StanSP Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Could have used that £100k to bribe the refs for the rest of the season. Nothing else will work!
fleckneymike Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Very generous people http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-chairman-donates-100k-King-Richard/story-26201961-detail/story.html Thai's fund dead man whose best years are behind him with hundreds of thousands of pounds. That's one thing Pearson and King Richard have in common
MooseBreath Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Good signing imo. Play Richard III anywhere down the left and it'll be an improvement.
lgfualol Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Why do us folk have to pay to bury a bunch of bones
Alf Bentley Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Good signing imo. Play Richard III anywhere down the left and it'll be an improvement. I don't know. He could be like Mahrez, too lightweight. Needs to bulk up a bit and put some flesh on his bones. I'm a bit concerned about his temperament, too. I heard that he locked a couple of youth team players up in the changing room. Next thing you know, he'll be losing his head out on the (Bosworth) field, shouting "my kingdom for a cross" and losing his place to a young pretender from Wales. In the long term, though, he could be a good bet if we want to "park the bus".
Guest WarehamFox Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Fair play to him! Not his biggest waste of money since being here?
Mike Oxlong Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Nice to have something associated with the city with a three after its name as that of the football team is normally followed by nil
Corky Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 Great gesture. Fair play. Hardly, the bloke never attended a match.
johnny the fox Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 This thread is getting my back up..its really given me the hump..
RedSoxUK Posted 19 March 2015 Posted 19 March 2015 2.5m to re-bury a royal? I have a shovel. 4m to remove a car park and build a chav playground or 2.5m to house a York City fan, i'm not sure which one I like the least. Nice gesture from the owner though.
Matt Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 And people have suggested that lack of strengthening the squad may possibly be down to them not backing Pearson in the transfer market? Nah, I ain't having it.
Dan Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 They make the right move very often. Heads are screwed on.
Harry - LCFC Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 And people have suggested that lack of strengthening the squad may possibly be down to them not backing Pearson in the transfer market? Nah, I ain't having it. I think the more common argument was that Robinson might have been getting in the way of a few deals.
C-man Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 And people have suggested that lack of strengthening the squad may possibly be down to them not backing Pearson in the transfer market? Nah, I ain't having it. Yeah I am so pissed that they didn't give Pearson this extra £100k to fund four weeks' wages instead of making a (FFP/tax deductible) charitable donation of £100k.
Matt Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 I think the more common argument was that Robinson might have been getting in the way of a few deals.Robinson was gone before January though wasn't he? I don't blame Pearson for not strengthening in the summer but I do hold him accountable for not doing so in January. As for blaming the owners for not giving £100k to Pearson I'm not, as you (C-man) sarcastically say £100k makes no difference whatsoever, what I am saying is their obviously not shy with the money and I reckon they would have backed Pearson in the transfer window however I've seen some people question the fact the owners may have been holding money back.
weller54 Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 Good signing imo. Play Richard III anywhere down the left and it'll be an improvement. We've already got enough turds in the team!!!
weller54 Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 Would have been better spent paying off Pearson. Then burying him under a car park somewhere!!
Jace Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 Definitely a sign that they are about to sell up and run off with all the money
Jimothy Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 Are people really saying this proves they have money and their not using it on the squad!?! It's like your mates asking you to go to Australia and you saying you can't afford it, then moaning when you give a fiver to Comic Relief!
sishades Posted 20 March 2015 Posted 20 March 2015 Yet another example of the loan system being misused.

My point, which should have been a fairly easy one to grasp, is that a donation of £100k proves nothing about their willingness to back Pearson in the transfer market. This isn't a case of either them holding back or NP being reserved, it is simply a case of prudent, risk averse management from all parties from a financial perspective. Unfortunately the signings from a footballing perspective (with the exceptions of Huth, Ulloa and Kramarić) were also too safe (ie no chances taken on another Mahrez) and NP's tactics have been off the scale of risk aversion.
