Questions to be asked at manager interviews

Many years ago we had an American friend visiting and my Dad had the test match on all day (top hospitality hey) and was explaining elements of it to our baffled guest. He responded “You’re saying they can play five whole days and it can be a tie (draw)! Hot Dog!!” Then as the players left the pitch for lunch or tea “What’s this, Is it finished?”, “No they’ve gone in for tea”, “You mean everyone has to stick around and wait while the players have a meal!!!” The shorter forms of the game are of course very different to this in their pace and activity but he was adamant that Americans would not take to Cricket!

I was decorating and got to the top bit of the wall alongside the stairs, standing on a wobbly stool on the landing leant over the gaping drop of the stairwell, one foot on the bannister one hand on a wall, performing a kind of trapeze gymnastics hybrid, twice slipping and having a close call, arm and shoulder aching like hell and the paintwork looking like it had been done by a blindfolded chimpanzee. Then I was in Poundland a few days later and saw extendable paint rollers, £1, I never knew such things existed as I’d always used shorter ones! I let out a huge Victor Meldrew “I don’t belieeeeeve it” and it took months to see the funny side of it

Thanks for the memories guys, Marc for the title but also that first Champions League goal, Nacho for stepping up and slotting home that penalty in the community shield final as well as his goals in our cup run, Dennis....ooh that pass away to Brentford, sublime, wonder if one or two will crop up against us in the future, always thought Nacho would suit someone like Crystal Palace but they seem to have moved up a notch or two recently and he's coming off the back of a season where he sometimes failed to make the bench at Championship level. He needs a bit of love and a new project but it's fair to say his stock has fallen pretty rapidly in the last two years or so. Wasn't it in the lock-down games where he seemed most effective and focused?
-
Would he have rejected a 2 year? Doubt it so why 3? What with all that intense competition for his signature. Or is it just making sure we have enough players already on the books to get through the next 3 transfer embargo’s! Three years ?

Don’t Want a Digital Season Ticket ? – Time Is Running Out
fazzyfox replied to Foxes_Trust's topic in Leicester City Forum
Was that via PC or phone / app? When I did it on PC it mentioned the Vichai Foundation / charity and there was a button to click if you wanted to give an increased donation / further amount (I don't want to attack the goodness of intentions of the charity but someone, somewhere just isn't reading the room are they). The implication is that the £25 is going there but it wasn't worded as such. Just done mine, very reluctantly, I forgot I'd put it off to June and hadn't therefore budgeted, it's literally going to be a couple of bags of groceries off the food budget as that's the only flexible thing in the budget this month. Thanks for your support indeed . -
He stood amongst a noisy aggressive crowd covered in sticky sweet smelling liquid, almost slipping on a thick yellowy goo on the floor and with a drinks container smeared in somebody else’s saliva…..then he stepped out of Wetherspoons and had a milkshake thrown at him!
-
Particularly surprised by the way he asked her “Can you keep the noise down love this is really important”, shouted “Hey shush a bit, this offside trap isn’t going to organise itself you know” and unplugged vital Ward equipment when his laptop battery ran low.

If this is all based on that one quote then it's way overblown. He's said it would be a luxury to be in a position where he needs to make a choice because he is happy here. That is not saying he wants to leave, just saying like any player or manager who gets an offer from a bigger club there would be a decision to make. It's a loaded question to ask him, "will he be here next season", he is contracted to be so unless something changes he is, it's not coming from him it's coming from the interviewer.

So could he (Potter) be waiting for the Newcastle job in that case?

It'll be a different time, different heroes will need to emerge. It's a strange feeling but we have to accept that by then we will not have on our books a living legend of the game, a Roy Of The Rovers type hero, just plain mere mortals like most over clubs. Yes when Danny Wa....,sorry, Jamie Vardy, goes, we lose our get out of jail card, our X-Factor, things will be different but still if Fulham, Brentford, Bournemouth, Wolves, Forest etc can find a way of bedding down and keeping their top flight status year on year then, after this tough season ahead, so can we. If we do go down then I doubt the Championship will be quite as competitive at the top as this time, even with points deductions we could come back up.

Yep, Newcastle
