Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)
LcFc_Smiv replied to lcfc_forever's topic in Transfer Talk
With Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday fixtures I can't imagine he did! -
Fair enough, I think our initial deal with sky started at around £70, it slowly increased over the past 4 years even with us ringing up and looking for better deals. We were due to be paying around £110 from the start of September which they were pleased to tell me was already about £30 cheaper than it should be. Our Virgin media package starts at £54 and from the annual price rises will increase to £62 over the next two years, with the price increasing to £160 when the contract ends, at which point we will either renegotiate or move providers. My issue with Sky was them telling me the price has gone up because the number of services we have available has increased, but you have to pay extra for every additional element, and telling me that I had an unbeatable price on my broadband package for the speed, which wasn't true either. I imagine in two years time as you say I'll be having the same complaints around Virgin and returning to Sky or looking elsewhere.
-
Yes because they are preventing the keeper from being able to release the ball.
-
We've just left Sky for broadband and TV to Virgin Media, it's mad to me that another provider can offer broadband, sky channels including sports and cinema for £60 less than what Sky could get close too. We stuck with Sky as long as we could, a bit through ease, a bit through the level of service but the increases are huge and we just can't justify it!

My Blackburn Rovers supporting mate messaged me this morning saying we'd lose and that he couldn't put his finger on it but there's something not quite right with us ATM I laughed and said I think we as fans are well aware of what is wrong ATM.
-
I would say a dodgy onfield decision, it's far too far out to be classed as a goal scoring opportunity so not a red which is the only way VAR would be able to intervene. The ref has to spot that and give the free kick to Liverpool and the yellow to the defender.
-
Today is the first time I've sat down for the sky sports EFL show for the early kickoffs and it's pretty decent in going around the managers discussing the teams and players who have been impressing. Pretty good as I've barely seen anything over the past 2 weeks. Sky Sports News would just have you believe there's only Premier League football on this weekend.

The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)
LcFc_Smiv replied to Sly's topic in General Chat
21:57 at Penistone parkrun this morning, buzzing considering I went out with the mindset of today wasn't a push hard day, got to the 2.5k mark and decided to put some pace down and surprised myself. Buzzing for my Mrs as well who finished around 10m behind her twin who has always been a far stronger runner, nice to see others hard work pay off! -
Seems very level headed and down to earth, I remember an interview with him saying the club suited him and got the best out of him. Seemingly he was suggesting if he went anywhere else he would risk being just another number and potentially not the setup to thrive.
-
Mine was my team name being too long, took the spaces out and it stopped doing this. Seems that rather than telling me it contained too many characters or just reset my team. In other news Slot substituting the two full backs due a clean sheet bonus on 59:30 is a wanchor move I couldn't believe it!
-
So do you reckon there are genuine issues? Or is he potentially overplaying elements to ease the expectations?
-
Sky Sports pushing their interview with Nuno claiming major problems at the club ahead of the new season in terms of the balance of their squad. Listening to him speak I was a bit gutted to see he wasn't as panicked as they made out, I also wouldn't suggest the issues are that major in terms of what others have faced going into the start of the season.
-
Underperform this season and fail to secure European football and in 12 months time we will be hearing about how the Premier League are unfairly targeting them.

Hamza was straight over? Not necessarily to Monga but he had a word with their players and the ref
-
It's not about being able to dictate play it's about holding people to account and raising the standards around them when things aren't going well, also keeping people level headed when they are going well. Hamza for his faults was straight in when he could see the ref was going to book Monga last night and the Huddersfield players obviously sensed he had try to cheat them, he made sure that the situation didn't boil into something where you have opposition players crowding a 16yo unnecessarily. Ricardo for me is the right choice, Hamza after him, beyond that I don't know what the options are considering we can't expect them to both be regularly and consistently involved.
-
I watched him pretty much every week he was at Sheff Utd last season and his defending of the box in the right back position was outstanding, he rarely got beat when players would try to take him on. He would allow the opposition the space to run at him but as soon as they tried to attack the box he would engage and was more often than not successful in regaining possession or preventing them from getting past or putting the ball across. So it was absolutely baffling last night as to why he was dropping so narrow and allowing players to venture into the box. I can only imagine it was tactical but his strength is engaging and regaining possession. I don't buy the argument around the lack of support either, the message to the whole team seems to be to get bodies back within the width of the box and crowd the area rather than deal with the threat.

For a young player getting all this interest he carries himself well. His reaction to the fans Saturday was brilliant in trying to get them going, last night he comes on makes a challenge infront of the Huddersfield fans and celebrates it. How many times do we see players have their heads turned and sulk? It may just be his general character but I hope there's a little bit of motivation and determination to perform for the club and the fans. -
He wasn't great last night, but let's remember more established players were just as poor in the 45 minutes he was on the pitch and the majority of them have more minutes under their belts so far this season. I thought he popped up in the right places centrally but we lacked any real attacking options via that route, maybe he has the potential to be more dangerous on the wing, I'd certainly be happy to see him used more regularly coming on as a sub and give him the opportunity to make an impact.
-
I'm not going to judge him on his time at the club so far but he has work to do. In possession we were largely too pedestrian tonight, yet when we actually got the ball down and got at them with intent we caused them problems, resulting in us then choosing to slow it down and try and move them around, we don't have the players for it. Defensively we have been calved open a number of times far too easily. He's got to come up with solutions, and whilst I appreciate as others have said new signings will be nice, he has indicated that he has no interest until the squad is reduced in size.
-
Marti trying to get the players over to the fans at the end and Faes was straight past him down the tunnel, disappointing because some of his play was the minor positives of a lot of negatives from those around him.
-
I've got to say for as much as I hoped he would work out here, it was alarming how he just couldn't compete in the air on Sunday. We need to sell and while he may still have a decent enough career I don't think this is one we will look back on with regret if we do let him go.

It's a tough one, he's definitely a bit of class who could have offered more than what he has done so far, not through a lack of trying. We got to see some of that yesterday and this could be a big season for him here. At the same time, he brings in much needed funds, and then also moves out of the way of some young exciting players coming through who should be given the opportunity to prove their worth, for a player like Alves you have to feel it's this season or never for us. Strange move for them though as I would think Miley can operate in the roles they would be signing Bilal for? And surely it's time for him to kick on for them at 19. -
Can't stand Struber, I still maintain that they will end up as a car crash under him even if the early evidence says otherwise!!
-
Remind me a bit of the likes of Everton of past seasons who bring in a number of impressive sounding players then fail to gel or actually do anything
-
Be interesting to see how much time the Saints fans give him, they lost patience with Martin and his stubborness, Still has supposedly shown signs of being more one dimensional in his messaging to players in training and preseason games.
