I always did prefer Steph Scully to Flic.

That's what I was thinking. Same points available between all teams each season, so if the top 3/4 are all on big points, then that means collectively the rest of the league are worse off.
-
Pretty much what I thought. This thread is a very small sample size but is already suggesting this is the case.

I thought it was a bit odd they were together on the same banner honestly. They are related of course but you can back Enzo regardless of your stance on the club hierarchy. I'm sure Enzo will have been frustrated with the recruitment but the comments felt as much about the fanbase as they did the club. The fans responded vocally, but they weren't all chanting Rudkin out were they? One person with a banner is not necessarily representative of the wider fanbase.

I think your first point is the most salient one, as there would be clubs like Villa, Newcastle (and us historically) challenging for european spots who may well vote against it also. Re where I think the thing you haven't mentioned is that without one it just keeps going up. If you set the cap at a number, the bigger teams couldn't just keep increasing their wages and slowly over time, other clubs would creep closer to the limit. There was a post on here I saw last week saying we won something like £40m more last year than in our title season. If incomes continue to go that way then all clubs will come closer to being able to spent up to the limit.

Seems more normal than some of the people doing vlogs but bloody hell, imagine being next to that every week. Constant filming and commentary. My manager is a Stoke fan and her lad was a mascot for the game. She wasn't predicting a good result but I don't think she was expecting that!

Has anyone posted that picture from Gladiator yet about being entertained?

What a Difference a Decade Makes ... Same Results, DIfferent Vibe

I think there is a sense of entitlement hanging around which obviously stems from our demise. I think the added I also think some people are taking for granted how well this is going. I'm inclined to think that if we'd not started so well, which was quite possible given the downward spiral we were on, and then slowly come into our own and were in more of a 'race' that there would be a little more positivity around the club. When I've had the chance to see us play this season, I have loved every minute of being there. Being at the KP and hearing the Post-Horn Gallop makes me feel all warm and fuzzy because it's part of who I am. But like many, it's because I don't get to experience this very often. The club is nothing without those who choose to be there week in week out, but it does seem like some don't even enjoy being there, which is very odd when you're spending hundreds of pounds a year to do so. With that said, I do think we are in a unique spot as a club and fanbase with what has happened over the last 10 years. Moments can be special no-matter how well the team is doing in the bigger picture, but it's always going to be difficult for us to experience the wider collective feeling we all had between the early days of the title run and the FA Cup. -
Interesting to see how much it's gone up. If I remember rightly though, our biggest year was the CL season. Our income was about £120m, and that was finishing mid table.

Are there any metrics to support what you've said about our record? I agree in principle with what you've said, but saying it was great, then was bad and now is getting better again is very anecdotal. I'd be interested to see some stats compared to the rest of the league(s).

On the whole I think his comments are pretty fair. He has been the victim of his own success to some extent, in that the run of games to start the season meant peoples expectations went up a notch. I think he has done a fantastic job and it was by no means a given that we would be in such a strong position now when you take into account the downwards trajectory we were on. That said, when was the last time a manager walked away and gave up their fat paycheck because some fans were grumbling about the style. Give me a break.

I find it somewhat concerning that there seems to be a lot of press coming out with the same kind of stuff that came out last time around - more stuff like this is needed. I think half the reason Trump won in the first place is because he wasn't taken seriously as a candidate and neither were swathes of his supporters. Obviously it is hard (nigh impossible) to take him seriously, but going around calling everyone who votes for him stupid and xenophobic isn't useful or helpful. Of course that will be an accurate description of many Trump fans, but there has to be an alternative approach to try and sway as many swing voters as possible.

Impending drop off again now - SELL SELL SELL!

Great adjustments from the defence second half but we just gave that away with poor discipline and not making plays in the biggest spots. So disappointing after such a fantastic season.

Sums up the day. Poor showing from the O today. Bottled it.

Ugh

Yep. Unless there's a defensive turnover now I think this is done. Ravens have been schooled so far.
-
Big stop. Gotta get a drive going and work on this Chiefs D now. Absolute must.
-
Not liking the way this is going, Ravens struggling to move the ball.

What a start to the game. I feel like my nerves are gonna be shot by the end of this!

Finished season 1 and started season 2 of She's Gotta Have It, a TV adaptation of the Spike Lee film by the man himself on Netflix. It's something different and I'm really enjoying it. Storytelling from a very different POV, well shot, the odd good laugh and it breaks the 4th wall. Really nice score as well, which is highlighted between scenes.

One of my colleagues told me about this as the news broke on teams. I then told two of my colleagues in the office who hadn't heard. The look on their faces was gold I can't say I like the bloke and I'm not looking forward to being surrounded by more shite than usual but you can't argue with what the bloke has done. Took him some time to get going and get rid of the mess bodgers left but you really can't argue with what he has done with the club.

Luke Thomas to Middlesbrough until the end of the season

What could he have done, that you would have seen, to evidence he was at least trying to improve himself? Have you been watching him train? He may not have improved and it seems he's surplus to requirements here, but what makes you think the lad isn't even trying to get better? -

Would be very surprised if that yellow wall is load-bearing. I'd be mindful of opening your kitchen up entirely, both your means of escape would be past the kitchen which typically is a bit of a no no from a regs point of view. Wouldn't necessarily be an issue in a bungalow but given your lads mobility issues it's something to think about.
