Might have said this earlier in the thread, but the sad/fascinating thing is that if we were in Everton or Nottm Forest's shoes right now a large portion of this forum would be losing their collective MINDS at the Premier League, the rules and everything else they could. The mental gymnastics, tin foil hat and defensiveness of those fan bases would be replicated on here, on Twitter and elsewhere if we were charged for breaching the limit.

Would you support a "Super League"?
Footballwipe replied to ozleicester's topic in General Football and Sport
Problem is all of those would make a Super League pointless for the teams who want it. They don't want equal distribution, they don't want the jeopardy of relegation and they (non-English teams) do not like the power of the Premier League in its current format. -
Two things grinding the old gears atm People who STILL cannot comprehend the difference between the Everton/Forest FFP charges and the Man City case. They're totally different and at this point if you think the PL are treating Man City better cos of how long it's taking you're either lacking in any sort of research skills or being wilfully ignorant. The rugby community losing its minds and being so extraordinarily bitter at a player making a career choice to go and try out for the NFL. The response I've read and seen has been exceptionally butthurt.

Yes, I've crossed the road on a couple of occasions because of this. If there isn't another side I've also pulled right out as far as I can and slowed down so if someone does turn around they can see me clearly, or I'd walk in the road to overtake as long as it's safe for me. Can take a little bit of time to judge whether you can sustain the speed up to overtake a person, whether they'll speed up to get away and negate your acceleration or whether to just slow down. That being said, slowing down is so annoying so where possible I do like to speed up.

Saying we'd all go back up first time isn't really the contrary opinion that'll drive listeners/engagement though, is it?

Absolutely this and I've posted about this topic too much it's boring. We demand 100% from referees, but not of players or the team. When a referee misses something now it's a clear agenda by that ref, or the FA, or the Premier League, UEFA blah blah. The fans before a game who post "oh well we're fvekced" when they see who the ref is. Fans on this forum bleating on about referees being crap or missing decisions. It happens, it's infuriating and it's crap sometimes (and sometimes goes for us) but it's a game which can take place at breakneck pace and referees/linos get one look at it. Sometimes they'll get it wrong cos they're human. We like football because they're human. Can't have it both ways. And on VAR, not even the NFL/College Football is dumb enough to VAR subjective decisions (even with their one-year experiment doing so a few yrs ago). NFL replays are factual (TD, caught/dropped pass, knee down) Holding, pass interference and other foul-related plays aren't reviewable. To be a complete hypocrite with the above, the best game I've watched this year by a country mile was Spurs-Chelsea. As a casual these days who couldn't give a shit about anything other than our games and big matchups now, that was a chaotic, brilliant, entertaining match.

I must admit some of the response on this has been a bit performative. The person who claims to be a Leicester fan clearly has form for it and seems to be showing no remorse. He's achieved his objective in offending Ipswich fans in a crass and vile way (but a way I suspect he knows will work). However I'm not entirely why there are Leicester fans apologising. It's not for us to apologise for one outlier claiming to support the club, who has already been banned due to previous behaviour. He's an internet troll and we shouldn't be saying sorry every time a person attaching themselves to the club makes comments. We'd probably need a thread a week. As mentioned, it is also absolutely not the basis for a minute's applause. I've strong opinions on minute applauses generally but if one is being organised, it should not be to "make up" for one rogue fan. Anyone of sane mind would and will know that one person on the internet is not indicative of an entire fanbase. Indeed, some might disagree completely with this, which just emphasises that one person on the internet is not indicative of an entire fanbase. The loss is terrible and I do hope the family and friends can find peace and ultimately put this trolling behind them.

Yeah exactly. It's getting a a bit boring that our fans are being suckered in by the nonsense pumped out. Didn't they do something about the Vichai chant last night as well? They knew they were wrong after the first five minutes of our lot correcting them, but they got exactly what they need. Have to remember football fans (and tbh sports fans of most populous sports) are sensitive sausages. Anything that seems baity is going to be taken by a sizable portion of the base as exactly that.

It's begun. When Aston Villa inevitably don't win the title this will be why in the eyes of some of their fans. Create the corruption narrative to explain it away.

Ignore these and do not let them infect your brain. No person in the world can build a team of the season, especially at this time. Which pundit or podcast has been able to watch every minute of every player so far this season to make a fully considered decision. It's on hearsay, clips and hype alone, and they need a mix to keep people engaged/interested/outraged.

LCFC must offer General Sale to fans
Footballwipe replied to Union FS's topic in Leicester City Forum
And yet there were Leeds fans in the home end for the game earlier this season, so the flimsy excuse which melts away when someone parts with £32 is blown apart even more. Don't worry, there will be a non-statement statement which tries to but doesn't quite criticise the club posted on here at 1:23am in two-four weeks time. -
Isn't it a bit chicken and egg though? The fans from that era were scummy on the trains and destroyed them, what else were the rail bosses supposed to do? I know there's this attitude that if you treat people like animals people will behave like them, but the vicious circle continued unabated because time and again football fans took out the frustrations of their grotty lives back then either on other fans, grounds or public transport.

Even so, that's not "doing a Leicester" that's a team under a flawed manager failing at the last a couple of times. History shows that is not an ingrained historical issue for us. In fact, very recent history shows when it comes to chasing a title or promotion we're pretty damn good at it. Suspect it's just people being overcautious and underdogging just in case anything did go wrong, but it irks me, that's all.

Honestly, this kind of tin-foil bullshit really is ridiculous. I'm so sick of people trashing referees in this way. You can think the standard is shit (though you get the quality from the abuse you give tbh) and you can want better, but to write something as unhinged as this. Another classic 1+1 = 3,424. It's like people actively want violence or horrific abuse of officials to continue. You can bet your bottom dollar any of the "big" clubs fans could build a case like this and make it seem convincing enough to bring into question a referee's integrity.

What's this narrative people seem to be putting in the main forum about people panicking we'll "do a Leicester" and mess it up? What evidence is there to say we'll mess this up? Recent(ish) league title battles and promotion races seem to suggest we're nothing of the sort... 2002-03 - Didn't mess it up - came second at a canter in the two horse race with Portsmouth 2008-09 - Didn't mess it up - came first at a canter 2013-14 - Didn't mess it up - came first at a canter 2015-16 - Didn't mess it up - came first at a canter I assume people are either referring to the seasons we capitulated and finished fifth, or the individual moments like Watford in the playoffs or Kermorgant in the shoot out? Even so I'd argue the fourth place battles are entirely different. It just seems strange that people push this narrative when there's barely any comparable evidence to suggest that it's something we do imo.

OP is dead right and it's baffling anyone else thinks that way. It's not Ricardo's goal. The whole David Nugent thing for England would never have happened if the "original shot" was on target thing was true. I was on the back row behind the goal and saw it strike Wilf on Wednesday, so not sure why there's such revisionism.

Potentially. I guess it depends on their ambitions and ability to become a place for the type of entertainment that can pull 10,000 people regularly. How aggressive they are in enticing acts/people/sport. I think we're well overdue an arena personally but I can see that it's coming into a very crowded market, especially regionally. Time will tell, but maybe the overall set up when everything is done might help? All being said however, I will never not salivate at the thought of us playing under a roof. I know we've had big old debates about the atmosphere recently but encasing it would be brilliant. Sad it'll never, ever happen.

Scorigami as well! Apparently the eighth of the season

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but is there a reason they decided to stick the Millwall fans right next to L1 when they could've moved them more centrally for a bigger gap, due to how few they bought? The inevitable small flare up when Millwall scored was so predictable when they had one line of hi-vis between them!?

What is it about parking in the surrounding roads of a school that makes parent drivers lose their self awareness and general decency?

Imagine living a life so carefree you have time to get het up about how people say a word. Even when it's how they've been conditioned to say the word that's different to you. Jealous. Math. Math. Math.
