Or would you rather have a squad that has been carefully put together giving us the best chance of promotion? The non-playing staff are working very hard to give us the best chance of promotion next season. Where I know it's all very frustrating that nothing has been confirmed yet, Nugent will be the first and then the ball will start rolling.

The only time we've ever done that that I can remember is the Martin Allen season, and most of those were absolutely shite. The other close season that sticks in my mind was 1996 when I think we signed Muzzy Izzet on a permanent (who although had done well on loan wasn't anywhere near being the legend he was to become at that point) and Spencer Prior and Kasey Keller about 4 days before the opening game of the season, and that turned out alright. I KNOW things have changed since then, but it just makes me laugh to think how much people would be shitting themselves if that happened now
