we'd be able to get through qualifying quite comfortably I think but then the group stages would be a different kettle of fish. we would have to play strong XI's then

Fleetwood Town (A) 0-0 FA Cup 3rd Round
TJB-fox replied to urban.spaceman's topic in Leicester City Forum
Can't be bothered to read through the comments so not 100% sure what the consensus is but for me massive responsibility has to be pinned on the 3 in midfield. James King Silva should have had more than enough to dictate that game from start to finish but instead shied away from coming and receiving the ball which meant the defenders had no option but to punt it forward. This meant we couldn't create any moves or build any attacking momentum. Yes Fleetwood pressed us well and the pitch etc etc but come on, 3 of them in there have all played at top quality standards and got bossed in there by Schwabl. Only would've taken one of them to drop in there and dictate the pace of the game but none of the 3 had the balls. Barely hearing their names mentioned during the whole game speaks volumes. Silva I can allow a few rusty games due to his circumstances but James and King should have known exactly what to expect and how to counter it. Disappointing -
If Jesse Lingaard/Ox/Welbeck etc had the performances and stats of Albrighton everyone would be raving about him

For years and years we had to watch negative, sideways tripe on the wings- Momo Sylla and Josh Low spring to mind. Great to finally have positive, attack minded wingers who really get at their opposite man in the squad and looks like we have another one here. Not the fastest but has great movement and drives the ball forward with purpose. Hope he doesn't turn out the way Lawrence did here.

He'll never be a pfa player of the year, but right now he could be a better option than Mahrez
-
Said it last year but I think the two lads that weren't expected to be the main 2 English young centre halves, Keane and Maguire, will actually progress further than the two more 'highly rated' young English Cb's , Stones and Dier. Maguire is class

Fresh start in a completely different team from last season (attitude not personnel clearly, management aside) so I'm prepared to give him another chance. Wasn't a great season from him but he was thrown in the deep end immediately. Some thrive (Ndidi) some don't (Hernandez, Musa etc). Really hope he proves me wrong and pushes on to become a first team regular, because at present I can just see him being an average squad member!

Ranieri just said 40 points to the media ffs, lowered expectations whilst we stealthily pulled away at the top. Duped some of you as well as the British tabloids too! -

You do realise Kane missed a big chunk of this year too? He's absolutely class in the prem, if he was Argentinian people would rate him higher than Aguero -

I like Delph but am I the only one that thinks 12m for him is a bit much? -
Agreed. Not sure why so many on here seem to revel in his failure!

Jamie Carragher is such a whinging little bitch and is very fast to call people out and make things personal but can't hack it when the boot is on the other foot. Realised he made a bad error in judgement and deleted the tweet. Belter

Think if he beefed up a bit he wouldn't get skinned that much. Trouble is the winger/striker pushing out wide is usually stronger so they don't need pace to beat him (which most couldn't anyway)
-
You look at James and Lawrence etc they've gone out in the championship, excelled and now come back in good stead to impress in pre-season. Might be needed for Amartey
-
Neil Danns scored for Blackpool today
-
Barnes- from our academy- scores a few goals and does well in league one, scores for our u23's= everyone raves about him, best thing since sliced bread Lawrence-not from our academy- rips up the championship scoring more goals, including some crackers, in a pretty dire Ipswich side= not good enough at all Yes I know Lawrence has played for us a little more and is older but the comments on here are bizarre
-
Agreed. Some of the comments about Gray are absolutely bizzarre. If Fuchs had put up that same photo people wouldnt be saying anything of the sort. Our fans have always had problems with flair players, some won't be happy until we're playing back in league one with Nicky Adams and Matt Oakley on the flanks. Give the boy a break, he's a fantastic young ENGLISH talent who has the promise to go really far in the game. Rant over
-
Yeah he was class, his long throw ins were the highlight of that season
-
Miles better than Drinky yesterday but ultimately the game was lost in central midfield. Barkley Gueye and Davies had complete dominance in there and it reflected in the scoreline
-
At the time it was the best decision for all parties unfortunately. He really needed that extra year or two to mature and develop and in the position we were in we couldn't really afford him that time. Shame, because the last couple of games he played before he left he played really well if I remember rightly

Okazaki interviews, comments and pictures from the Japanese media

I always say to myself we can do better than Shinji and if we want to improve he will need replacing. But I don't even think I can believe that anymore, or maybe his cheeky little face has persuaded me otherwise. Individually he is bizarrely shit but we are so much worse without him. I just don't know how you can't love him. Will go down as a cult hero here for years and years and years to come -
Loan to someone like Barnsley, Brentford, maybe Ipswich etc would be a good move next year.
