The second 11 is almost good enough in this league with a couple of tweaks and that’s with us selling mads, and we still have the following spare: Aluko kristiansen Decordova-Reid page wanya braybrooke (1 of the cbs) coady Woyo (what a waste of a signing that was) goulding

Fully understand this and it always sounds great but the reality in football is different. You need opportunities to take and it’s very hard to push ahead of people if you only get a few opportunities. He’s still learning, so his performances will be rough around the edges and the only way to iron those out is with minutes, either here or somewhere else. He didn’t do himself any harm in that run out but it highlights how difficult it will be to actually break into the side.

I think given that Jakob is set to be our number 1 there’s not a scenario where he doesn’t leave. Our backs are against the wall here so I trying we’ll see him leave for around 20m. Not a good deal but I’d be very surprised if we would risk not bringing in anything at this stage

It’s genuinely mad that in one of the most successful periods in the clubs history we have had a handful of players that you can add to this list and I don’t even think it’s recency bias. We’ve had many poor keepers in my lifetime, many before. But I still think the individual performances in games by Danny Ward are a low point for the club. Theres 5/6 games that I’ve seen him worse than at a local Sunday league game

What concerns me is that him and Evan’s and page only got 20 mins. 2 of these aren’t getting past 3rd choice at this stage and if Marti appears to have his wingers switch sides… could be even less opportunities. If that’s all we can get them in a preseason game then I’m a little worried where they find the minutes in the regular season. May have to wait for injuries that never come. it’s a good problem to have but not for their development and for alves in particular… this needs to be his breakthrough season we will see what marti is thinking as preseason goes on

Psr has ruined football because people look at a transfer in psr terms rather than what you’re actually paying. “Skipps only 5m per season” and “if we sell Nelson we get 10m pure profit for psr” it warps the fact that 10m for a youth prospect is below their value and that 25 or whatever it was for skipp is also horrific business. When we have a business who thinks bank loans for cash are smart…. This type of stuff is terrible because they only focus on today and aren’t thinking about the ramifications over 5 years

I personally dont think he’s anything special and the majority of people calling for him tend to have not watched him play much. He’d be a disaster signing, I truly believe that

Without being too dramatic it’s the type of signing that will make a youth team player think they should leave the club. we have a generational crop. If we are brining in someone like windass as a squad filler and block game time to far more talented youth (alves, monga, page, Evans) then deals to stay won’t happen. We shouldn’t be bringing in any squad filler this season other than a back up keeper. We need a striker or someone we think improves the 11
