Think Okazaki for Albrighton and get Gray running at Lindelof, see if we can get the defender a second yellow.

Announce Trippier

Great to see Vardy put it in the corner rather than smash it down the middle. Excellent penalty. Power and placement.

Looked like Hamer shouted for it but misjudged the pace of the ball. Dodgy moment there. We just need to see a bit more of the ball. I'm confident Iborra, King, Albrighton, Chilwell and Okazaki can all assert themselves on this game.

I do hope Kelechi is bang up for this one

Agreed. He's actually a decent manager. He did well for Wales, Blackburn, Fulham and Stoke, and arguably for Man City when they first became part of the PL mega-rich. He's had bad runs of form with Stoke before as well and managed to drag them out of it and finish relatively comfortably. I just wonder if this is one bad run too many for him. Their fans will see stagnation and lack of progress, and the threat that maybe this time Hughes can't fix their bad form and they end up going down. -

It's a laugh isn't it! When you're a victim of something that's unjust, you find out if you're a fighter or if you just give in. Stoke had plenty of time to turn that game around yesterday but, credit to Moyes, West Ham wanted the win more. Stoke were awful, much like we were yesterday. The difference is we have the fight to bounce back from those kinds of performances. Stoke, meanwhile, are spiralling towards the Championship. -
I don't think we can afford to rest Mahrez or Vardy in this game. But if we did, I wouldn't mind seeing Chilwell, Okazaki and Gray behind Iheanacho and seeing how that works out for us. Albrighton and Ulloa on the bench with Vardy and Mahrez also there for insurance.
-
Set pieces is the biggest worry. Roy knows what he's doing and he'll be working on attacking set pieces in training. Zaha is the other worry. I think they'll set up to frustrate us and try to keep it a scrappy game. If we can get a foothold in the game though I think Vardy, Gray and Mahrez will prove too much for them. Sakho being out is also a big plus for us. We can't take a win for granted but I'm optimistic we'll get the job done.

Just saw a shot of Walsh and Shakey sat together, Shakey in the Everton garb I know I have to move on and everything is looking very promising with Puel so far, but seeing those two working together at a different club is quite sad considering what they achieved for us. -
Obviously the number 9 is special for any striker at any club, but for the guy who eventually replaces Vardy...wow! Best of luck whoever you may be!
-
As someone who played left back as an amateur through childhood and adulthood, an aimless pass square in your own half is literally one of the first things you learn not to do. When I saw him do that yesterday I was apopleptic. Still, I guess as a professional it must become acceptable in some circumstances as your passing should have improved. It was a very bad mistake, though. Apart from that I think he's looked excellent in the last 3 games and on balance deserves to keep his place against Southampton.

They can't force out a £1m signing from Fleetwood who, incidentally, is still so incredibly underrated by many. I think Vardy can adapt to any style of play or step up in quality given time. He looks a little isolated currently but I don't think it'll be long before he's playing in a slighlty more intelligently and thriving in this new system of Puel's. The rest of the strikers need to play catch-up or they just won't play. Of the non-regular strikers, I personally think only Iheanacho potentially has a future at this club.

Great goal from De-Mahrez Gray!

Which youth prospects might be given a chance?

Good to know, cheers For some reason i thought he'd played most of his games at right-back. -

Not gonna lie but I don't think he resembles Big Wes at all. Bit weird from the Mail. Also isn't he primarily a right-back? Was he just filling in at CB before being moved back out to his normal position later on? -
I don't think anyone will be dropped as it were. Puel has shown he will change the system and personnel as and when it's needed, and I think he'll continue to do that. I think the days are gone where you can comfortably name the starting XI and the shape they'll play in. We could go 4-3-3 with Iborra, Ndidi and Silva in the middle and Mahrez, Gray and Vardy up front. We could go 3-5-2 with Chilwell and Albrighton as wing-backs and Okazaki and Vardy up front (same 3 in central midfield). But, based on his tenure so far it does look like Shinji and Albrighton are likely to be disappointed most often. It's hard to leave Albrighton out in current form, though.
-
The 6-1 was effectively a dead rubber when the pressure was off. In the October of last season we drew 1-1 at their place. We also took 4 points off them in the title-winning season. They can take their meaningless 6-1 because it did actually mean exactly naff all.
-
Agreed we need to sort out the second half performances. One thing I will say is that it's probably normal to be under that amount of pressure while leading against a team like Spurs in the position. But there is a pattern emerging. We'll get it right. The French Tinkerman is putting the pieces of the puzzle together.
-
2-1 up and under the cosh. Puel brings on youth product Hamza Choudhury for his PL debut. Who said this manager was boring?
-
Had one the other day at 6 am, still dark, no lights, no hi-vis, no helmet, dark top, dark trousers. Absolute bell.
-
If Mahrez does go, it'll be great to take Ben Arfa as his replacement. I think it's been a shrewd move putting Gray in the team though because Ben Arfa would need time to become match fit, and Albrighton/Chilwell on the left, Gray on the right and Okazaki behind Vardy ain't bad in the meantime.
-
Great that he's in the proper squad after missing out on the World Cup and going to the Toulon Tournament instead. Still, both worked out pretty well! Let's hope he impresses and continues to excel with Barnsley. If so it shouldn't be too long before he's in the U21 squad.
-
Jakupovic played in this game apparently. He must be wondering why on earth he bothered to come here. Not that I'm complaining. If Hamer is better then so be it. But Eldin must be kicking himself. Great win for the u23s. Muskwe is on fire!

He plays for Chelsea, of course he'll be on the plane.
