Going 3 at the back was such a bad decision

Can someone DM me a decent stream please 😬

Been looking forward to this day for months but looks like I have ended up catching COVID so now can't go to the game. Gutted is an understatement ðŸ˜

He's got a touch of the Yaya Toure / Mousa Dembele about him. Very imposing player. The type of physicality we lacked a lot last season.

Albrighton always plays himself back into the team. So glad he's renewed

No Bertrand? -
How do you go about enforcing something like this? I'm just imagining an FA representative with an abacus and a clipboard sat at the side of every training pitch.
-
Until it's this weekend it's next weekend, thats a fact.
-
Spot on. I think for the money and type of player they need, Liverpool are better off buying someone like Saul or Bissouma.

Looking at Burnley's current wages, looks like 50-60k is their highest. I'm sure Marc is on about that so for him to move he'd likely want that wage plus a long-term contract. I know Burnley have new owners but even still would they make a 31 year old one of their top earners?

Basically a free upgrade on Fuchs. Good business.
-
He seems genuinely happy to be here and the way he talks about Vardy is great. Hopefully everyone is patient with him and he beds in well to eventually take over Vardy's mantle.
-
I think we could see something similar to how the French have been lining up in recent years in their 4312. Griezmann plays in the pocket and all 3 forward players roam onto the wings creating a nightmare for defences with their pace and skill.
-
I think we might look at playing the diamond as well. Historically it's a formation Brendan likes, and he toyed with it whilst Barnes was still fit (Liverpool game). Would allow us to play 2 of Vardy/Nacho/Barnes/new striker(think we all know it'll likely be Edouard), then Madders/Perez/Barnes in behind.
-
Needs to get his head down in the summer, sort his fitness out and come back firing otherwise he'll end up disappointed again next summer.
-
Yeah you're right, I've probably been a bit unfair on him after his display today. His strengths do outweigh his flaws.
-
Where the hell do people think he would even be going? It would take a huge sum, much more than Maguire, for us to even think about it. There's only a handful of clubs able to pay that kind of money and I don't think any of them are in the market for a Tielemans type player at the moment.

68 goals in the league this year, only the two Manchester clubs scored more. Yet we've only kept 11 clean sheets - shows our woes have been in defence with our flappy Keeper and an injury ravaged defence.
-
Quite funny really. They were celebrating like they won the league when they've squeezed a 2-1 win. This after having spent £250m in the summer including our left-back for £50m. Let them have top 4 so they can continue to spunk money up the wall trying to impress their Instagram followers.

Lost my old man 18 months ago to cancer. Thankfully he saw the title win and champions league run but **** me, I was an absolute blubbering mess thinking of him from when Youri scored to full time

I never said it's all luck to be where we are - it IS also the work of great planning, acquisition and management. However, you have to understand that football is now dominated by those with more financial power than everyone else. For us to be competing at that level consistently on our budget truly is punching above our weight class. When those clubs can just come in and buy our best players then we aren't on a level playing field. I don't mind people being critical of individuals but some on here just cannot give Rodgers an ounce of credit based on pre-conceived ideas of him being a bottler or arrogant. Reactions like Friday need to be put into perspective of the entire season and our direction of travel. Once we start to stall, once we start to dip below expectations, then it's acceptable to berate Rodgers.
-
Quite possibly, but the margins are so small in football that a couple of poor signings, a bad manager appointment or a career-ending injury to a key player could derail it all. The acid test will be if we finish top 4 this season and manage to stay up there in the next.
-
I honestly don't know what more some people are expecting out of us. We are a team with a budget half the size of those we are challenging against. We've built a brand new state of the art facility to help develop and attract new talent. We've lost a key player every summer since winning the league, but still replaced them with consistently quality purchases. We've reached European competition again and navigated multiple competitions this campaign despite a relatively thin squad. We're in an FA Cup final for the first time in 50 years. We've not been out of the top 4 all season, and were only out of it on the last day of last season. We are club punching far above our weight and Rodgers is at the heart of it. Say what you want about him as a personality, but he's got this football club moving towards something special. He deserves a huge amount of credit for how he's been able to bring in and use the young talent we already possess, and flexibly use his squad. We've probably used about 4 or 5 different formations during the season, starting with 4141, then using 442, 4231, 352 and him switching to multiple ones just last night. He's fixed the lacklustre performances we showed against the big boys from last season with some very impressive away wins. All this whilst dealing with some crucial injuries to JJ & Barnes and various ones to the likes of Ndidi/Cags/Evans/Vardy/Maddison/Ricardo - that is not the sign of a clueless manager. We are lucky to have him and lucky to be in the position we are now. If I were some of you I'd take a step back and appreciate just how good a position we are in right now, because it's unlikely we'll ever see this kind of success again for a long time.
