West Ham United away, AKA eat, sleep, Decordova-Reid repeat.
Edingleyfox replied to Pliskin's topic in Leicester City Forum
I know Leicester won last time the teams met but I think WHU had about 30 shots on goal and there were some great saves. Going to have to dig deep tonight not concede early and look to counter. To be honest can’t see it but really hope I’m wrong -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
Edingleyfox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
This week was the first time Ruud has said that the team isn't good enough. But I think the team selections and lack of risk taking has been an issue for some time and rather gives away the lack of belief in going toe to toe with other teams. Of course RVN and SC may have been right being cautious this season given the lack of pace and some quality throughout the team. However, from my angle I'd rather lose 5 2 than 4 0 and I'd like to see the whole squad given a chance. There is nothing more demoralising than going every week and maybe one change or less in the starting 11. -
It has been one of those seasons typical of struggling sides when Leicester have set up defensively with experienced players and looked neat against some top sides without really creating. The problem has come when Leicester play teams just above in the table and need to get out of second gear to stretch the play. You can’t just change mindsets and mistakes happen all over the pitch. I would make changes in central midfield and bring Facundo in but the squad has been dismantled over the last 3 years and losing KDH has been massive. The Brentford game reminded me of the late 70s when we were relegated

I’m certainly not going to criticise people for leaving early on a Friday night in the pouring rain with the team 3 or 4 goals down. It was always going to be a difficult night because expectations were higher than the Arsenal game. The ground looked half empty and the atmosphere was very subdued until 10 minutes before kick off and 20 minutes into the match quite a few knew the writing was on the wall and couldn’t face any more of it.

Not a lot of imagination

Things do seem to have changed this season. If you miss a match they send a questionnaire which reminds you of the option to sell or forward the ticket. I don’t remember an option to state illness as a reason for non attendance unless it has changed recently. Overall the ability to sell or forward tickets looks good on paper but it doesn’t take too much to use up these options and of course fixtures are often moved and a lot of us have to commute a fair distance. Hopefully someone at the club has the authority to be more flexible when there is prolonged or serious illness.

Wolves kept the intensity going for 97 minutes used all their substitutes. I’d be happy if we could see that at Leicester

Looked OK. Generally impressed. Tbh Justin was having a decent game but he looks composed as an option

5 first tier home games without a goal
Edingleyfox replied to squidsworth's topic in Leicester City Forum
Expected goals today 0.22. Just so little pace on the wings and we don’t have midfielders full of goals. Wilf looked the best bet today. We had Vardy on for another 90 plus minutes and no substitutions until 75 mins except for the injury. Yes we looked organised and composed until the last 10 minutes but I just think more flair players need to be risked and changes made much earlier. -
Agree really struggling with forward options. Just a bit worried as Dake came off with an injury and I don’t think Vardy was fit either.Cannon seemingly surplus to requirements. I know the defence has shipped only 1 goal less than bottom club Southampton but the attacking side is not much higher in the standings

Facundo Buonanotte joins on loan - Official
Edingleyfox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Facundo has a bit of flair and pace. He loses the ball more by taking a few risks but some of the best football this season has been with him in the side. The problem is that so many players struggle to track back or put in tackles whether it be defensively or in midfield. This magnifies individual errors and destroys confidence. I had hoped RVN would have stuck with him with coaching because of late Leicester are creating very little but still conceding -
If we lose Mads and Bilal I can’t see Leicester challenging for promotion. Ask yourself where the creativity leadership and regulati goals are going to come from. The recruitment this year has been so poor overall with little emphasis on potential and over paying for experience. This January window selling off Cannon is hardly helpful.
-
Ultimately Wolves are not going to agree to something that strengthens Leicester being only 2 points clear. I don't know what Dawson is like he used to be decent but I would look at this with suspicion to say the least

Transfer Deadline Day - Prediction Thread
Edingleyfox replied to EnderbyFox's topic in Transfer Talk
I still find the Cannon sale very short sighted particularly if there is no plan B. I can understand that recruitment has been complicated by starting with Enzo then Cooper plus PSR but it all seems so random and apart from Bilal are we any stronger than the team that came up? -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
Edingleyfox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Ruud addressed this post match- clearly he thought at 3 0 there was nothing more he could do. However totally agree that he could have made 2 or 3 changes at half time just to send out a message to players and fans that we need have a go at getting something. I still don't know what has happened with Buonanotte surely he would have been worth a punt he was so good at the start of the season or has his confidence dropped. -
There was so little focus IMO all summer when we lost KDH as a driving box to box midfielder and clearly needed a viable alternative to Jamie up front. Now I’m not sure about any areas of the pitch and I’m not sure that panic buys or loans will do anything except build up debt.
-
He might be OK did well at Boro but guess wages will be high.A younger option for the future going back to our previous recruitment model might be 23 year old 6ft 1 David Strelec the Slovakian that Middlesbrough are rumoured to want if Latte Lath leaves
-
Would prefer a striker or winger. Very worried about an injury to Vardy as Daka only has the one goal this season. I also think wages and loan fees likely to be high and injury record a concern although he is a decent player when fit.
-
In all honesty Leicester will do very well to find a centre back that is going to slot in quickly and vastly improve the side. We already have so much cover in that area snd another addition has to be a significant upgrade. I don’t know anything about the new RB either I’d rather look for either a winger or striker with different attributes. Leicester are creating so few chances and setting up negatively . I’m also concerned if Facundo is out of favour or losing confidence because he looked great initially
-
You really do wonder how much research was done in respect of several summer signings. Very little seems to have changed since summer of 2021 when players were brought in on big fees and contracts and didn’t become regular starters. I suspect the last minute striker signing was based on old information from his Celtic days. If I was the Chairman I really wouldn’t be impressed. Percy’s article is excellent
-
He has potential but it was a surprise because Leicester have so many centre backs although few with youth and pace. If Okoli is sold at a loss it would look very poor . I find it hard to believe how much the club has paid on some of these summer signings either in fees or contracts without significantly strengthening the starting 11 in all areas of the pitch
-
Of course Leicester are not signing 5 players. However, just one game changing striker or right winger I think would vastly improve morale and give us an outside chance. If nothing is planned I do wonder what the point is in selling Cannon for around 10 million less sell on when he could be very useful in the Championship.
-
We need another striker IMO more than anything as we haven’t scored at home in the last 3 Prem games. However he has to be better than what we have or for that matter Cannon who was sold fairly cheaply after deductions. Please not just another back up squad player which has been a recurring theme
-
We seem to be down to Vardy and Daka and we are not packed with goal scoring midfielders either. Jamie is going to be completely burnt out or possibly injured very soon and yet no decent links to anyone coming in just Cannon leaving. In the great escape season we had 4 strikers and I think Kramaric came in too.
-
Surely we have to change things up I think the goals conceded is leading to an ultra cautious approach. Problem is we need a win and 0.26xg isn’t great at home
