Absolutely this. The 3 PS1 titles are peak FF IMO. I replayed FF8 remastered not that long ago. Its probably the game that gives me the biggest nostalgia hit of them all. This cinematic came with another game. I can't remember which - but I bought it just to see this and replayed it A LOT. It blew our minds that FF had an rock / metal theme song. A lot of people thought it was Rammstein at the time.

I'll sometimes lay in the bath and just watch longplays on YouTube of some of my favourite old games from the NES, SNES, Mega Drive and PS1. Nothing better than hearing the sounds you've heard so many times before for a pure hit of happy childhood nostalgia. To play: probably the old Rollercoaster Tycoon games. So great.

I've never really been into online games TBH. They take up too much time. One of my best mates got so addicted to DOTA2 that it affected pretty much his whole life. He put dozens of thousands of hours into it. He broke up with his girlfriend and had to move. I remember him telling me he'd reached out to Valve directly to ask them to help him stay off it. I spent far too many hours on Football Manager, hours that I could've put into something else in hindsight. I loved it but I'd never go back. Got FM clean in 2017.

The state of the comments on that video. Why are you waging a one-man PR campaign for her on here, just out of interest? This video is meaningless.

Name a more iconic duo than Wymse and the Letby trial.

I could fill 5 from just Coldplay's discography. If beige was a band, it would be Coldplay. People love drab shit. U2 have some good contenders too. They're a slightly greener shade of beige. Sex Is On Fire can get fvcked. Dog bob. In fact lots of that indie-heavy period of the late 2000s has some real shit. Razorlight. The Kooks. Minging stuff.

Seems like the PR machine is in full force trying to limit the damage done by the dynamic pricing debacle. The band themselves might not have known, but their management 100% will have made the decision to allow it. It's fairly well known that it is an opt in / opt out process. Glad to see the watchdog are finally investigating.

Release him. Cut our losses. Surely the compo has to be less than another two years worth of his exorbitant wages? This dude makes the Adrien Silva signing look like the deal of the century.

Strong Rodgers / Ward managerial stubbornness vibes about this situation.

It’s 2024, when commerce is highly regulated and Ticketmaster are still allowed a monopoly over the market, increasing prices 2x at will, but yet no government seems to have decided that they’re running one of the biggest scams in the world. “Dynamic pricing” is activated by the artist. Last year, Robert Smith from The Cure took Ticketmaster to task over their price gouging and got fans of his band refunds. Oasis are greedy twats. Blur, Pulp and Suede are infinitely better bands. Fvck these cvnts.

Problem is, he was never going to be given much leeway with the fans by virtue of what he is - a third choice, relegation-fodder manager. It doesn’t matter about the Forest connection for most IMO. I hope he gets it right, I really do, but if fans’ patience is running thin after 3 games, it’s going to be fvcking unbearably toxic when we’re rock bottom after 10 games with a handful of points.

What Game Are You Playing At The Moment ?
RoboFox replied to LeicesterBran's topic in Music and Gaming
When I say "Immersive sim", I mean as the genre, which Prey definitely is. Immersion in an elaborate and believable game world. Simulation: physics and AI are used to create believable behavior in objects and characters which the player can freely interact with, resulting in 'emergent gameplay'. First-person perspective so as to truly look through the eyes of the protagonist. Game design that allows for multiple paths and/or multiple solutions in every situation. A systemic game world that keeps track of the player's actions, which can affect the "whole" game. Open-ended/non-linear game design with an emphasis on choice and consequence. Full control over the player's character in every situation. A world with consistent rules that the player can interact with. Narrative that is not always forced on the player, but instead can be told through exploration and gameplay at that players will. Bioshock is a spiritual successor to System Shock which IMO is the OG "Immersive Sim" made by Looking Glass Studios. My favourite game ever - Thief was made by the same studio. The Dishonored series was made by many of the same core team after Looking Glass went bust and they moved to Arkane (and IMO is the spiritual successor to Thief). Arkane also made Prey. The Bethesda RPGs share a lot of the same DNA via ex-Looking Glass developers too. Games like Far Cry, Ghost Recon, Assassins Creed aren't immersive at all IMO. They're just huge empty worlds full of endless arbitrary content. -

I get why people might think that about Control. Same with Kojima. But the take on Prey is definitely absolutely wrong. As a lover of immersive sims - which aren't easy to come by these days - I loved it. -
