When Leicester were relegated in 2023 with top half premier league wages it surprised a lot of people. There are similarities this season bur the lack of resilience fitness and quality up front and defensively is poor at any level . Today apart from the James goal we offered nothing and were outplayed by a side that had lost the last four games.!

Suspect manager had a plan to freshen things up after an hour. But at half time Leicester were already struggling some players such as Mukasa and Ayew were not really in the game. So I’m disappointed with game management but to be fair the players have to step us as well it is all too passive just no reaction or sense of urgency. Can’t see how the manager can turn it around this has been going on for too long not just this season

This is such an important game really thought Mukasa and Winks would be starting probably Daka as well for his pace. Feels almost as if Leicester are going for experience rather than a positive attacking approach could be very slow and predictable
-
Only positive is that with James and Mukasa on the bench we have players that can change the game and maintain some energy. Unfortunately it is so negative and defensively minded I think the game will be lost by the time the subs come in

Second from bottom Leicester really need to work hard and be clinical today. Problem is that even if City start well by 60 minutes they are always looking exhausted so vital to plan for 90-95 minutes. Tbh I think we’ll concede early hope I’m wrong -
I’ve really no idea what a chief footballing officer does. Lots of jargon about strategic direction etc. Leicester are not an elite club and surely cannot waste money on layers of executive posts. We need basic stuff such as players that can score goals and defend properly but that has been ignored all season
-
Leicester will win when they can finally put a performance together for 90-95 minutes. After 2 decent away performances albeit patchy in parts they looked shattered this weekend even before they conceded. I think it is more fitness than confidence although there is a lack of quality in key areas that is exposed every week

It is an interesting statistic that results have been worse with Winks in the team. Yesterday I noticed that other players seem to stop playing or risk driving forward when a pass to Winks was an easier option. Skipp has been good but yesterday short passes to Winks were the staple and of course with the limitations of the central defenders in terms of distribution an awful lot was going through Winks who was pretty good to be fair . I think Rowett said post match that everyone needs to take responsibility and not expect that chances will happen. From the kick off yesterday Daka and Mukasa stood well back with little press and looked tired and I half wondered if the thinking was more about not conceding and conserving energy than anything else. There was still a chance at half time to do something but it was all too little too late.

I thought the atmosphere was OK in the first half hour or so. No toxicity maybe some anxiety and frustration as there always is playing out from the back.I think it is unfair to pin the poor performance on pressure playing in front of the home fans.
-
The team looked lethargic and could barely string any passes together all afternoon. Winks did put a couple of decent forward passes but Daka couldn’t do anything with them passing out from the back is so poor and slow. I know Leicester played midweek but Norwich had a day less to recover. Really poor fitness and as happens so often when they concede confidence evaporates further and the challenges become even more half hearted defensively. Hell of a task for Gary Rowett
-
Leicester definitely need at least one experienced centre back playing every week. With the full backs conceding so many crosses I’m tempted to try Jakub again simply because he tries to gather more of them. With his confidence being low Boro away might not be the best time.

The club is probably torn between giving King and Sadler another week or handing out several new contracts which they can’t afford maybe for longer than they want. In the meantime other clubs are getting results and City have 2 very tough away fixtures. Could be 6 or more points adrift with ridiculous pressure by the time Norwich come along.

Forest and Spurs have sorted things out in a few days. Absolutely no indication what the plan is but at the very least King needs some help. -
Mansfield such a good example on a smaller scale of everything Leicester used to be 10 years ago. They live within their means, experienced manager, attendances about 8000 when they were 3000 s few years back, recent promotion and 5th round of cup.

Every time Leicester give away a set piece you worry someone will get in front of our defenders or bully them off the ball. Not to mention the number of clumsy or simply unnecessary fouls conceded. Have to feel for Andy King -

Cracking game and team.Alan Young and Gary Lineker up front, Larry May in defence and of course Mark Wallington in goal before he got injured. Atmosphere was incredible

Doesn’t seem to be much change in odds in the last 24 hours obviously a couple of notable sackings to keep us interested. Feels very much the same as when Rodgers left delay and indecision maybe the hope the squad is good enough -

Dyche must have been under consideration a few times but the club haven’t gone for him. Perhaps they are concerned that he is a bit blunt and doesn’t play Pep style football. The state the club is in we just need the players fit and some strong management it doesn’t have to be pretty IMO. However I don’t think the club should be handing out yet another 3 year contract more like 18 months. -
Looked barely half full if that when the light show was on 5 minutes before kick off. Suspect a few people thought it was 8pm kick off but looked about 20k top estimate IMO . Only a few hundred in the away end

Always been a big fan of Thomas Frank. Agree little chance he would come wouldn’t be at all surprised if he is approached -

He was excellent and he has a bit of physicality as well. Good goal and pressing. I think he looks a nailed on starter at number 10. -
I’ve been to the last 3 home games and really need a break. 80 mile round trip and frankly I haven’t seen the players compete for 90 minutes in these or any other home games. Of course the squad and confidence is thin but the team stopped competing as soon as Southampton scored they just don’t look fit yet again

Expected a few more changes tonight. Very quiet outside the ground and in the club shop no queues anywhere
