Yet again the grass in our garden and on the local parks, show how resilient it is. Weeks of looking dry and dead following the heat wave, then a couple of days of wet weather and it's all green and lush again.

Technology, Science and the Environment.

Green technologies impact on the environment. Is the world's race to decarbonise unintentionally stoking another environmental problem? -
It winds me up far more than it should but when reading a report on the men's test match and even listening to TMS, they refer to the 'Batter' and 'Night watcher' We know it's regarding a men's match so why not use the terms Batsman and Nightwatchman. I suspect almost no one will be offended.

Gone but not forgotten and certainly not the death list

I have a 'Soccer Stars' sticker book (pre Panini days) from that era and both are featured. As an aside, the blank page at the rear of the book is for autographs. Pride of place is Peter Shilton. I remember saying 'Thank You' after he signed it and he ruffled my hair and said 'Good Lad' -

Actually, I think he would make a very good goalkeeping coach. Watch him closely and listen intently to what he says, then do the exact opposite and you'll go far.

During the coverage, how long before the words, 'Minutes in legs', are uttered and how many times? I'm going for: 5 minutes. 9 times

That's not been announced either.

What on the roads has annoyed you today?

Twice in 3 days I've had a car exiting a car park that drives straight across the pavement, without checking anyone is walking along said path., narrowly missing me They then stop to check no cars are coming before pulling out onto the road. TRY STOPPING TO CHECK NO ONES COMING ALONG THE PAVEMENT TOO, YOU TWONKS -
After reading this, I thought about some of the things I've done where I should have engaged my brain first. One notable example was when I did the equivalent of sawing off a tree branch whilst sitting on it. I was demolishing a timber framed conservatory and was quickly propping up a ladder at various points to climb and then saw through some struts. Unfortunately I lost my presence of mind and sawn through one which was supporting the ladder. Gravity, quickly pointed out my mistake.

That'll be a first.

Back To The Grind? For the first time since 2021 perhaps.

Spoke to a season ticket holder who doesn't frequent FT about Rohl, and it was the first they had heard about it.

If you see him again say to your mate, or pretend you're on the 'phone as you walk past him, saying something along the lines of, Well whoever the next manager is, I Hope he gets rid of Soumare. He's shit. Plant the seed

Frank O'Farrell? Us to Man U. 1971 iirc

Indeed. I like to think that he and all other perpetrators of wicked historic crimes, who have so far evaded justice, sleep less easily since DNA profile became available.

Whoever we appoint will, of course, be given a clean slate and a fresh start. Imagine though, when the first games starting eleven is announced, and it contains Vesty, Faes, Soumare, Daka and one or two others. As daft as it seems, If we should lose the match, many will be concerned immediately.
