  1. Why are you all freaking out? You've spent all pre-season saying we will be sh!t and are going down, so we were sh!t and we will prob go down... Just accept it and chill the fcuk out! You're p!issed off we didn't win a game you didn't expect us to win?
  2. Elye Wahi only played with Mavididi for 1 and a half season of Stephys 3 years there.
  3. I'm not arguing he should... just pointing out that he has experience doing it.
  4. He was Montpelliers main striker for a few years.
  5. Mavididi has played as a striker 107 times.... Cannon 95. Stephy has more experience as a ST than Cannon does.
  6. OFCOURSE people are going to be more excited about signing an up and coming 20 year old who should get far better than his current level and potentially retrieve a good profit from future sales, which in turn will allow us to stay on the right side of FFP regulations and repeat the process than they are about a soon to be 33 year old who is only going to decrease in value and ability, which never been better than adequate even in his prime. I've never heard of this lad and I accept Ayew makes decent footballing sense but so does he. The only difference is that he makes decent business sense too and we've not shown a whole lot of that recently.
  7. Apparently you don't like when people are overly enthusiastic either though. You should change you're name to ready salted.
  8. In all competitions last year they both had 12 goal goals/assists. Granted Ayew was playing a higher level and played less minutes but he's 33 in a couple of weeks. This lad is 20, has far more room to improve and has the potential to make us much more money. He's a more logical signing.
  9. F'kin hell mate! Do you go around Nurseries telling kids that one day their gran will die, too?
  10. 🎶....And IIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEIIIIIII love Jordan AYYYEEEEEEEWWWWW🎶
  11. From his comps, it looks like he plays quite deep. Is this maybe more a KDH replacement as opposed to an out and out #10?
  12. I'm really surprised. With Cooper all but confirming Hlozek and Saha were close, I expected a winger and striker/10 hybrid. Didn't see a 10 coming. Can't grumble with a talented young up and coming player who's outgrown his current level at 20 though...
  13. Exactly. I just had a quick look. 16 of our current squad have PL experience. About half of them have pretty extensive experience. It's quality that's the issue.
  14. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
  15. I think both will come in too but regardless of how much we do or don't spend on them, it doesn't change the fact that this one is still financially suspect. That anxiety is justified considering that being stuck with players that add nothing to the team whilst paying them substantial amounts and not being able to shift them has very much been instrumental in our financial problems and this one looks like it could very well turn out that way.
  16. Because there is more to it than the footballing aspect. As we speak, we are awaiting the discipline for our prior financial irresponsibly. Spending up to £8m on a player we won't get any monetary return on whilst paying him, what I'd imagine to be around £7m (assuming he signs for 3 years on 50k a week) is worryingly familiar and anyone ignoring that, I believe is being niave. Ofcourse we would all like to believe that the people running the club know what they are doing but past events seem to argue otherwise.
  17. For me, this all depends on that last sentence of Percy's tweet and those two other attackers. Ofcourse it makes no financial sense, that goes without saying but we can't expect anything less under this regime, all we can hope for is it works on the pitch whilst being financially moronic. The plan was clearly Ayew on two of Zaha and Hlozek. I would have been fine with that. It would have given us a strong array of attackers for a relegation candidate whilst allowing us to loan out a few. So it really depends on getting two players around the same level as those two. If we don't get them in or they are below the level of quality we need then the Ayew deal will be far worse than it could be.
  18. I'm not particuarly happy about this. I don't think he's great and we are ridiculously over-paying BUT if it's this on top of two more attacking players (a striker and a winger) with maybe Mcateer, Cannon going on loan... I suppose it's fine. Depending on who the two players are ofcourse... I mean, if it went to plan and it was Hlozek,Zaha and Ayew... I'd be content so hopefully it's players of that kind.
  19. 2 more AFTER this or including this?
  20. PL... "Okay Leicester, we're going to give you a points deduction but we need you to be more responsible with money, ok?" LEICESTER... *Maintains eye contact as we submit an £8m bid for a crap 32 year old striker*
  21. I 100% agree. I just thought I'd be ridiculously conservative to remove any potential argument about how it was a better deal.
  22. Just to put it into context... £6m plus 30k a week for 2 years (I think he'd be on more than that with probably a longer contract knowing us) is over £9m without taking into consideration signing on and agent fees. That's more than were going to spend on Zaha for a year...
  23. He hasn't specifically said anything there though has he? The only direct quote is "really close" and having not seen the question, which someone had said on a previous post was pretty ambiguous and was 2 questions in one, we can't say exactly what he meant.
  24. No in the presser that I saw.
