  1. I agree with previous comments, I genuinely think James maddison loves this club, all his interviews he does you can see a genuine passion for the club. I think he likes being the main man and sets himself targets of goals and assists. I remember when he won player of the season and he said he would have swapped it for a place in the ECL final, of course he wants personal success, his passion for winning the FA cup and community shield was immense. I've said it before, he is top quality, we couldn't buy someone like him for any less than £80m, he needs to be our highest paid player. Our current ones are coming to the end of their careers, maddison has a long career ahead of him!
  2. Absolute legend! Possibly our greatest ever player maybe along with kasper. So many records for him and leicester along the way, plus a huge amount of loyalty! Hopefully there will be a statue one day.
  3. Also our most successful periods 1929 we finished 2nd in the 1st division Between 57 and 69 we made 5 cup finals, winning 1 league Cup I thought 96 to 02 would be our most successful period, but the last 9 years really has surpassed everything. Still time for more!
  4. I think we need to be taking the FA cup and league Cup seriously and finish 7th and above. We should be aiming to be the best team outside the traditional top 6 and better than the west ham and wolves of the PL. Top 4 is not really achievable in my opinion, Europa League and Europa Conference is where we should be aiming.
  5. The worst thing is Roma we're garbage! Couple of chances in the 1st 10 mins and one in stoppage time, that was it. We just can't create anything, we really need a plan B. 63% possession though, we all know who the real winners are!
  6. There's been nothing on the planning portal for weeks. Do we think that work will start close season regardless of the hyrbrid application, as they have permission for the national grid building demolition and utilities works? I would think if they don't start in May/June then the stand won't completed until 2025. Also does anyone know if we have a contractor lined up or if it has been put out to tender etc?
  7. 26 or 29 points lost from winning positions whatever it is, probably one of the worst clean sheet records in the league, think its only 1 away from home. 3 away league wins away from home against soon to be relegated Norwich and Burnley, Brentford the other. Worst record in the league for conceding from set pieces!!! These are pretty pathetic stats all round!!! I'm a big Rodgers fan and there really isn't anyone better out there but this rubbish has been going on for about 18 months now. He can say how well we passed the ball around and controlled the game and we do which I'm really happy about but if uour team does not have the ability to deal with a simple ball into the box or a misplaced pass etc then what's the point? No idea how to kill a game off, no Idea how to nullify a team, they only need one chance and they walk away with something, it's pathetic. He's got the summer window but if these types of things are still happening regularly by the end of the year then there's no point in continuing with him!
  8. When he came in on loan he looked amazing, signed him permanently and that 19/20 season him and Chilwell were the weak links in the team, bloody awful, absolute passengers. Last season 20/21 he looked world class, best player in the team, sealed with the FA cup final winning goal, amazing, legend! This season, again absolute garbage! Scores the odd goal, makes the odd killer pass but can count the number of good games on 1 hand. He'll always be a legend for delivering our first FA cup and for that we are grateful, also he seems like a lovely guy but it's obvious that he thinks he's better than he is, he politely doesn't want to he here, and his performances are literally costing us games! Think I was done with him after spurs last min. All in all time to be dropped and give someone else a chance!
  9. This 2nd string team is bloody awful, loads of possession, created nothing, abysmal defending yet again!!! Gifted them goals out of nothing, so unprofessional. How are you supposed to challenge for European places when you throw games away against garbage? It's happened time and time again. Not that we deserved it. No shots on target 2nd half, shocking!!!
  10. Really surprised the club didn't get a batch of these made with the FA cup final embroidery and sleeve badge, they'd sell like hot cakes!!! Didn't really have much Winners merchandise at all, a scarf, a flag, a key ring and a few t shirts. Thought they'd at least produce a dvd/blu-ray with everything on plus community shield. Perhaps YouTube was just easier!
  11. The England national team is an absolute joke!!! Maddison has been in such consistent form since his return from injury. But no let's pick people we've never heard of, out of form, or coming back from injury! Southgate is just a FA puppet! Glad our lads will get a rest at least, but I hope they don't consider moves away because the mentality seems to be if you play for Leicester you don't get picked!!!
  12. Just seen the club have submitted a new planning application for this statue. All the detailed designs are on there. Looks like it stands 2.5m off the ground on what they describe as a Leicester blue marble plinth, with the statue itself being 2.7m high and Vichai himself giving a thumbs up. A really fitting tribute!
  13. Where are the leaders? Time for a reshuffle, get those that don't want to be here or aren't good enough gone! I know teams can have bad spells in games or the odd mistake but we just seem to make catastrophic errors again and again and have absolute shambolic spells in games. Rodgers can say young players make mistakes all day long but when they keep doing it are you supposed to persist with them? And when do they become an experienced professionals that are reliable? Some just aren't good enough!
  14. I never knew that filbert was a type of Hazel nut! I knew alot of the streets around were named after nuts, Brazil, almond, walnut, Hazel, but never knew the link to filbert! Learn something new every day. Think we should start calling our selves the knuts again. Then again some people might misread that.
  15. Not a bad video, if not 100% accurate. Hope the club do a GCI fly through etc, watched Everton's the other week and they showed everything from the concourse, to the lounges, bars, stands. I know we're not doing a whole stadium but there's a lot more going in to the actual stand that people realise, judging from the planning documents.
  16. I think despite Rodgers claiming to not know what this competition is, it's one that we should take very seriously. I don't like the fact that some of our fans seem to think we're too good for it. Our European pedigree is very poor by some people's standards. Yes we've done incredibly well to have 3 European campaigns in the last 5 years, more than our previous 50 years combined, so we can't turn our nose up at anything. Plus we don't currently have any other UEFA competition trophies in our cabinet. At present we are struggling and are almost on par with the likes of Brighton, Palace and Brentford, who I'm sure would kill to be in this competition. We're well off competing in the europa league at present and this is highly winnable. Some decent teams left in it, the obvious one being Roma as well as Basel, Feyenoord, Celtic, PSV. On our day we'll beat any of these over 2 legs. In years to come the conference league will seem more common as England get one place awarded to the League Cup winner I believe, so this will filter down to 6th or 7th place in the league, so we'll regularly see teams similar to ourselves or big six teams that have a bad season playing in the competition. Definitely not something to wash our hands of!
  17. Such a shame, some great performances from our younger players, battling hard for the team. Only to be let down by that absolute shambles of a defence! I think I would honestly swap any defence In the league for ours. This season the defensive collapses have been immense. Unable to keep clean sheets, throw away 2 goal leads, unable to see games out, let garbage teams score with their only half chance. We do literally need 4 goals a game to have any chance of winning. Why are we not moving in the transfer window?
  18. I genuinely think he's told to stay on his line and let defenders deal with anything that comes into the box, which they don't! He's a great shot stopper and decent in a one on one, he does have his flaws but he's one of the few that are willing to tear his team mates a new one!
  19. I'm very torn on this, similar to ranieri. You hope he can turn it around and want to give him time because he has delivered us great success, and some of the football during his time has been exceptional. I saw him give an interview with sky a couple of months ago and he talked about how he enjoys working with the young players and what he wants to achieve for Leicester and there seemed to be no big headedness and a genuine wish to make us the best we can be. I just thought he's a great manager to have and perfect for where we are as a club right now. The problem is that we have been in a downward spiral for the most of 2021, you can count the number of good performances on one hand. The FA cup and community shield wins were amazing and he's deserves so much for these but they've been surrounded really abject performances on a consistent basis. Most of the time he's perfectly honest post match and identifies straight away what we did wrong, the problem is that it doesn't seem to be stopping. The errors are so basic that's it's laughable, teams don't even need to produce a good well worked move or passage of play. Just lump it into the box and wait for the mistake. I think its too early at the moment to let him go but I think we're in for a very average season, which I can accept given our recent success, if we were just above the bottom 3 I'd pull the trigger but we're not quite there yet. Our inability to keep a clean sheet is a joke, even when the opposition look garbage, they still manage to score with their only shot on target, it needs sorting but nothing seems to be improving, our home form in 2021 has been atrocious and I can see the god awful Newcastle walking away with all 3 points and messing the europa league up despite somehow being in prime position. If so the pressure will start to pile, with the tough fixtures coming up I can see him gone by the end of the year unless there is a drastic turn around which we so desperately need and what I want to see for him stay and contiune the journey! Not looking good though!
  20. Enjoying looking at all these documents, very detailed. 5 floors in total, a large corporate area although didn't notice any executive boxes? Doing a very rough seat count I'd say its around an extra 8200, not sure if it says it anywhere in the document though. Very impressive but looks like it doesn't leave much scope for adding a smaller tier in the North and south stands.
  21. Pound shop Seagrave! Best thing about that is the drone piloting skills!
  22. That west brom game and Sheffield United were the last time we dominated a game, ironically both now in the championship! Excluding Millwall we haven't won a game by more than one goal since then! I'm all for this playing out from the back game but I really don't think our players are comfortable with it, we have players with great passing ability, but decision making is really poor. I always think the best teams that play from the back play quick 1 touch passes and work some really good triangles, but our lot seem to receive the ball, take several touches and look where to pass it before passing sideways or backwards! A lot of the time it's a misplaced forward pass straight to the opposition and then we're out of shape and all over the place or they press us really high up the pitch and we make mistakes or give away stupid corners, throw ins, free kicks or goals! I am getting sick of us pi**ing around with it at the back, if nothing else it's just boring. Most of the time we score it seems to be from break aways and quick passing moves, which our players seem really good at. I really don't know what we're trying to achieve? It doesn't work and it's boring, get in our face and defend in numbers and you've got yourself 3 points and we'll generally gift then to you!
  23. I've always wondered what people's mindset would be in this situation. The Jack grealish example proves to me that even what you have everything at your boyhood club, start player, best paid, captain, England International, greed still takes over. But in his case he's just guaranteed himself about 30 million quid after tax over the next 5 years, so I suppose it would be difficult. At leicester our top players are on what 130k a week? So after tax and over 5 years that would be about 20 million, so yeah it's a big jump but more than enough to see you and your family for life and beyond. Forgetting money most players say its about trophies and playing in the champions league and I suppose that is a draw. For me I think it depends if the player is local and supports the team as a fan. Chilwell came through our academy but was not local and did not support the club, so no real heartfelt feelings for the club. Hesky was local born and bred, but supported Liverpool so I suppose that made it easy for him. For me as long as Leicester were a Premier league club and I could potentially earn the money vardy and kasper do then i would be content. You could give me every club trophy going at another club and I wouldn't be interested, wouldn't be interested in playing champions league at all. Winning anything with Leicester would mean everything, even the europa conference! Even winning the community shield meant so much to me as a fan! Would much prefer to play against the best rather than with, and big clubs are money making machines that demand success, Leicester is a family club that wants to try for success. Plus anything major you do with Leicester your a legend, other clubs your just another good player they bought! If I had come through Derby or forest's academy, I would try and force a move to Leicester or any big club if not.
  24. I remember going to the fan meeting with the chief executive about that, everyone was disgusted and tigers fans were referring to city as bailing out the poor football club. They argued it was needed to keep the club going. Someone asked how much it would actually generate and the answer was £1 million a season. What a price to pay it would have been. And look now, we're worth about 10x what tigers are and they can't even find a buyer!
  25. Not sure if it's been mentioned but does anyone remember in 02/03 season, they banned our fans from attending the league game as we were apparently too violent! So we did the same on the reverse fixture.
