Wage spending correlates to success better than transfer spending, I often wonder if Rudkin read this once and completely misinterpreted it, so we whacked Soumare and vestergard on £180k per week as if the extra, discretionary £80k per was what would kick it on. It was like this even under Vichai, the bonuses after new contacts after wining the title were understandable but it pegged new contracts and wage expectations unsustainably high. By the start of 17/18 we had something like 33 senior players on the books

We finished above Arsenal two years in a row relatively recently and now there's what, 42 places between us in the pyramid. Completely baffling some people think the regulations (that we demonstrably didn't stick to) are to blame for this!
-
PSR is a barrier but you can’t level it at us when spending 116% of turnover on wages. We were so frivolous we didn’t pay attention and it didn’t even do us any good, had we abided by the regs it might have actually helped us.
-
We didn’t submit our accounts on time ffs
-
We always have tranche of players with expiring contracts too meaning they're not as committed as they should be. Given we lose them on a free and have to replace them AND pay their wages it's like the club (Rudkin's) operate with a mentality of intersectional shitness

He could have done bette for the Stoke goal but he was overloaded and Mavidi did **** all to track his man. The problem with Thomas is almost everything come down his side because he's such a poor 1 v 1 defender and given we're abysmal aerially it costs us about a goal a game. The goal at Millwall was the worst defending I've ever seen from a professional.

He'll go back to Italy this summer, his PSR book value will about £6m off the top of my head and we might get that, thankfully

Only contracted until next summer (2027)

Yeah, but we need versatility and defensive ability in the middle. Currently our long therm defensive midfielder options are: Hamza Choudhury Our long term CB options are: Okoli Souttar Somebody cheap, committed, versatile, peak age is what we need
-
Regardless of division i think we should try for Josh Knight - doesn't get in that often at Portsmouth. Competent CM and CB, experienced and will give a shit - we're so deficient in defensive ability in the middle

City of Leicester & Leicestershire - The Good and Historical Stuff

Spookily I was just about to post the exact same thing. I'm in my late 20s and some prospects are completely unrecognisable, the old council offices added scale, even if the Mattioli Woods building is less of an eyesore. The volume of shops occupied is also really notable as well as less clutter in street furniture, road markings, signs and litter (generally) -
If we did get relegated, who would still be here next season?
Stadt replied to glenny_fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
A few would be picked up in the £2m - £4m bracket like Faes and Okoli. We're going to have to sign about 12 players with f uck all money to do it with -
I'm not saying that's how many will attend but the total target group that might. I personally think 1-2k

Bit small maybe for a desi place, they like massive tables

FBref got rug pulled with its data recently, big void in public data now but I'll have a look

What happened to us was a gigantic, quantum over correction not just coming back around in the cycle. We could have spent much more on transfers but we just didn't have the wage bill under control, if we had competent executives we might have spent £30m in total on Soumare and maybe recoup £17m if we shifted him quickly. Instead it will be £20m in fees and probably £20m in wages... and he's leaving on a free. Rudkin has been a negative multiplier for any player trading in that for every £1 we spend he essentially turns it into £1.50 because we can't sell unwanted players, because they're on too much in the first instance and he's bad at generating interest or proactively hawking players around. I could accept that PSR curtails ambition clubs if we ever bothered to attempt to comply with it and actually did cut our spending but we just ploughed on as before. Summer 2022 was perhaps the only window where that did happen but we certainly hadn't learned our lesson as we spent not far off £30m on Winks (will leave on a free), Coady (significant loss) and Cannon (somehow got a good fee) the following summer. Whatever challenges PSR has foisted upon us, having an idiot for an owner and the idiot's dog running the show are far worse. We were spending 116% of our turnover on wages, what would it have been without PSR!

Not if we concede 2+ a game
-
Those people never were, all sorts fill things online because they're idiots. x% won't even be Leicester fans, live in Britain, clicked the wrong thing. There are possibly 10k Leicester fans who are fed up of the ownership and committed enough, no most of this won't protest so we'r down to probably appealing to the 5k that are bothered. That 5k can make a big, noisy, outsized protest. What we have to remember this is the 5k concerned about the club the most, despite what any naysayers might come up with - they're A-OK with the decline.

I wonder who got relegated with the second most points?
