There's better places for a day trip in England than Blackpool. Places you can actually drive to and not have the restrictions of flight times. Go and return as it suits. EDT's are another fad where someone has posted about it on FB and the dim sheep have said "yeah, I'll go for that cos it's on FB innit. I wanna post my pics of me at a bar in Magaluf and be back home in time for bed." Twats.

So, unless I'm mistaken, you're saying go to Barcelona or any regional capital on several day trips to experience the "vibe". You're not gonna experience the "true Catalan vibe" by doing that. What rubbish and how patronising is your response. I've been to a number of interesting cities and spent time there, absorbing the culture over a period of days. I've never used trip advisor, I've just made my own choices and explored at my leisure without having to think I've got to be back at the airport in an hour having sat at a Las Ramblas bar for a couple of hours and never taking the time to actually take in and appreciate what the city has to offer. If you went to Rome for a day on a £20 Ryanair flight, do you think you have time to visit the Colosseum, the Vatican, the Trevi fountain etc before getting back in time for check-in?

Why do the URL's keep showing as expired whenever I click the links? Frustrating.

Ah, that old money shot experience.

My daughter with the MH issues has a companion cat which she absolutely is devoted to. No pet is "just a pet" particularly those that you actually interact with. Sorry you've lost him in such tragic circumstances .

Can I come and watch it dry?

AFIK you can't get pregnant via oral sex. At least that's what I told Mrs P.

We (well, Mrs Para) have decided to take the bath out and have a walk-in shower instead. The plan is to put in these new fangled MDF panels instead of tiles in the shower. Has anyone else done this? Are they any good? Are they watertight? Easy to install? (I won't be doing it myself but I am wondering about the cost if an installer does it). Were looking at a brand called Fibo. I've done the usual Google search for reviews but none seem very conclusive

Where's the safety boots? You know, health and safety on a construction site.

Not been relegated.... Potentially twice.
-
Unfortunately probably a tragic accident. I'm not going to speculate on the possible cause. No details have been released AFIK.

Being hit with one of those old fashioned dimpled pint jugs half full of beer wasn't a fun experience. -
I agree with that. He's not someone displaying any typical signs of dementia. Far from it. He's fully cognitive but he has a significant personality disorder and that displays in ways that have been attributed to the paranoid narcissist diagnosis in patients exhibiting the same traits as him.

Toxic Town. A docu-series about Corby and the effect of the closure and demolition of the steelworks on children born with birth defects as a result of the toxic waste generated and the subsequent attempted cover up. A bit like the post office scandal but more local. Interesting and absorbing once you get into it.

But it is significant in that it more or less confirms a non-degenerative mental health issue with Trump. I think we all recognised the decline in Biden's cognitive behaviour and the many faux-pas he increasingly made. The difference for me is that Trump is not suffering with cognitive decline but is displaying very real traits and behaviours of the typical paranoid narcissist: Malignant Narcissism and Delusions of Grandeur "Experts consistently point to Trump’s malignant narcissism, characterized by a grandiose self-perception and complete disregard for truth and honesty. Dr. Lance Dodes describes Trump’s mental state as dominated by "severe narcissistic, antisocial character disorder," manifesting in an inability to tolerate losses and a propensity for destructive behavior when faced with accountability. Mary Trump, a clinical psychologist, and Donald Trump’s niece, reinforces this view, noting her uncle's "untreated psychiatric disorders," including delusions of grandeur and extreme narcissism. Mary Trump describes him as having been "reasonably adept at getting his point across" in his younger years but now exhibiting clear signs of "mental confusion" and an "inability to communicate effectively." Cruel Sadism and Lack of Empathy Trump’s behaviour has also been characterized by a lack of empathy and a penchant for cruelty. Dr. Justin Frank, a psychiatrist, describes Trump as a "cruel sadist" who takes pleasure in inflicting pain on others. His policies and public statements often reflect a disregard for the suffering of others, consistent with traits of malignant narcissism". However, he is POTUS and that role exactly fits with his personality disorder given the power it bestows upon him to inflict his aberrant will on others. That is a very worrying trait.

Very interesting article. Thanks for the link.

He's been diagnosed (remotely, by MH experts) as a paranoid narcissist. If it doesn't get his way, he shouts down at others. The others then attempt to show loyalty to the big and threatening voice in the room. He has no trust that anyone but he himself can make the right decisions. He will only accept those into his inner circle that confirm and entirely support him. JD Vance, for example. He has to be surrounded by sycophants. A narcissist needs these people to enable them to gain and maintain control and power and keep telling them they're right.

I agree. It is remarkable the depth of knowledge, experience, and expertise that this "simple football forum" provides us. Mrs Para wonders why I spend so much time on here. I tell her it's not just a bunch of supporters (although it is). It's so much more than that. I've "visited" others and they are nothing like FT. To all contributors, from all walks of life, WELL DONE, keep it up. We all make FT what it is Even Harry Burton, whoever he really is.

On FT. Wow. Just, wow.

From the "What Are You Reading" topic. I've copy/posted on here as it seems more relevant. I'm reading: The Body Keeps The Score. A detailed work of the research and understanding of how trauma of any kind, emotional, childhood abuse, domestic abuse, war, even trauma that one might not recognise. It's not dry or so scientific that ordinary people can't read it and be enlightened and better informed. I am reading it because I have experienced trauma in most aspects of my life/career. It is thought provoking, particularly for those experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, fear and unexpected anger, supressed grief. It offers insight into trauma and how it affects the whole (human) being that has suffered. Having read most of it so far, I can see and understand how my experiences, abused by my father, the trauma caused by my daughter's MH issues and her rejection of us, the loss of 2 granddaughters through adoption and the things I've come across and had to deal with, sometimes alone, whilst doing my job have made me withdrawn, angry, anxious, fearful, living a false existence by covering up and keeping relationships at arms length. Lack of trust in others and the fear that something bad is always about to happen. I might copy and post this in the Depression topic. I did.
