Liz Truss' biographer claims after tanking the economy, she wanted to scrap all NHS cancer treatment in order to desperately repair the damage she had caused. How she managed to become PM becomes more and more staggering with every revelation.

What Game Are You Playing At The Moment ?
RoboFox replied to LeicesterBran's topic in Music and Gaming
Control is incredible. Some of the most satisfying gunplay + superpower gameplay ever. Also just a great game world, weirdly unsettling and eerie, and full of batshit crazy concepts in only the way Remedy / Sam Lake games can be. One of my favourites from the past few years for sure. -

Just started Disco Elysium: The Final Cut which I've wanted to play ever since IGN gave it a flat 10.0 "masterpiece" review. Part detective noir point-and-click adventure, part tabletop RPG, part middle-aged alcohol & drug-induced breakdown simulator. Lots of lore, lots of words, and lots of conversations. I find myself thinking about going back to it a fair bit. It definitely won't be for everyone, especially multiplayer junkies with addled minds and the attention span of a gnat, but I'm enjoing it. -
Did a great job with "A Quiet Place" Married to Emily Blunt, the lucky sod.

Wait, you guys can afford to go to pubs?

I've never had a problem with the gameplay on FIFA. Some years were better than others, but the core gameplay mechanics are usually never that far off. People will moan about nuking pace, or pace being OP, the goalkeeper AI etc. It's always pretty much fine, but then again I never played online - and the people who really notice this stuff I'm sure are hardcore FUT players. But even the most biased person can't claim that other modes that aren't FUT haven't been neglected. It's patently obvious that (the non-profit making) Career Mode and Pro Clubs had gone for literal years with recurring issues of insufficient innovation and functionality. Nobody's expecting Football Manager when they boot up Career Mode, but at the same time nobody's going to convince me that 15+ years of development amounts to a handful of shallow, largely arbitrary systems and features. Basically my problem is that EAFC has essentially become FUT with a few legacy modes to appease dwindling, lonely single-player lovers like myself and they still ask for £80 in return.

Ok, we’ve covered the FA cup goal, so I’ll go with this. Probably the most pure limbs moment I’ve ever had.

The Running Thread (formerly How fast can you run a 5k?)
RoboFox replied to Sly's topic in General Chat
100k run man. I did my first 5 minute burst the other day on couch to 5k and I nearly shit my pants. -
I don't care how good he is, if this pisses Rodgers off I'm all for it.

Speaks volumes about the state of the Tories when that's the best they can offer. A bunch of 3rd rate backbenchers thrust into positions of importance because the party has been in complete and utter disarray for years.

I think it’s more that the home fans are absolutely silent.

Blow me down with a feather. Who could’ve possibly foreseen us getting absolutely pumped silly tonight.

Trump posting AI images of Taylor Swift endorsing him seems like a great way to get her to endorse Harris. Annoying the one person with the most clout on the planet right now is another big brain move for his campaign.

Sounds decent TBF - 2K at least have a decent pedigree with sports games. And yeah, pay-to-win / gambling (sorry, "surprise mechanics") is inevitable. EA have set a precedent with it for being an absolutely behemoth cash cow. But competition breeds excellence and the FIFA devs dropped the ball over a decade ago. Why even bother trying to improve it if you know you're going to sell millions regardless? Basically anyone but fvcking EA who have taken the piss out of honest consumers for far too long.
-
EA have pulled off one of the most egregious scams in gaming history rolling out the same shit game every year with a roster update and a different menu colour and charging £80 for it, and that's before we even get into the FUT stuff. BUT, their licensing agreements mean they basically have a monopoly over the market. I've said it for a very long time but it's outrageous there's no longer a viable competitor to EAFC when so many publishers / developers have the financial clout and ablity to take them on. The industry is crying out for an alternative, especially now EAs grip on licensing seems to be loosening.

Injuries or not, he's still probably our best player. Outrageous that a player of his ability had to spend a year in the Champo TBF. If the manager doesn't utilise him properly (bizarrely missing from pre-season) then Cooper can get in the bin, stat.

After years of fvcking around and trying to hone my craft, I've decided I'm finally going to release something. First track mastered and ready to go. Name chosen (I think). Artwork and visualiser nearly completed. I'll get around to setting up the usual social media nonsense at some point, I'm sure. Nobody really knows I make music, not even some of my closest friends and family, so I'll release anonymously and it'll stay that way. I'm incredibly protective about this kind of thing, so it feels like quite a big step.

Wait, so... is someone saying Vardy isn't injured? -
I love that piece of music, but it’s overused in stuff that needs to be “epic” Overall pretty tough watch, that. Sorry.

2005. Really doesn't feel like that long ago - like, at all. Then you see pictures and you, your friends and the whole world looks different.

Long overdue. I love a flounce off to forum support to kick off about the moderation on here. Classic stuff.

Worst season in the clubs history incoming.
