I’m not sure this is enough. If Souttar was due back sooner maybe so, but Nelson is young and not proven to be a top half championship level player yet, Okoli is decent but has mistakes in him, Vestegaard is good at this level in certain systems but is always vulnerable to pace, and similar to Faes and Winks has had issues with the club and/or managers.

He’s a *****, but he’s our best centre back. Happy with this only if we replace him.

I don’t buy this rightful place stuff when Palace, Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, and Fulham are all off the back of excellent seasons in the Premier League. We were an established top 8 club but we screwed it up with poor recruitment and mismanagement of contracts.

He’s a great player who’s been surrounded by very limited players in a toxic dressing room for his entire time here. Better players around him will allow him to focus on the creative side of his game.
