The thing is, most people gauge being successful differently. I suppose staying up this season will probably be a start, then become a steady, established mid-table side, maybe a cup run occasionally. That’s probably my take. Maybe some would see that as having no ambition & we should be pushing for top 6 year on year. It’s a tricky one. -

NZ look a shadow of the side that won in India. The bowling looks very average at best....obviously they will now win this series 2-1 ! -

Never been to NZ, but have been fortunate enough to see England play twice in South Africa & Barbados, also managed a trip to Zimbabwe in 1996. Have met some great people. Thoroughly recommend it to anyone with an interest in cricket/travelling etc. -
No chance Carsley takes it. He doesn't like & struggles with media attention. This was all very clear during his brief stint with England recently. No way would he want the scrutiny on a weekly basis.

Fontaines D.C tonight in Nottingham. Should be good.

I heard David Lloyd talking earlier. He was saying the Tests are being played on drop in pitches. These apparently dry out very quickly, so maybe NZ is much different than it was. 3 is still too many, especially when Root is more than handy. -
Looking forward to TalkSport saying we should have given him more time & should be thankful we had him. They (& media in general) are so out of touch with clubs below the top 6/8. Can't wait.

We had very little choice due to our financial position. Obviously that has now changed. We should be in a better place now regarding choice & applications.

Yes. It will keep happening unless something is addressed. The sooner the greedy big fish bugger of to a European League the better, although that is possibly a different issue.

This has been mentioned by various pundits etc. They literally do no research, totally forgetting about Wes Morgan & O'Neill.

Absolutely ridiculous.....it's have

....Was a cracking ball through from Kane though & a decent pen tbf. I'm all for him being 'rested' more than he is, but credit where it's due....

It basically means we end up losing to teams such as Portugal, France, Spain, Germany & Netherlands etc & probably end up back where we are now.

Tbf, only the American's like the English from my experience !

I will never understand why anyone boos a national anthem. Maybe I'm old school, but why bother ?

Roll ? My mum is originally from Desborough (she soon escaped !), l recall her using that pronunciation many times.

Still not sure what Sam Curren adds to the side now. He was sussed out a while back. -
No idea if TV money is being arranged for this, but the losers get £20k from the FA alone......these cup runs are a God send for non-league clubs.

There may be a couple of 'local' Harborians in the squad, I'm not sure to be honest. It's only very recently that Harborough have been debt free & started paying players, which in itself means the net is cast wider. I know they were ambitious & the then Chairman (he was involved at Bournemouth & still works for The FA, l believe) had a 'vision' of where he wanted the club to go. He would regularly say this at meetings. As I've said before it's a very well ran club, great facilities, function room, huge junior section etc. It's built up over time, carefully & with a lot of thought. Yes, it may all fall apart eventually, who knows, but the signs are good so far.

Harborough Town have just signed Sandro......ex Spurs, West Brom, Brazilian International Sandro ! He retired last year, only 35. No idea how this has happened.
-
They will have made about £80k + from the FA alone, even if they lose to Reading. I reckon they’ll be more than happy with that.
-
I hope HT & Kettering aren't drawn together personally (save it for the final !). Be great to get Birmingham, Wigan, Bristol Rovers etc. Hopefully you get your trip to Exeter 🤞

Definitely. Haven't looked forward to FA Cup draws so much for years, thanks to Harborough Town. Takes me back to my childhood, sat around a radio listening to the 'click clack' as the numbers were pulled out. Brilliant.
