Babylon Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 Yeah I am so pissed that they didn't give Pearson this extra £100k to fund four weeks' wages instead of making a (FFP/tax deductible) charitable donation of £100k. I'm glad you're around C-man. I really do wonder if people think stuff through before they write it down.
cc_star Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 Is this their new signing? Where's he going to play? Robinson was gone before January though wasn't he? I don't blame Pearson for not strengthening in the summer but I do hold him accountable for not doing so in January. As for blaming the owners for not giving £100k to Pearson I'm not, as you (C-man) sarcastically say £100k makes no difference whatsoever, what I am saying is their obviously not shy with the money and I reckon they would have backed Pearson in the transfer window however I've seen some people question the fact the owners may have been holding money back. Who knows, Pearson's business is done behind closed door rather than in the press... The Thai's business is too As far as I can tell, nobody knows anything about January dealings, and whether more was available or not All we know is that one person has been sacked this season, and we can interpret the reasons why
LCCFox96 Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 A great touch from the owners. With all the negative news around the club recently with the sacking that never was, Pearson's outburst, the James McArthur incident and some really shocking performances, at least this shines a positive light on us. Important that the club is involved in the community too.
MooseBreath Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 He will fail his medical won't he? This is the medical that both Upson and GTF passed remember.
Maybes Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 My point, which should have been a fairly easy one to grasp, is that a donation of £100k proves nothing about their willingness to back Pearson in the transfer market. This isn't a case of either them holding back or NP being reserved, it is simply a case of prudent, risk averse management from all parties from a financial perspective. Unfortunately the signings from a footballing perspective (with the exceptions of Huth, Ulloa and Kramarić) were also too safe (ie no chances taken on another Mahrez) and NP's tactics have been off the scale of risk aversion. Still makes me laugh thinking about Pearson pre-season when he said we'd be signing no one that any of the media had heard off. Didn't exactly work out.
dsr-burnley Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Nice to have something associated with the city with a three after its name as that of the football team is normally followed by nil Still a loser though. The full result was Richard 3 Henry 7. A great away win for the Red Rose!
st albans fox Posted 21 March 2015 Posted 21 March 2015 Still a loser though. The full result was Richard 3 Henry 7. A great away win for the Red Rose! Tbf, it wasn't our team. Just played on a neutral venue. Bit like arsenal Sheffield wed in the cup at filbo.

Whoever picked the neutral venue, you got shafted big time. Right outside Tesco? No wonder he couldn't find his horse. Should have looked in the burger section.
