Wout Faes (Besiktas interest, Fabrizio Romano)
oldbluefox replied to jonny_wright's topic in Transfer Talk
I don't want to see anybody playing in that shirt who has no commitment or passion for the club or its supporters. The looks of sheer apathy when we concede followed by walking off the pitch and ignoring fans who have spent a lot of time and money following their team are totally unacceptable. Too many are happy to have their snouts in the trough just for gracing us with their presence. They need weeding out because we will do nothing until we are rid of them. They have poisoned our club and we need rid. -
There is a cancer in this club which needs weeding out. Too many players earning megabucks just going through the motions without giving a fig about the club and even less about the supporters. Nothing will change until they are outed. That performance was mediocre at best....no passion, no determination, no desire and even less pride. Too many players with misguided ideas of their own ability on bloated salaries rubbing salt in the wounds with negative attitudes. The disconnect between players and supporters has never been greater. Marti has a job on his hands.

Poor though he is none of our forwards got good service from midfield. As for midfielders pitching in with a goal or two it's little wonder we struggled to score. We desperately need an attacking midfielder and I'm not sure Kanouss is the answer. Fancy footwork but not much threat.

The same Johnny Evans who spent the year on the treatment table but made a miraculous recovery once he got a move to Old Trafford. At least Coady does present himself to play.

I'd just be grateful to have a keeper who first and foremost keeps the ball out of the onion bag. Anything else is a bonus. Is it really too much to ask that with the whole pitch to aim at he doesn't put it into touch or am I expecting too much?

I remember similar uproar from some quarters when Ranieri was appointed. Truth is with any appointment you never really know how successful it is going to be although the scores were pretty obvious with our last two appointments possibly because nobody else would touch us with a bargepole if they valued their reputation. Whoever it is I am hoping we have learnt our lesson and we can build something from the remnants of this sorry outfit. Hopefully we can rid ourselves of the journeymen and leeches who have made a living off our backs by turning up and doing little else. Until we weed them out we are going nowhere.

Am I being too pessimistic for the new season?
oldbluefox replied to SkidsFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I'm looking forward to the new season. Hopefully we can get rid of all the high earning journeymen who are only at the club for what they can get out of it, who never put a hard shift in and are not much bothered whether we win or lose. I want to see them shifted out and replaced by those who show pride in the badge and who do care what happens on the pitch, bringing some pride and passion back to the team and the club. Start paying wages which we can afford. I also hope we lose the glory-hunting element in our support who flocked to the club in our Premier winning year. Up to then it was the loyal, faithful supporters who had seen the club through all the good times and the bad times but suddenly found themselves pushed out once the glory boys smelled the first hint that LCFC were doing something special. Suddenly our stadium was not big enough. Having followed the club for years suddenly many supporters were edged out by those who had no interest in the club when we were crap. And I am hoping there is a re-shuffle at the top end of the club by getting rid of those who got us into this mess. So many mistakes have been made which have cost us dearly - poor decisions in the transfer market, unrealistic wages and incentives, poor recruitment, lazy attitudes on and off the pitch, lack of commitment, too many unfit players, misuse of Seagrave which gives the impression more of a holiday camp than a serious training facility, slow development of academy players to the first team etc.etc. Get this right and it could be a very exciting season. -
Whatever he's got we'll soon coach it out of him.
-
Last thing we need.
-
For my money I'll be glad to see the back of him. He shows little respect for our supporters away from home and spends too much time embracing opposition players before shooting off down the tunnel. Hope he goes. Dreadful manager.

Never a great fan of Kasabian even if ours. Generic or not we should have something to inspire and get the crowd and the players geed up for the match. When You're Smiling is ours but hardly inspirational, much like our team at the moment. Perhaps Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham would be more appropriate!!! Or from one of ours how about Engelbert Humperdink's Please Release Me
-
Ready to Go by Republica was a great build up track before the match.

Am I right in thinking Eddie Howe didn't do so well at Burnley and I don't think Lampard's first foray into management was a resounding success. You can never tell with these appointments, always a bit hit and miss but it's so toxic at city at the moment whoever comes in has a job on their hands.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
oldbluefox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
I would agree with that. Some of his team selections have been questionable as have the tactics but when you look at what he had to play with especially players who don't give a damn you can understand why we're in this mess. Cooper's legacy was a team of journeymen just looking to make a quick buck and giving little in return. (Don't get me started on Edouard!!!). Money would have been better spent on young lads with something to prove who would bust a gut to put in a performance. We are stuck with a load of prima donnas out for an afternoon stroll who have let the club down. Unfortunately we will never know what was promised to RvN and wasn't delivered. Rudkin needs to go. -

Are you RvN in disguise? 🤣 -
Never said it was Tbh I find our chants and banter lacking originality, outdated and pretty cringe worthy. Same old, same old.
-
Depends what is meant by 'more than you'. No he hasn't won more than Wolves but he has won more than any of their players on the pitch (and many more than any of our current crop).
-
He's done an excellent job at Carlisle in the short time he has been there. Until he came they looked finished but he has revitalised them.

Liverpool (H) - Pre-Match Thread (20th April)
oldbluefox replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
I wish he would play the same team which has got into this mess then when the inevitable happens we can show what we really think about them. They are the ones who should be facing the supporters and taking the blame. Not that I think they care one iota. -
So was Messi....just saying
-
Do they have a season's highlights video?

Brighton A 2-2 Post Match Thread
oldbluefox replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
With better finishing we could have been dead and buried by half time. They hit the woodwork twice. Better display by City in the second half when they showed a bit of spirit and fight and started moving the ball forward instead of playing tippy tappy. -
Handy if you're looking to replace some of the gnomes in your garden.
-
So what exactly do they do in training? Do they not discuss tactics. Do they not discuss where it's all going wrong or have they all decided they're crap, relegation is around the corner and roll on their summer holidays?
-
Me too. Seventy years of following them through some pretty dire times but I have never felt less interested than with this bunch of journeymen making a living out of our club, going through the motions looking as though they cannot wait for the ref to blow the final whistle. I have witnessed some pretty poor teams but at least they looked as though they were trying but apart from a few this bunch of losers lack any determination or desire, total lack of fire in their bellies. Let's face it the team we had in 2016 was made up largely of misfits. There were no great international stars. They had all been picked up for peanuts compared to other teams BUT they played as a team, fought for each other and battled to be first on the ball. If they lost it they were detrmined to get it back again. There is no comparison between that team and what this bunch are churning out. As for the manager he is totally lacklustre and lacking in any passion. Rollon the end of the season when we can hopefully get rid of some of these wasters and start rebuilding a team which has some fire in their beliies, some passion to win and a desire to run their socks off for the team.
