  1. Just to (hopefully) lighten things: https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=video&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiXsoznhauMAxWhVkEAHVk3H7EQuAJ6BAgJEAU&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tiktok.com%2F%40billyconnollyfans%2Fvideo%2F7084649279192567045&usg=AOvVaw0ASzMn-HObrBFBiHSKLEth&opi=89978449
  2. You really have no idea, do you? Do you know anyone who is entitled to it or is your comment another knee-jerk uninformed opinion? The second part of that sentence is EXACTLY what it is designed to do.
  3. A tad odd because just now, I almost put gin in Mrs Para's cup of tea and I actually put milk in my G&T (only a drop, before I realised)
  4. Yes it is.
  5. Also, we used to take part in joint emergency services exercises at EMA. They would set fire to a "fuselage" situated on the far side of the runway opposite the terminal. We were set to arrive at the same time as the fire crew. So, We'd rock up alongside the airport fire crews and police teams and then triage casualties after the fire crews had extinguished the fire. The heat, even from a distance, was intense. Watching the airport fire truck blasting foam onto the fuselage was amazing. After the fire was extinguished (it was full on blazing) the fire crews brought "casualties" to us and our job was to designate them into categories of dead, serious/life threatening, simple fractures/burns, walking wounded. The last time I was involved, I was designated as "officer in charge" for the ambulance crews and I had determine which casualties went where, account for each one, and direct the crews at the "scene". A very interesting experience.
  6. Seems mostly Ryanair and Jet2 holiday flights to Europe these days. Freight flights seem to take place at night. I seem to recall a plan to extend the runway in order to take larger aircraft.
  7. Wordle 1,376 4/6 ⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟨⬜⬜⬜ 🟨🟨⬜🟩⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  8. Having watched "No Other Land" just now on C4, it has intensified my dislike and distrust of Israel. Their attacks on the remote Palestinian villages even to the point of bulldozing them flat and even destroying bathrooms and toilets and leaving villagers and children with nothing, is beyond warfare and imo unforgivable. Surely there's war crimes being committed.
  9. I wonder where the 26 "special" bus was going. And IIRC, the building in the background behind the Briggs statue was some kind of exclusive members club for the rich and influential business folks, along the lines of gentleman's clubs in London at the time. Now I think's a pizza restaurant or something.
  10. In my career I've seen things no bloke should ever see
  11. Similarly the ripples on a double Bounty bar. And the smaller chunks are easier to get up yer arse.
  12. Have we really been playing and posting for 3 years? Jeez!

  15. January 1969, Blackbird Road playing fields were our school football fields (Gateway Grammar School). Old style leather football with laces. Ice on the ground. unheated changing rooms. Whacked on the thigh with the ball at close range. My God, the agony. Does this count?
  16. I thought that was George Formby

  18. Apparently there are plans to show in schools. Also Gareth Southgate's Dimbelby lecture.
  19. I did. It was f'ing hilarious. Bob Mortimer = comedy legend.
  20. As long as they don't offer to tarmac your drive or replace your soffits.
  21. "Whatever that Dutch bloke told us to do, don't"
  22. I saw a Prime trailer for this and dismissed it, now I'll give it a go.
  23. I got it in 5 but for some reason I can't copy and paste it.
  24. The Streets. Disappoining, "Dry Your Eyes" and "You're Fit" are probably the standouts.
