We’ve repeated nearly every mistake of 22/23 but scaled down. The idea of a DoF is to stop that sort of thing happening. We never really clear the decks, who was the last defender we sold for any money that wasn’t first choice? It’s either a big sale à la Maguire or Fofana or leave on a free like Soyuncu, Benkovic, Evans, Amartey. We just never shift players we don’t want so we’re stuck with rotten players until their contracts expire. Overpaying for potentially 3 relegations in 4 seasons - it is laughable.

Both have played in European chasing sides as well, remarkable.

Good way to score even fewer goals. We’ve essentially been strikerless every time we’ve played Ayew. Daka is horribly flawed but he occupies the opposition defence in a way only a striker can. 30 minutes of Aribo, BDCR, Mavididi or whoever would be enough evidence. We have about dozen games to potentially save the club and we can’t piss about experimenting with these no marks out of position

Did you know the people who bought your last house?

The former in your spoiler is the one I thought was very US, the latter I wasn’t sure if it was something one would know if they were probably the median age of a Connections player. Appears to be very US-centric too -

He got his mate as HoR, we broke with our model of a big sale every summer for him, he had our highest ever net spend as manager. He was the incumbent for the inauguration of our new £100m trading ground. He wasn’t sacked after 7 winless games at the start of 22/23. He had plenty of backing, more than us reasonable to expect.

Some posters on here just think you can *stop* crosses coming in. It’s a bit like saying we should stop the opposition from shooting. Not to say sometimes players could make a better attempt in certain instances but it just shows a lack of understanding - if a player is always so tight the opposing player can’t cross there’s a lot of space behind them.

I think referring to multiple players as in the generation is more onside than calling say, Monga *a* generational talent
-
How many people have actually earnestly referred to our own academy grads as generational? There’s been far more people trashing the idea
-
Potentially Ramsey for 15 minutes as well

Mendy was never a proper DM, Choudhury came through the academy and switched off too much. Soumare doesn’t have the awareness or discipline. Is the last DM we signed actually Ndidi 9 years ago, maybe Iborra the year after? Horrible horrible squad building
-
A team with no defensive ability in midfield exposing a sub par defence. Never replaced Ndidi
-
Couldn’t paste my score earlier (convenient!) and it was basically something like this
-
Probably the most dynamic and hardworking side we can put out. It’s a low bar but Rowett has cleared one the other two in charge haven’t.

Year 2 is 45%, £30-40m usually from a brief look

You only get two parachute payments when you’ve had one season in the PL, like we did last time

#WhenTaken #724 (20.02.2026) I scored 912/1000 (💡x1) 👑 1️⃣📍49.3 km - 🗓️5 yrs - 🥇193/200 2️⃣📍334 m - 🗓️1 yrs - 🥇199/200 3️⃣📍186 km - 🗓️5 yrs - 🥇188/200 4️⃣📍💡398 km - 🗓️1 yrs - 🥇187/200 5️⃣📍1.0K km - 🗓️13 yrs - 🥈145/200 https://whentaken.com Threw away what would have been a monster score, read something which had I not talked myself utter of it would have probably got me to 970+.

Would you have pooh-pooed the idea of relegation at the end of 21/22 as doom mongering? Or getting relegated twice in 3 seasons or potentially 3 in four seasons? We can't rule out the worst case scenario because we it keeps happening.
-
From a regulatory point of view that's maybe true but previously the losses were fine because we always had cash at hand. In League One our costs will be exorbitant, big-ish (and empty-ish) stadium, two training grounds, big headcount and a monster wage bill, even sans the c. 10 OoC players. We're likely to default on payments to suppliers somewhere with a lack of cash if we can't cut the wage bill by a monumental amount.
