With everyone rightly worrying about the striker position, I think it's being overlooked how dangerously close to the starting 11 Luke Thomas is.

When was the last time we came out of a deadline day thinking "we got exactly what we needed" or for that matter. When was the last time we went into a deadline day happy with what we have? At this point I'd settle with feeling disapointed but usually the overwhelming emotion is anger.

Well... it's either this or talk about how no-one is coming in and our board are Cvnts.

If we wanted a striker who doesn't score but runs around and tries really hard, we should have just got Chè Adams on a free when we had a chance. If we done it early enough, I'd probably have stopped being sick by now.

The fact that the club were hiding post on social media asking for a #9 isn't a good sign.

After seeing his name in passing earlier and having thought on it, I e convinced myself that Max Cornet would be perfect for us. Primarily playing in that attacking LB role that Cooper likes to play, he would be ideal given that he's played a substantial amount of games at LB, LWB and LW. He would also, IMO immediately be first choice back up on either flank AND has played a lot of games as a striker and secondary striker so offers option ther too. He would heavily increase our depth instantly. He is in his prime at 27, is left footed which we lack in the squad and West Ham don't seem to want him so should be reasonably priced... Him and a striker please Mr.Rudkin.

Max Cornet would ba a very interesting shout for the attacking LB spot and also cover for the wings. Actually left footed too.

So essentially we will sit about waiting on people to bugger off and when they don't we will plump for Fofana, or decide we tried our best and go with what we have. I don't see this happening in the slightest.

Short answer is no but like I said last night, if there are 2 PL clubs interested and you rule out Newcastle and the top 6, along with Everton of course. There is a 2/12 chance that we are one of them. Would you bet against it?
