what about the rest of the season...ie since the season began!??
Matt Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Knockaert's father is ill and was granted compassionate leave last week. Fair enough, hadn't read that anywhere, knew nothing about it. Hope he gets better! Not that he'd get a chance of first team football, or even the bench for that matter should his father be fine and Knockaert was in England anyway.
Raj Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Yeah you're right, we should reward people who put in zero fight and effort with a start every week. Really would show a good message to the playing staff. Why the fook not,as long as they do it on the pitch where it matters???
Danno Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Why the fook not,as long as they do it on the pitch where it matters???Are you that much of a moron? Fair enough, hadn't read that anywhere, knew nothing about it. Hope he gets better! Not that he'd get a chance of first team football, or even the bench for that matter should his father be fine and Knockaert was in England anyway. He's been pretty dreadful when he's played though other than for about 10 mins in the Villa game.
Matt Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Yeah you're right, we should reward people who put in zero fight and effort with a start every week. Really would show a good message to the playing staff. Well let's be honest playing players who consistantly make mistakes, no matter how many they make still play week in, week out without even a threat of getting dropped isn't a great message to be sent out either. Especially when certain players have came in for cameo appearances, played reasonably well, impressed and get dropped the next week. Not a great message to be sending out and whilst it isn't the attitude to have maybe a reason why Albrighton (And maybe a few of the other players) is perhaps thinking what's the ****ing point anyway. As I said not the right attitude as I said earlier - when someone slags you off, it should push you to do better but at the same time could understand them thinking what's the point, getting the arse and not even bothering to try and impress and there are certain individuals who can make mistake, after mistake, after mistake and still get selected. So what about the rest of the season...ie since the season began!?? Agreed. Handy excuse for Pearson - I'm surprised Pearson even talked about or acknowledged Knockaert's existance in the press conference.

I'm not sure if that's true, after we beat Man Utd loads of people were saying that game was worth the price of their season ticket. How quickly fans opinions change.

foxinsocks Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 at the last home game against palace I look at the faces around me as the lads ran on - most were apprehensive yet willing the boys on. yesterday it was even more so - our supporters have be patient beyond belief... I believe they can see the players are really trying - and I was staggered that there wasn't a big backlash against NP yesterday.... and then Nige says some of the players aren't responding to the situation... well it is time he look a long hard look in the mirror and ask if he is responding... responding to a must win "cup final of a game" by playing such a cautious defensive set up... against hull... the best he could hope for was 0-0 and he got it. Meanwhile he has destroyed the confidence in so many of out players. This is just not good enough from NP and the board should say so.. when the going gets tough Nigel gets timid.
Raj Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 Are you that much of a moron? He's been pretty dreadful when he's played though other than for about 10 mins in the Villa game. Do you go to games Dan??What have the players been doing in training lately? Did you see James shooting and corners? With 11 games left you'd think we could have someone who's capable of taking a decent corner by now...or don't we practice them in training????
Matt Posted 15 March 2015 Posted 15 March 2015 He's made 11 appearances this season so it's hardly like he's been forgotten about. (In the league) 330 minutes. 3 full matches. 6 bit part appearances. Not been given a great chance, not when like I say some make mistake after mistake and are guaranteed their place (I'm aiming that more at the defence but it does apply in other positions).
