  1. Quite addictive this!
  2. Why was this rancid thing ever considered a good idea
  3. Worrying. https://spacedaily.com/k-writing-a-single-100-word-email-with-chatgpt-consumes-approximately-the-volume-of-a-standard-bottle-of-water-the-global-infrastructure-processing-ai-queries-is-projected-to-use-the-equivalent-of-hal/ Highlights:
  4. Jokes aside I'm struggling to see any other seat that makes sense for him. If Max leaves altogether maybe he'd be in contention for RB but hes not going to Mercedes or McLaren. Plus Ferrari surely have to come up trumps again at some point soon..
  5. Looks like a pretty good deal for the Browns to me, Verse plus a first rounder and the rest gives them a really good chance to add depth.
  6. Wouldn't begrude him that but I do not want to see him playing against us, it wouldn't feel right.
  7. Crazy. I can't believe they're only on the sex offenders list for 2 and a half years as well.
  8. I don't mean to pick on you specifically but I can't believe I keep reading this stuff as if it's that simple. Give X role to: King/Wes/Fuchs,/Kasper/Albrighton/Vards (as appropriate), that will solve our problems! Good player does not translate to good manager, no matter who you are. It's far more than that. There are plentiful great players who have tried management and not succeeded. Kasper is doing his badges but has no experience coaching as far as I can tell. I think you are right in that his attributes will probably lend themselves well to it, but throwing him into this situation with no experience of management? I'll pass, thanks. One of our problems has been being too sentimental, giving out overly long contracts to people with any sort of connection to the club and jobs for the boys regardless of merit. Giving a coaching role to a young, up and coming coach with some experience who is doing well makes sense, but this clamouring for every title winner to be involved forever is closely linked to the former as much as the latter and is fuching tiring.
  9. I think he will at some point, he really doesn't seem one to want to bathe in the press. People may say different re Rebekah but there was talk of a film 10 years ago and I can understand a series off the back of that now before he retires, although I can't see it being that watched.

    The Weather

Had a BBQ yesterday at a mates sat outside til late. Was at the beach before 9 this morning for a few hours and it was lovely. Short ride on the bike this afternoon too. I love the warm weather, I don’t like the extra sweat but high twenties is bang on for me!
  11. Thought Zamora must've been pushing 50, didn't realise he was coaching at Brighton and thought I was going mad. Bit weird him modeling the kit.
  12. This is where the Tories deserve some credit. They stripped our local services so heavily and made so many bad decisions, that immigration is the lowest it's been in 14 years. That is the kind of long term planning/strategy that this country really needs and is most commendable.
  13. A third of the way through this. Very good so far.
  14. Certainly wouldn't have thought that, they've definitely spent a bit more recently but I do wonder how much of that is balanced out for Man City and Chelsea hoarding youth players just to flog them.
  15. Wtf is with the wide stripes on the sleeve there. Shit that.
  16. Any manager from this sort of level that backs themself will be licking their lips. Run like shit or not, the potential for success and uptick on a managers reputation is massive. And with all the issues at the club, even a mediocre mid-table finish would hardly be that damaging for anyone on the on way up. The only way any manager looks bad is if we really struggle, which is certainly on the cards but even then they can point to the shitshow we are.
  17. Mmmm I did think that seemed a bit obvious!
  18. Meet you by the Rudkin at 10 past yeah?
  19. It will be some time in July I reckon. We probably won't hear anything on their search until June.
  20. I'm not sure that that view (bolded) is particularly widely held. I think most somewhat left leaning people similar to myself (not speaking to the extreme) would agree with a lot of what you have said and that it is the big global corporates that are the primary issue. Sure there are plenty of other problems, but they wouldn't be so much of a problem if the money wasn't all heading up the chain into fewer and fewer pockets as time passes.
  21. No-one said it is about being "as robust" as the men's game. You are missing the point comparing the two. Arsenal's women are averaging 30k+ at home. This is better than several mens PL teams. They have some honking numbers in there but also hit 50k+ against Man City recently. It's not about any specific number though, it is about growth. The women's game is growing massively. I don't watch it and I'm not advocating for it especially, that is simply what numbers say in terms of revenue, attendances and eyeballs.
  22. I dont think any of these are that bad, but why on earth does other people wearing shorts bother you? I occasionally think "you're mad wearing shorts" but if that's what they want to wear it makes no difference to me...
  23. I see why you might think that and others will too, but the research and trends on women's football suggest otherwise. I was in a lecture recently with bigwigs from KSS, Populous and a German company who did the Bernabeu re-work and Populous in particular spoke at length about where they see the market going for stadium complexes. The potential growth in the market for the women's game in general is massive and their feelings were that in the long term this is going to reap rewards.
  24. I'd create another 5 threads so we can all discuss it in a multitude of different places.
