  1. I guess there are many examples of this now, but I was told today of a couple who have been supporters for 60 years, many of those as season ticket holders, who have decided no more attending matches for them. Not all older folk are 'Happy Clappers, we were in League One once'. Not by a long chalk.
  2. I'm reading that he's a Buddist. Perhaps he can get the monks in again? I mean, look what happened last time.
  3. Well, I was a little out. The two chick's fledged this afternoon. We witnessed one leaving. On camera, he/she was quite mobile inside the box and then poked their head out from the hole. We then watched from the garden as it made its first foray into the outside world. I was amazed at its first flight. The bird took off from the birdbox hole, did an immediate sharp left turn and landed expertly in our tree, which is approx 7 metres away. Almost instantly, one of the parents joined them. Despite checking regularly, the second one fledged whilst we weren't looking.
  4. Probably already been posted on here, apologies if so. But incase anyone has missed it, I think this is a cracking interview with JV. What a modest, down-to-earth, first rate fella - as well as our very own GOAT.
  5. He'll get them next season - just not with us.
  6. Is that 'Hitler' rant still on YouTube, I couldn't find it last time I looked?
  7. When we signed him I said one million for a nonleague player - we're bloody daft
  8. You've not missed anything.
  9. Here's a pic. One of the dead chick's is at the feet of the mother. She has tried to remove it several times but has been unable.
  10. I posted videos previously in this thread of our Blue Tits. Of the 8 eggs laid, 5 hatched. 1 chick died after a week and we've lost 2 more this week. They all seemed to be progressing well too The two remaining ones are quite mobile and I think they'll be off tomorrow.
  11. At least this fox has had a positive outcome.
  12. Well, I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong.
  13. I've often wondered what these beauties look like now.....
  14. I must be getting old, I couldn't believe what I was watching when I saw the ad on TV. People literally sniffing others in said area.
  15. Fecking smart meter. Since retiring, I've kept an eye on fuel usage costs. Just checked our readings on the display and by one metric, it states we have used £19 worth of electricity so far this month. That is about right. However, it is also showing we have used about 20 times the amount of KWh (meter reading) over that same period. This would equate to over £300 ffs. Been on the phone to British Gas to try and resolve. Not holding my breath.....
  16. One anti war song that, perhaps, slips under the radar is Zor and Zam by the Monkees, which touches on this very point
  17. That was funny. Might go for RVN?
  18. I had forgotten what excitement was, but those last few mins.
  19. Cracking JV assist.
  20. Further update. They are now exploring from the nest now. Apologies for poor quality. Also, for some reason, FT was rejecting my attempt to upload another short video
  21. The memories and family stories in this thread remind us, though no such reminder is necessary, what a great debt we owe those who serve and, indeed, that we should never forget. For your tomorrow, we gave our today'
  22. These days of on demand and catch-up TV have spoiled us I feel. Mrs. FFF and I watched something a few weeks ago and decided to watch the next episode straight away, but no, it wasn't available. A quick check showed us we would need to wait a week, something that was entirely normal in the relatively recent past. Waiting a week now and with so much other choice, you run the risk of losing interest or plainly forgetting to watch further episodes.
  23. We're desperate for housing. I've suggested before that all these brown field sites and unused buildings should be utilised for homes, not places of worship no matter what your belief, denomination ect Absolutely ludicrous that precious space and such opportunities are used in this way.
  24. Update: Chick's doing well. VID-20250507-WA0001.mp4
  25. Two local history information panels that have been installed on Sunningdale Road, Braunstone Frith industrial estate. You'll probably need to zoom in the read them.
