hinds12 Posted 6 June 2005 Posted 6 June 2005 i was today told that a secret deal is going on behind closed doors with williams and hughes ready to sign for sunderland for 2.5mil for the pair. i for one am hoping this is not true as i believe they would be hard to replace. any one else heard anything about this story?

However, there's no question of them going because I doubt CL could replace them adequately. They each have way too much contract to run. If he had to trim the wages, Dublin and Wilcox would have gone. So there's no need to sell.

hinds12 Posted 7 June 2005 Author Posted 7 June 2005 i no that a lot of you think i am bullsh*ting in this thread and you want to know my sources, and you have to realise i dont want them to go anymore than you fans. i know i am probly going to be direspected for saying this but would you rather go to a premiership club or play in the championship for seasons to come. Lets face it we arent going anywere in the near future and we only just managed to finish 15th last season.

Dont know if anyone has heard of this guy but he was recently selt to Leicester from Rangers for a nominal fee. Sunderland are the other main contender for his signature but Pearce fanices his chances. He was actually looking at Darren Kenton when he saw Hughes playing for Leicester. The bid is supposed to be in the region of 1.7m. But his availibiltiy is unknown. Ill try and post more when i know. And if you are wondering how i get this info it is simply becuase i am the son of a board memeber. This is a rumour that Man City are looking at buying Hughes now.
Louise Posted 7 June 2005 Posted 7 June 2005 I don't think Hughes will leave this summer, he's new to English football and obviously loves Levein, I'd be more concerned about next summer as by then everyone will know how good he is and if we're not top 6 he'll be off.
