I loved watching him play, it was like having a Brazilian in the team he was so comfortable on the ball, he’d flummox opponents by walking with it then if they dived in he’d drop a shoulder and go the other way. Some of the tricks and flicks I saw in the reserves games where he had more time and space were off the scale - a dribble with his chest that took him past 4 men! When I watched his documentary there was a clip of him at Madrid “this is where they kick me” as he rolled down his sock, his leg was in a state and I was welling up, the game needs entertainers like him, so many kids get inspired but he has to be the one to take the pain. I know we mock Daka for being soft but every goal kick or long ball up to him, whilst the ball was in flight he was barged from his position, hands on his back, with similar force to Hamzas challenge without getting a single decision in his favour so that sets the precedent. A lot of refs use a lower freehold once it gets in the box but rightly he remained consistent and all players knew where they stood (or fell!)

Took the game to them first half. Put a real shift in second half, Ipswich came out looking a totally different team, my grumble would be when we do manage to get the ball in those second half situations keep it simple, keep it, don’t gamble on flicks and dinks and balls over the top - it comes straight back every time.
