  1. Would be interesting to see how the inside fit is going, looking at the outside I can't see any of it being ready for pre season, looks like there is so much paving, landscaping, tree planting to be done. Can't even see the water feature? Plus the indoor pitch still has no pitch!
  2. Legend of this football club! On Sunday I knew CL was unlikely but this was the only thing I really wanted to happen, great achievement for him to go with the many other things he's achieved for us! Scored record 11 in a row, PL winner, 4 PL player of the month awards, football writers player of the season, PL player of the season, scored at tournament for England, scored in CL for Leicester, consistently scored goals in PL 5 seasons in a row, PL 100 club member and now PL golden boot winner! If this guy don't deserve a statue when he retires who does! On a side note still waiting for the sky sports PL 100 club programme about vardy, so far they just stuck something on youtube, kane's was ready to play that evening! I'm sure they'll focus their attention on a programme dedicated to man United's world beating season to finish 3rd! Also golden boot achievement got a mention for about 10 seconds. At least his achievements mean everything to a club like Leicester and its fans!
  3. I think we'll comfortably be beaten, possibly heavily beaten! Most of our games against the big teams this season have gone the same way, very rarely look like winning, even if we don't deserve to lose we just do! Man u are 18 unbeaten? Not sure if that includes the cup? There's still a chance but its slim! I'm just glad we did bag a Europa league spot, we would have taken that at the start of the season and if we take it seriously we are in with a chance of winning it. If we don't manage to get CL I just hope we give it up with a fight and not just gift it away. Have been so sick of sky banging on about the race for the top 4 this season, yet not mentioning Leicester even when were were about 15 points clear of man u, spurs etc. Its almost like we're not allowed to be there. One last thing i hope for this season is that vardy can win the golden boot, he deserves it and I'd be very proud knowing that a Leicester player won it in the top flight, which again would have been unimaginable only a few years ago!
  4. Worst 45 mins since wolves away in 2003, 3-0 up at half time, heads dropped for the second half, lost 4-3! Think this was worse to be honest, they should hang their heads in shame, especially the back line, utterly shambolic l, literally gifted them goals and a red card. Starting to wonder if we'll hit the 60 point mark? Genuinely think we'll finish 6th, don't deserve European football on the basis of 2020 form.
  5. He's got 1 transfer window, and 6-10 games of next season to turn it around. Don't think we'll win again this season
  6. Think sky said they had 1 touch in our box first half!!! Abolute garbage of the highest order!!!
  7. Pressed them after the sending off, could have beaten them, but could of been 3-0 down at half time, so all in all a good away point!
  8. 5th or 6th, to maintain top 4 we need to win about 4 of 6 which based on the last 6 months form we've got no chance. You can't be a top 4 team if you can't beat at least 1 bottom half team in 3 consecutive games.
  9. Played well without really testing the keeper again. Plenty of hopeful balls into the box, some good build up play, but again no cutting edge, 3 shots on target 1 of which the goal was a deflected clearance off nachos face! Says it all really. Same as chelsea really everton were bang average 2 shots on target, 2 goals, nothing special, we are too easy to beat!
  10. One moment of slack defending and we're gone! Wheels have well and truly fell off! Played well but at the end of the day it was not good enough, chelsea were bang average too!!!
  11. I would take an FA cup win and no European qualification, I know that's not possible, but to win the FA cup for the first time in our 136 year history would be special, even with no fans present! All our local rivals have won the FA cup, albeit not within the last 30 years, but their clubs are still on the base of the trophy. Despite the lack of appreciation the FA cup is given in the modern era, it is still dominated by the big clubs and for clubs like ours it is still the holy grail. As someone once said there isn't a trophy for finishing in the top 4 and no one will remember you for it really!
  12. I'm getting so annoyed with the lackluster performances, Watford and Brighton are garbage teams and we should have enough quality to sweep them aside, yet we barley register a meaningful shot! Forget lockdown, these performances have been like this since December, can't breakdown the poorer sides and barley apply any pressure, get rolled over by the bigget sides. We only seem to win if a team turns up and can't be bothered. If we hadn't won 8 or 9 in a row we'd be struggling for a top half finish, teams in and around the top 6 have show much more quality in recent months than us, fact! You wouldn't mind if we'd had a bucket load of chances and just couldn't finish but we haven't, it's just poor, no plan b, pass the ball around well and retain possession but do nothing with it, no game changers on the bench, we need some quality signings to change games. Especially in the final 3rd out build up play is not penetrating and easy to defend, our movement going forward is very slow and static, not much movement off the ball or on it, players receive the ball and wait 5 seconds to see what they can do, by then the space is gone and they pass it sideways or backwards! At the moment Brendan seems to think any result is acceptable regardless of what we created or who it was against as long as we've had a minimum of 60% possession! Needs to improve, in a week or so we could be out of the FA cup and out of the top 4, with tough opposition still to play!
  13. Why does this always happen to us, score in the last minute only to throw it away in stoppage time! Happens time and time again, we need to score with the last kick for it to make a difference!
  14. With the training ground supposedly finished and out the way by July and the national grid building rumoured to be available to buy in December, do we think that the likely scenario is that we will have an announcement this summer, a planning application during next season (whenever that starts) and building work starting at the of next season (whenever that ends)? Ready for the start of the 2022/23 season?
  15. I hope the new wrap around is blue or white with the ability to light up at night, like le harves stadium or the alianz arena, would look so much better than the bland breeze block, concrete exterior we currently have. It looks like the vichai memorial garden has been slightly redesigned, not sure if that square behind is the indoor arena? Also don't like the idea of a multi storey car park, would look better if they move some parking under ground!
  16. This entrance still exists, see below link for proposed development of filbert street site https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/update-plans-30m-flats-complex-3609375 Why does the club not own this and have it in storage, why is it not outside the KP or at least have plans for it to be used in a club museum or something?
  17. He's half decent, but is he good enough for a club in the top 10 or that wants to regularly challenge for the top 4/6? No! Like others have said, he's a good squad player to have but he's had chances prove his ability and hasn't taken it and we have better players in that position. We've had him what 4 and a half years now and he's not got any better, he's very much proved that he can play in the PL but it probably needs to be with a bottom half team, if we had been fighting a relegation battle the last 4 years, we probably wouldnt have been able to sign the players we have and he would probably be a regular starter. If we do have offers and accept them he needs to decide if he's happy to be a squad player or if he wants to play regularly. He could end up being the next Andy King, theres no surprise that all our young talent have been signed up on bigger money 5 or 6 year contracts and he hasn't!
  18. I think we've taken the right stance unlike other clubs! If we were to put staff on 80%, we'd be accused of sponging of the government, whilst week in week out we pay some players over 100k a week. Footballers will always come under fire when times are hard for people, I've got no problem with players earning millions a year, they are effectively elite athletes and play a sport that requires huge amounts of talent and their careers are limited to 10 years at the top level if they're lucky! Football is a sport that is the most in demand from audiences, that's why tv broadcasters pay billions for it, if it wasn't football it would be something else! I would also argue that all premier league players would be paying about 40% in tax too, so when you think about it when you see 2 teams go head to head on a Saturday afternoon the 22 men on the pitch chasing that ball around pay more in tax than the 32k spectators watching them! It's unfair to take aim at footballers, they are far more big businesses contributing very little to our economy other than employing people! Some PL clubs should hang their heads in shame though, every team gets a minimum of £100 million, and as long as the season is completed they wont be out of pocket, so there is no need to seek government help or ask players to defer wages! Like some have said the premier league should probably be looking to help the leagues below because whilst Leicester City and its staff will be ok, Lincoln City etc. Might not be!
  19. I agree, party atmosphere, pure celebration and joy, followed by a quarter of a million people lining the streets and in vicky park. I doubt even liverpool will celebrate this much, the greatest thing ever to happen to our club!
  20. Fantastic player, gave everything for us, was key part of our success and stuck with us through some tough times. I remember when we went down in 2004 at the last home game I had a tear in my eye because I knew that when he was walking around at the end applauding the fans proudly wearing the captain's arm band, I knew that would be the last time I saw him in a city shirt, and it was! It was the end of an era, he was probably the last our golden generation and after he'd gone we just went nowhere fast! If I ever have a shirt printed, I still go for number 6 in his honour lol. Glad to know he still loves being in Leicester, Legend!
  21. I felt the same about that QPR game, they were money bags at the time and though they were unbeatable, we played well and beat them on their own patch. The best part of the game is when the ref stopped play because of a squirrel on the pitch, it wouldn't move until Nugent chased it off lol, he also scored the winner! Legend!
  22. I wonder if we'll do kind of what mk Don's did? When stadium mk opened it was 22k but the stadium was built deeper and with a higher roof than needed, it left an open void at the top of the stand with steelwork etc in place for extra tiers. They then added a 2nd tier all the way around bringing it to 32k and if they ever become anything other than a tin pot club they can add a final 3rd tier bringing it to 45k for minimal cost. It would seem odd spending nearly £100 million on redeveloping the KP and surrounding site but only making 1 stand bigger on the actual stadium, at least put the infrastructure into the stadium redevelopment so that the north and south stands could potentially have extra tiers for minimal extra cost in future.
  23. It all looks incredible! A real statement of intent, no expense spared! This looks better than st George's park and it makes liverpool's new one look like a pound shop training ground!
  24. Why do we not pressure teams, we just seem to back off and get back into shape. They put us under pressure and win throw ins, free kicks, corners. We do nothing! We didn't create a single clear cut chance against the worst team in the league, just a few daisy cutters straight at the keeper! If our so called young and talented squad can't perform at this level, then they need to be dropped, they shouldn't just get a starting place because they're 22/23 years old!
  25. We create almost nothing going forward, no support from the midfield and when they come forward we back off and are at times are all over the place! Their full back unleashes a shot from the corner of the box, ours would pass it backwards and retain possession because that obviously wins games!
