I agree it will take time to gel the formation. Morale seems high in the squad with youth getting its chance and that may speed up the gelling process. Despite us not hitting form I've been pleased with improvements in some of the young players like Chilwell and a Gray, new signings like Maddison and Ricardo, and the Lazarus like return of Mendy. I'm really excited about this season as it really seems like we could make great progress. Right back is interesting as it's not clear what Puel wants, or is it just Ricardo is currently offering more further forward than the other options? I wouldn't be surprised to see Söyünçü at right back when he makes his debut. I like Amartey, he has pace and strength, but does seem prone to rickets. I guess he too is still only 22 so may mature.

I understand that they have to be deep but are they not even deeper currently due to a chronic lack of pace? I like Mendy's busy, neat passing and of course Ndidi's strong tackling though his passing does let him down a little. We're more disciplined in midfield with Mendy partnering Ndidi but lose a dynamic Silva provides in breaking lines. I guess we'd have to spend mega bucks to get a player that does it all!

I've been thinking about the lack of pace in central defence. I'm really looking forward to seeing Söyünçü, he'll certainly add a bit more pace. That should allow a higher defensive line improving the passing between defence and midfield, but perhaps also allowing the midfield to give more support to the attack?

With that in mind should you really be on here? ?

Just got home and looked on this thread... and he's still bloody here! To quote the title: Slimani - Wants to leave, and don't we all FFS. As others have said, get what we can back in a fee and get him off the payroll. He may not like it here but we're f***ing paying him well. If he's really unhappy he could easily do something about it. i don't want to see his miserable face ever again. Erm, well that's my rant over. I feel better now. I'll go and have my tea ?

Wasn't Morgan banned for drink driving a few years back too?

Really? They're both Adidas football shirts, come in the same sizes, and same template. Different grade polyesters maybe? But I doubt it. It's not as if the replicas are made of silk!

Just another Manic Mendy then.

I immediately thought the same

This. What's the point of still just aiming for mid table? That's what Stoke did and got complacent. They got relegated. I think plenty of us felt that if we'd really gone for it last season we could've finished 7th. With a bit more quality maybe have challenged Arsenal for 6th. There's a gap to the top 6 but it's achievable with ambitious, wealthy owners and a well run club. It may take 5 years but it has to be the aim. When the opportunity comes you have to have the attitude to take it. Surely we all learnt that in 2015-16. To progress and attract better quality players we must have high aspirations.

Leicester City Kits Through The Years:
Plastik Man replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
I'm sure you're right but I wasn't referring to the shade of current shirts. What I meant was the original 1983 shirt is darker than the replica of the 1983 shirt available in the club store. -
Having had a quick view of the you tube highlight videos of both Grealish and Maddison, I'd prefer Maddison. He's nimbler, got good feet, and much more of a goal threat. He's more exciting. My only concern would be his resilience. He looks slight and has just suffered a bad injury. Is he robust enough? With Grealish there's a question over his temperament, certainly in the past, has he matured? He's certainly skilful, has vision, and is cute in drawing fouls. I don't think he has the acceleration to actually go past players, certainly not in the Premier League. He seems to rely on drawing a foul when he tries to go round a defender rather than actually having the speed to beat them.

This was the first City shirt I owned. When I saw the current replicas of these shirts in the club store I thought they were the wrong shade of blue. This photo confirms it, they were darker. -
Interesting. In the real world practically all of our previous owners were drawn from the local community, were roundly booed and subjected to Sack the Board chants and led us to modest occasional success and a reputation as a selling club. But they did have a feel for English football. Just like the FA come to think of it!

Soulsby is not stupid. The city benefits from the club's high profile. I can see some sort of deal to enable park and ride using the Braunstone park and ride site and the train line that runs direct from there and past the stadium. Soulsby is on record that the Ivanhoe line should be reopened. My only reservation is it runs right past the bottom of my garden!
