I was born in 1970 so he was our keeper when I first saw us and was aware of the players. He's definitely one of my all time favourite players. He played with a smile on his face and was bloody good too.

We should have sold Tielemans in 2021 and I think we were prepared to. I'm not sure what the club's valuation of him was but it's true there wasn't much of a market. In Europe hardly any teams had much cash in the post Covid recovery. That really didn't help. Not all the club's fault, but in hindsight with his form crashing and eventually leaving on a free, whether we could've sold him for a slightly lower fee than we were asking for in 2021 might've help fund a rebuild. Though by 2021 our recruitment was also turning to shit!
