I'm pretty sure there were articles at the time Potter left Chelsea about how he wanted a little break after the Chelsea job because of the impact of the spotlight/press shenanigans.

I think they've made that up. I'm pretty sure Potter said when he got the sack he was taking time off because of the impact the Chelsea gig had on him and his family. Potter never struck me personally as someone that arrogant but surely no-one thinks they are entitled to a national team job like that are they.

When he was describing it I couldn't help but think he remembered an awful lot of detail, not usually what you expect from someone denouncing something like that...

That's not going to happen is it though, the points deduction isn't going to be decided when we start pre-season and we can't afford to wait. Also, I think from a managers point of view the upside to taking us on is that it is a free hit reputation wise. Keep us up with the squad we have, minimal budget and a points deduction and you will be widely heralded. We go down and it is probably framed as unfortunate but not a failure and it's what a good chunk of the fans expect. No doubt its difficult and there may be more enticing jobs out there, but what is there to lose?

I'm disappointed as I wanted to see what we could do with Enzo in the PL. What concerns me is our next appointment and the fact that we don't have continuity, which I think is an often ignored or downplayed aspect of things. That said, maybe with the compo and an opportunity to reutilise some assets who haven't had much of a chance under Enzo we can manage to survive.

I would strongly recommend taking a leap of faith and telling your partner. In my experience, people were without fail more understanding and accepting of how I felt than I thought they would be, even if they didn't all "get it", exactly. I obviously don't know your partner but I'm sure she would want to do anything within her power to help you feel better. You're stronger than you think you are mate, persevere and try and find an outlet for your feelings. Keep us posted on how you're doing.

I don't think many people are really clamouring for him to be 1st choice CB but Souttar was only signed in January to a team in turmoil. I think it's pretty harsh to judge him on the small amount of playing time he has had in such circumstances. The other point is that we need to be frugal, and every new player we need comes with the difficulty of paying a fee. We're already tied to Souttar for the time being, I think people are just advocating we utilise our existing assets as best as we can and perhaps give the lad a proper chance.

I absolutely loved cars as a kid. Whiled away many hours on my bedroom floor making engine noises whilst moving my matchbox collection around. If I won the lottery one of the first things I would buy would be something very fast. That said, I drive a 57 plate golf with 107k on the clock and unless it fails me (electrics most likely) I doubt it'll be replaced for some time. I don't know what I will do when I have to either, I drive less and less these days and live in a flat so electric may be a struggle.

Congrats. Freecycle - you need to be on it regularly to get anything good but I've had a few bits over the years. Depending on what your taste is and how quickly you want to get everything sorted it might be worth looking for local antique type/second hand warehouse places.

I think the article is pretty fair really. You can make arguments about specific teams and years in terms of why they struggled, but dismissing the point entirely on the basis of one team or season is niave.

I was not expecting it, but I spent a good 10 minutes of that crying. So many of us just need someone to give us that little nudge, just need that permission to be truly honest. Mental health on social media has in some respects become a trend that certain people/companies look to exploit. Been struggling to stop the negative thoughts and the spirals they tend to generate. Nothing serious, I'm just fed up of having the same conversations with myself over and over again. It's pointless worrying and I know it is and what is needed is action - I'm just finding it hard at the moment.
