Grandad got the Burma Star, 1939-45 Star Medal, 1939-45 War Medal and the WWII defence medal. All fairly common I think Great Gramps got similar common ones, the Silver War badge, the Allied Victory Medal and the British War Medal Units is sketchy unfortunately, haven't gone in depth, but I know great grandad signed up in December 1914 in Leicester.

I'm getting around to framing my grandad and great grandad's WWII and WWI medals. Been years in the making but whilst it's being done I've been doing some family research. It's always been a fun titbit that as a 36yo my grandma and grandad on my dad's side would be 116 and 115 if they were alive today, as they were 48/47 when they had my dad. Turns out my great grandad on my grandma's side also liked to have kids old (with his wife 20yrs his junior) - he was born in 1858, meaning me, someone born in 1989, has a great grandfather born before the fvcking American civil war
